this is done so beautiful. Never heard this song before neither I knew the story behind. I loved this melody from the first tone. Thank you for the music in 2009. I hope you will continue uploading in 2010 as well as I will do!

All the best for the new year from Lemgo/Germany

  • Nice work, Paul. Your vocal sounds great, as does the music. I've never heard this before, but I really like the melody and chords on the third line of each verse. This would be a good one for our Irish band, except everyone would be crying in their beer!! Thanks, Ken

  • Cheers Ken.

Strange - people often cry in their beer at our gigs , even when we're playing upbeat songs!!

I'll have to figure out why.

    Paul

  • Uhm...maybe they're just "happy tears"....or maybe they all just have severe allergies....or maybe something sad just happened (to all of them) - but I know it's not the music. You guys are great. Happy New Year!!

  • Terrific folk song with beautiful instrumentation. -Ron

  • Much appreciated.

    Regards

    Paul

  • as always, an outstanding performance.

hope there will be many uploads to follow this.

  • Thanks Lilly. It has been a favourite of mine for over 30 years now.

"Blein Vie Noa" means happy new year in Manx.

    Regards

    Paul

  • What a beautiful, sad song.... 5* for you and a Happy New Year for you and yours!

    See you in 2010,

    Lilly
