  • There Was One Girl Told Me That She Does Take Martial Arts In Norway Its Called Muay Thai Kickboxing In Norway Her Name Was Bianca Helene Or Camilla Helene Leversen I Don't Know Which One Is Her Real Name Is But She Told Me She Took The Class Or Club Fitness Or What Ever

  • I love it when people attack videos like this saying things like: "That can't possibly work in real life." They will usually tell us that the person being thrown is obviously helping. What they don't get is the person being thrown IS helping, but he is doing so to keep himself from getting hurt. Those sword/stick techniques, if the guy wasn't flipping he wold be falling on his face. Even on a mat, that doesn't feel good.

  • Wow! His techniques are pretty good.

  • its jus easier to roll then splat, too

very useful in real life, non martial or martial tto be able to fall in the various ways aikidoka do, once i stepped off a cliff in the dark an i did the flip an a breakfall while grabbing onto some roots or something, saved my life : )

  • you flip or you say by to your wrist ...

  • buen video, gracias

  • ur dojo looks very nice

  • How strange... there aren't any REAL attacks in this entire video... just idiotic 'fall guys' who think they are practicing a 'martial art' by volunteering to be fall guys for a conman...

Why isn't there ONE piece of footage of an aikidoka defending a REAL attack, by somebody who actually has a modicum of standup?

  • @packoftwenty a kid haiz haiz

  • @packoftwenty Because no-one would be stupid enough to allow someone to attack them. Look at the BJJ guys, do they let boxers punch them in the face or do they enter in and take them down? You never see BJJ done against punches or kicks for a reason and it's the same with Aikido. If someone has a modicum of stand up you don't want them standing up long enough to win the fight.

  • @packoftwenty lol......you need to educate yourself a little more.

  • @packoftwenty sorry i do aikido i find it disrespectable for you to insult a martial art that you know little knowledge about, its called rolling and breakfalling if the practioners did not do this, they would get broken wrists etc., the reason techniques are done slowly in demonstrations is to show how it works, aikido is not about strength, but leverage momentum, using little energy to defend yourself, before insulting something learn about it first...

  • @packoftwenty ah i always get a good laugh from ignorant people like you on youtube... but one day you will understand... the day u get your ass beaten

  • im 12 and i also relyon akito

  • nice ^^

  • HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIJAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

  • Maybe best to learn about Ueshiba's dodgy cult ties to the Satanic New Age Movement before rolling around in the grass.

  • Maybe best to learn about Ueshiba's dodgy cult ties to the Satanic New Age Movement before rolling around in the grass.

  • falling on grass hurts...these guys are tough.

  • Awsome! Aikido

  • I would have chosen a different kind of music. This music makes, at least me, think of that kind of wrestling and boxing. Aikido is a lot different. It is about keeping calm and being 'one' with the cosmos.

  • A beautiful dance, what's it called?

  • Has anyone done a comparison of Aiki Jujitsu vs Aikido?

  • I little too much bending forward at the waist by Nage for my liking.

  • Your music is very upsetting for the psyche and body.

  • @Igaluit Yeah, that's totally against the aikido principle.

  • AND @flancka: getting your opponent out of balance is the whloe point of aikido!! check out severe masters like christian tissier or steven seagal (yes, i know...) but don't think their opponents lack commitment: defenses don't work without porper attacks! go to a training sometimes, ask to participate, do what they say and be glad to go home with all joints and bones in place. U know the feeling of bones or ligaments breaking? Just go slightly softer and you have Aikido standards...

  • @flancka: u throw your partner to the ground dancing!? so... dancing's not the right name for a m-ART. neither's choreography. after brown belt, randori is an inevitable attack to face. it means random attacks at random speed.

    @damon231196:

gotta know and strike attacks to know how to defend against them, eh? but the principle of aikido doesn't involve aggressiveness like punches or kicks, why would it? works out better without'em...

@bobaslo: kimono is a pyjama. hakama is the usual throusers

  • For what is that black trouser?why they don´t wear a normal kimono?

