@cjmcilveen i had the supercharger b4 the cam on the little 4.8. When i switched to the 6.0 i purchased and installed the cam and blower at the same time. I bought the cam with specs in mind for the application.

@Bravo12RX tooo much. haha.. I wrecked a few things along the way so that added to the total quite a bit obviously. Basically to supercharge 4-5k, cam&springs 1k, stall 500-1k, headers 500, exhaust 500, rear end upgrade 500. This is assuming you are running the 80e behind the 6l too. That will get it moving pretty good. Theres always room for improvement of course.
I went to drag radials, caltracs, higher boost, with bigger injectors, intercooling and run low 12s with it now.
i got an 05 3500 6.0L sittin on 34inch tires and with those tires it still sits me back in my seat where did you order you charger from thats gonna be my next addition along with a built tranny. your truck is sick though i done my dash the same way you did but with red color match the truck. bowties. always classy never trashy
And if ur transmission is stock just get a Corvette torque converter and rebuild ur transmission with just Heavy duty parts dat will do da trick and at very low price
To the owner of the truck make sure you get a GM performance drive shaft I notice urs is stock and I see those things fly out on the dynos here a lot we did to trucks on noz and God dam those drive shafts came out flying so u should get that fixed out

@MattCHollis1988 no, it's supercharged. Its a Vortech Centrifugal style supercharger. It is belt driven from the crank versus driven by exhaust gasses as a turbo is. it is similar to a turbo in that it has a compressor housing, but it has no turbine housing. Vortech, Paxton, and Procharger just to name a few all make these style superchargers.
@lkusler Some kids don't know the difference between the centrifugal and twin screw superchargers. Very nice build, I had a 2001 and had similar plans for it, glad someone actually went through. You still got the stock transmission?

I've got a 4L85E in place of the 4l60e now, had to make a custom rear crossmember, wire in the rear speed sensor, and make a segment swap in the tune. So far so good, also bought a 3500 stall converter from circle d, awesome. I'm gonna make some new vids pretty soon hopefully some at the track too, but i can tell you, its too loud for a daily driver...
@123middle I got the complete long block, coils, exhaust, intake etc. from an auto recycler out of BC called D&M. paid just over a grand for it. 20Km on it, and very clean. This made it a very economical to do. I also got the 80e from them for under a grand.

1978, Thunder makes some nice affordable cams. I have a 220 and can barely tell it's there. If you want it to growl like in this video, go bigger. You should also upgrade from Hypertech and get a mail order HPtuners tune. They're only like $150 now. The 5.3 enrichment and volumetric efficiency tables are all wrong for a 6.0 and a cam will only make it worse.

Thanks for the comment. Many people choose a cam like mine for NA as well as FI, but you need a stall as well. If you are gonna street toy it, i'd go with something around the 224-8 durations with 550-600 lifts, 3000 plus converter, longtubes, and a custom tune. You need to upgrade valve springs as well, stocks are nfg. You can go as conservative or crazy as you want depending on what you want.
