Love the animation! I can't wait to see it at 24 frames. Also, I think the trees need to have 2 articulated branches for arms. It would humanize them a bunch and you could have them make funny gestures with their branches/arms. Keep up the awesome work.

I once bought a sad little xmas tree. It was about 10:30 at night xmas eve, I was headed home from work when I saw this little tree on sale. I felt sorry for it & brought it home & went to bed. The next morning, I discovered why the tree was on sale: it had been sprayed by a skunk. My whole house (little studio apartment) stunk! But I still kept the tree. Outside.

Just Final Cut Pro and photoshop. I drew some trees. created the pieces in photoshop. And made them move in FCP