  • The Hakama is a traditional samurai piece of clothing, serving both as chaps (protecting the underlaying clothes from wear) and to conceal the movements of the legs, making it harder to predict the movements before they already is a matter of fact.

  • does aikido have attacks in it or is it just self defence againts punches kick etc

  • @damon231196 what punches and kicks, perhaps what you mean is how to throw your running dance partner who rushes towards you with both arms extended straight outwards and ioo% unbalanced and overcommitted. it is dance basically , beautiful coreography of play and mock fighting great for expensive seminars

  • Well, that's an other way to get your dogi dirty...

  • Good vid :)

  • Norway AND Aikido!!!! It's beautiful.

  • This stuff sure looks pretty and neat, but it wont save you on the street.

  • Aikido works when you apply it.

  • This is amazing. i love aikido, its such a relaxing art to practice. Any idea what song this is???

  • kult

    reine steven seagal jo:P

  • Now if they would just learn ninjitsu. Then they could be....Viking Ninjas! it would be awsome.

  • I will rely on Aikido also, and I am trained in ninpo and jujutsu extensively as well. it is the easiest style to use when being attacked, and I rarely (if ever) attack another person.

  • I, like everyone else, will rely on what will work for any given situation, I;ve watched your videos, and i give credit where it is due...you are good at talking. Instead of bad mouthing everyone that trains in Aiki, you should stick with your training, because its obvious its a complete waste of time debating you on things you apparently have no open mind for anyway!

  • aikido is not entirely defensive, depends on the situation. The body only moves so many ways, Aikido takes advantage of that. Train hard, no matter what you study and you will more than likely come out on top. I hold upper rank in Kempo, Karate, and keijutsukai Aikido,. and me personally, I will rely on the Aikido EVERY TIME.

  • Aikido is not entirely defensive? Is that so? Aikido waza is no one for attack

  • @jfishf150 What makes Aikido better than Karate?

  • @larbo1616 I never meant to imply that Aikido is better than Karate, or any other martial art. i think its a better fit for some than others, for me, I love it. I simply get sick of some on here that seem to have nothing better to do than bash Aikido, any art can be bashed. I say keep an open mind, keep training in whatever you like to train in, and see where it leads you.

  • @larbo1616

    absolutely nothing...

They are just different, Karate is strong and uses "brutal" energy, in aikido its

just another way of Work with the "partner/opponent" is simply let him go but to the place where the aikidoca want.

hope you understand what I mean.

  • @jfishf150 Do you have videos of this on your channel or the means to upload?

  • There is no best!! A boxer can beat kung fu, a BJJ can beat Muay Tai, a Tai chi can beat karate.....its just who's better that day. Thats all. Open your eyes and mind.

  • it depends on how well you learn the skill. And u seem to know martial arts good. Most people are ignorant about tai chi( I prastise it and kung fu and a little aikido)

  • You got it right fella, I'd like for some of these guys taking on rugby players. They'd be tackled to the ground in no time flat. But Ikido helps when you are playing any game....., because it's a mindset, that gives confidence in your own abilities

  • struis50- Aikido has techniques to take on a bull rush type attack also.

  • You're head till u cant remember ure living in the front when u look behind

  • Man i practise aikido for about a month now (not that long :( ) and i keep seeing reply's on youtube like Why they fall and make Flips trust me if u dont fall or make a flip good ull end up with alot of pain in the dojo ofc you mostly train with low resistance but on the street a Aikidoka would throw you on the floor as hard as he can perform the techniques and trust me ull be in pain so much pain u cant do anything and u'll be on the floor allowing the aikido if have too well just keep kicking

  • they fall over because it is a necessary defensive maneuver to lessen the pain in which the technique inflicts.

  • So many martial arts experts chiming in about how knowledgable they are...amazing that they can find the time to train!

  • @meltedpriest

no kidding, look at the big guts on these so called masters. masters of gluttony

  • this guy was my trainer before :)

  • the flips look a little dramatized or am i just being critical?

  • if you don't flip, your arm will break.

  • @chopper245 Not only that, but id imagine the actual flip to be useful in a real streetfight if it came down to fighting another practioner of JiuJitsu or Aikido. Knowing how to fall in any sport or art is essential to safety. I longboard...if i didn't know how to bail i doubt id still be doing this 2 years later.

  • Mitchownsyoursoul, you are being both observant and a little critical. One of the things you learn in Aikido is how to be thrown. It is important to learn how to perform Aikido as well as to have it performed against you. Back when Ueshiba developed Aikido there were, and still are, Diato Ryu that teach Aikijujutsu. Ueshiba studied at many Diato Ryu in his youth and even adapted Aikido from Aikijujutsu. He knew that Aikijujutsu could be used against his students.

  • i love this vid

  • try aikido for yourself, certainly worked for me when i broke some fags wrist who tried to punch me in a bar.

  • The zombies in "Dawn of the Dead" moved quickly and they tried to eat people. I wouldn't want to fight one. They usually attack in groups too so while you'd be "rolling" with one, the others would be taking bites out of you. Sort of like what would happen in real life.

  • Haha, you DO realize my entire point was being sarcastic? I'm a brazilian jiu jitsu practitioner (got vids of my last competition on my profile), and all of this stuff is FAKE. If you don't train with resistance, you learn nothing.

  • well i dunno if its effective but it looks awesome and has flow

    BJJ looks hm .. GAY

compare a gay-wrestlin porn with BJJ i dont see any difference

  • seems to me u know very little about grappling. no need to talk about this further.

  • you know a lot about gay things... are you gay?

  • no, but you cant blame me for saying "OMG THATS`S GAY!"

when i see two MEN with SHORT PANTS wrestling on the floor with headscissors and legholds.. less than 10 cm`s between head and dick..

theres nothing wrong with grappling or jujutsu but BJJ IS GAY

  • "BJJ IS GAY"

Its not gay unless gay guys are doing it.

  • I think you're right about training with resistance.

But I think you're wrong about assuming aikido practitioners never train with resistance.

It's just most of the videos online are demo's. Although I don't do aikido myself, I know an aikido practitioner

  • @BJJonVideo harsh dude, BJJ for the most part comes from japanese jujitsu, just modified for different things, obviously, mostly ground techniques. BJJ in the street aint worth a shit when your attacker has buddies!

  • @jfishf150 Funny. So you need buddies to beat up a BJJ fighter. So you can't beat one bjj fighter, but i'm pretty sure you can beat up multiple bjj fighters, since that's what aikido trains you for. Use one bjj fighter's corpse to attack the rest?

No MA can be very effective against multiple attackers.

  • What's WRONG with all you people bashing AIKIDO!!!! Can't you see the BEAUTY in it?

I mean, have you dudes seen the movie "Dawn of the Dead"?????

AIKIDO is the perfect self defence against zombies that run at you with their arms extended. If I was ever on a zombie infested place, I'd want an aikido practitioner WITH ME

Everything has a purpose, and Aikido keeps the zombies in their coffins where they should be.

  • no beuty in something that's extremely fake, I practice Judo, I went to check an aikido academy, and the "sensei" "throwed" his students even before they grabbed him, in other words, the guy just pulled his arm up, and 1 second before the guy could touch the other one, it was already on the ground, they throw themselves! its just fantasy, they dont throw you for real, tori doesnt do anything, just move the hand, and uke throws himself at his own will

  • the students need to throw them self to avoid from injured themselves ... thats y the first thing we learn from aikido is rolling so when the sensei throw the students, we kno wat to do ..

  • no but I mean, the guy "THREW" them EVEN BEFORE HE GRABBED THEM.

also, in judo the first thing you learn is how to fall, you do learn how to do a ROLL FALL, but there are plenty of other false, as effective as the roll, which dont require any roll, so that we know how to take a fall WHEN THEY THROW US, when they do kuzushi, kumikata and the kake, but we dont AVOID the throw, we let ourselves be throwed cus we learn how to fall.

and btw, watch the vid "aikido grandes maestros" is completly fake.

  • indeed every martial art is for a certain purpose.

imagine you want to rape a girl or a straight guy and he/ she tries to escape or fight you.. you need techniques to keep them right in place and make em suck your dick..

or break their bones like in the kung fu vs bjj video you FUCKING BASTARDS! XD

  • wtf is wrong with you??

  • no matter how people perform, they put in utmost effort before they can give this performance. Paraphrasing the philosophy from blamefire, "Its their momentum that motivated them to put up this show to be humiliated by viewers."

  • lol Nice video, I just would have done a bit less slow-mo. lol Though I did have to replay parts of it just to see what happened. the music struck me as an odd choice, as well, though not bad. Just.. peculiar, lol, at least for this.

  • Shihan Tissier

  • Emerald green lawn, bright sky, ebony hakamas plus impressive and smoothly flowing kotegaeshis (et al.) I hope we'll also be able to film suchlike beauty this summer. :-)

  • @ ryanmagictricks

A true martial artist (and student) would never look down on another martial art, knowing that they can be beaten by that martial art.

  • that is my teacher:) i train aikido in sunyata dojo:)

  • You must watch some shitty videos or have had a shitty teacher.

xD there is no such thing as an ineffective martial art, only ineffective people.

  • how is this not affective. the guy is blocking of the most ignorent of people who are just chargin at him randomly

  • dude u study magic trick, its natural that u r more prone to get an arse kicking for some fail street magic :p

  • i dont study magic tricks, who does. i just know a bit and teach it on my channel. i acualy know jujitsu, taekwondoe, wrestling, and muay thia

  • And how many times will a person who has extensive training in martial arts be charging at you if it wasn't part of training? It must be a scary world you live in, if everyone you pass on the street is an experienced MMA fighter.

  • huh?

  • "it only orks if the most clueless person was charging at u randomly as shown in this clip"

  • You should watch more Aikido.

All it really requires is for them to throw a punch or a kick. They use the momentum of punch or kick as well. A lot of the same technique I've seen effectively used in Ninjutsu as well.

  • wonderful Ukemei

  • How did they keep their gi's so white on that grass? That's a technique I'd love to learn...

  • no yellow in Tamura's aikido.

  • WHAT IS THE NAME OF THE SONG?

  • fry dat chicken

  • Stilig:)) -Ana-

  • as related to actual combat as turnips are to world peace- but hey, it looks lovely and graceful.

  • wunderbar

  • The best is Aikido

  • What sux about Aikido is that skirt lookin thing..Its take about 3 4 years of training to even get to wear it D= What the hell do the other people wear??

  • normal kimonos

  • Kimono is a long skirt its a Gi the others where... Gi has a top and pants Kimono is just one peace of clothing.. It is basicly a long skirt...

  • It's not kimono, it's hakama.

  • im glad someone knows there stuff. Kimono?! wtf?

  • yeah, glad someone knows, otherwise pretty soon we will be talking about geishas and shit!

  • Sorry gotta say u can where a hakama at yellow belt which is the second grading you do. its optional but at 1 st dan (black belt) its cumpulsary

  • An aikid Gi, or aiki dogi. Just like any other martial arts clothes. White pants and white jacket.

  • See Catainshitsmell I would rather practice my martial arts and be accomplished professionally. The BOX can be as large as the universe Timmy!

  • sry to be off topic but the norweigan cops arent armed 0_o r they crazy?!?

"put the gun down and come quietly"

"what u gonna do about it"

    "... crap" XD

  • They aren't normally armed because that's not a normal occurrence in Norway :P

If it happened more often the cops would be armed more often.

  • I dunno. I'm not sure we can trust the Norwegians. With those pointy sticks, and all.

  • its about stayying fit and being able to defend urself :)

  • Why are they teaching martial arts in Norway? They're like, the most peaceful people ever!

  • untill you come across a drunk one in a dark alley---

  • Well, peaceful enough that the cops don't even carry guns. '_'

  • Aikido is peacefull martial art.

  • The fact that you put the words peaceful and martial arts together really says something... anyway, I'm not against martial arts. I'm just happy for Scandinavian countries and their peaceful ways.

  • A lot of people who practice martial arts use for it for discipline and focus, not just kicking ass. I have been in a few dojos (small town, not a lot of businesses last), and you could tell the ones that were real martial arts and the ones that were more just for people wanting to know self defense. The first Dojo I went to was 3 classes one week, 2 the next, 3 hours each(well,2:30, the rest is water break). Had a lot more standing in ranks, and meditation. The other one was 1 hour a week.

  • thats your opinion, but one question, why come on this vidio then

  • norway is like everywhere elce, still people who pick fights and stuff and some people like me do martial arts just cause it interests them, not to fight people or defend your self

  • Yeah yeah, I know. -_- I just find it fascinating that the cops in Norway aren't even armed!

  • Heey, the place they're doing it in is right next to my school, I totally recognize it & stuff!

  • HA HA... Japanese killing the Dutch

  • aikido is a life long journey not just a few years of lessons and practice.

  • If you are good at it, you are close to unbeatable!!! You have to practice it a lot but once you got it, ist asolutly great!!! Spezialy against big guys. Remember, the taler they are, the harder you can throw them on the ground :-)

  • very Beutiful God bless

  • IMPRESIONANTE! SIN PALABRAS ;) :)

  • Impressive....most impressive.

  • bu ne ya bunda hep sokak dövüslerinde dayak yersin.

  • I'd like to see this applied in a REAL life attack situation.

  • very good clean tecniques

  • In aikido you can throw away an opponent with your ki and a little strenght?

  • There are no throws in Aikido, Just good techniques.

  • No throws? What is kaiten nage? kokyu nage? shiho nage? I'm confused and curious as to what you mean... The technical term is projection (Aikido and the Art of the Dynamic Sphere). It's still the art of hitting people with planets, you know, in a peaceful way. :)

  • lol, those are techniques. the result of good technique is the throw, you're not actually trying to throw your opponent, just doing the technique that he has given you ;)

  • It makes uses of body leverage, your opponent's weight and momentum, regardless of whether you create it or borrow it from your enemy.

  • Aikido is very effective if you have the speed to apply the techniques,my personnal opinion, being a mma practitioner in aikido, muay thai and bjj is that aikido alone is not sufficient to teach you the neccessary reflexes, combine it with a solid reflex and speed art like muay thai and aikido can be the best form of defence possible since you CAN actually apply the stuff you learn.I know since I love to use aikido in light sparring with even my muay thai collegues with great effect.

  • I want to see an Aikido display where the guy being thrown puts up a struggle/fight

  • So you just WANT to see someone get HURT.

  • hmm.. i think they have it somewhere in youtube. But it's not really aikido. Infact the name is called 'real aikido' which to my opinion is total crap of a name.

But the techniques there are good, plus it looks like street fight.

  • Aikido is really a very useful martial art, dont buy many of the bullshit u find on youtbe, just go to a dojo and try a class, u ll c what i mean

  • No its not.. videos on here.. r obviously not real fights, so the attacks aren't full, in real life, the Aikidoka will move at a much greater speed.

  • I watched your video. Nice stuff! Really liked your enthusiasm for teaching yourself. From watching the way you move i suggest you try to find a filipino stick-fighting school of Modern Arnis, Escrima, or Kali. They start off using sticks that are machete length, but they do move on to using blades, with movements real similar to yours. It could take you to another level in your martial understanding. Best of luck to you

  • in Aikido falling is a way to protect your arms and legs from being broken. And of course getting back in balance for whatever comes next.

  • just think ! if the attakers didn't exagerate there arms or else would be broken !

  • some of this looks just a bit exageratted. Like the guys who are getting grabbed and thrown aren't even trying to not get thrown.

  • trust me.. it hurts if u don't fall with enough force. Aikido is dangerous. They fall that hard, because they have to. Don't mess with an Aikidoka ;)

  • The only problem is that Aikido's one of the less practical martial arts. In theory, it's perfectly sound, but in a real fight it's much harder to perform the locks and throws from Aikido, because you don't know what your opponent will do. They could come at you with a completely new technique that you're unfamiliar with. And the entire course of a fight can change from a single strike.

  • The flaw in your theory is based on the assumption that the practicer of Aikido is anticipating a specific attack. One of the basics of Aikido is to create space between the Aikido practicioner and the attacker and use his energy combined with your own to a guided outcome. If the Akido practicioner is fairly competent and still surprised by what the attacker does the person who is most at risk is the attacker: he may be thrown into a less than favorable landing

  • The idea of creating space is a very common principle in martial arts. However, my friend also does Aikido and he admits that unless you've trained enough that your SIGNIFICANTLY faster than your opponent, pulling off a successful lock is very difficult to do, and you're more likely to get smacked in the face than throw your opponent to the ground.

  • Unless you have trained enough in ANY martial art the likelyhood of you getting smacked in the face is great, however in Aikido the first thing you are taught to do is get out of the way of the oncoming blow so you can join your energy with the attacking force. Thus even if you were not able to accomplish the desired lock you would STILL be out of harms way. The art does not encompass blocking. First thing is get out of the way. I don't have to be faster I just have to get out of the way

  • I'm not meaning to diss Aikido. I think it's a great art to have in your repertoire. However, as a stand alone art, it's less effective than more aggressive arts like Muay Thai. Trained attacks can penetrate an Aikido fighters guard very effectively.

I know this for a fact as my friend's done Aikido for five years. I've done Renshikan karate for a year and a half. Most of the time, when we spar, if I advance on him fast enough he can't "Get out of the way" and my punches get through.

  • @@ 5 years should b nidan n still cant get out of the way? lol! that's funny

frankly speaking, muay thai's (as well as other MA except ninjitsu) really cool, but the time you'd need to invest in building the muscles... it's not something everyone can do. And if you dont get enough strenght, the techniques cannot b used or b ineffective.

If trained properly, aikido is really effective, and dangerous. It wont kill, but it will cause a lot of pain

  • what do you mean by except ninjitsu? i trained in bujinkan for about a year and my tkd and karate guy whose been training for allot longer cant seem to hold a torch to me

  • as in ninjitsu does'nt require the need for strength? just like aikido, it is dependent on the way you apply the technique. Or atleast that's what my friend told me = =

    what is bujinkan?

  • a style of ninja art called taijitsu(fyi: thats what i do) they excel on hand to hand combat and weapons ... a more direct form of nija arts... less sneaking... less diversion

  • As will any martial art. As always, it's the skill of the practicioner, not the art. All I'm saying is that some martial arts are harder to master than others. Aikido's one of those arts. It's a good style if you can master it, but it's a tougher style to master. This is my opinion entirely keep in mind, and I'm basing it off almost entirely of what my friend has shown me and taught me of Aikido, as well as the couple of classes I attended with him.

  • I have asked around a bit and it seems that you need to practice for years(usually a decade) to be able to efficiently use it in fights, but the efficiency of this art more than makes up for that time. Still, it doesn't mean you can't use the techniques if you find an opening, but you need tons of experience to know which move to use for every situation.

  • I thought about that before. There are tons of techniques and it's just practice that is going to help doing the right one in the right moment

  • Well yes you are right.Like a situation: The bad buy is trying to grap you should then you counter and do like bone or neck brake combo. IF bad guy trows you a punch counter and u still can do same bone or neck brake como.

  • Maybe you are right if it is a fight against multiple opponets but not really true against one enemy. Because first of all it depends on the hours you train per day. So, some need 10 years an others only 3. Secondly in a streetfight or pupfight the normal guys who wanna beat someone do NOT know anything about martial arts. You only need to be carefull and make for yourself the oportunity the do one lever and you have broken a joint.

  • @@ i dont fall that hard though... lol! The sound produced is nothing really... it's just break fall.

  • I karate kan du hoppe over belter....

    Det kaller jeg teit!!
