@Hamptoncltn No, the Wii wasn't the first to come up with using motion sensors in gameplay actually. Motion sensors have been around for a while and are just a hardware thing. Nobody is "copying" each other to be using them in their games, seeing as Kinect is completely different from the Wii and uses different technology.

A way to check is to use the kinect config tool to look at the data it is capturing. See if there are regions it cannot get the correct depth for. It works fine for me in the dark. Or perhaps, due to the dark, you are not as coordinated as you are in the light, so are not gesturing well enough.

I'm excited. I was skeptical of the kintect until I bought one and now I love it. Yes, it's very different from controller based gaming, but there is something liberating about standing up and just moving around. Besides, it's suddenly easier to get in my "30 minutes of recommended daily activity" now.

I think motion gaming is a good idea. It gets people back up and moving again even if they are doing it in front of a tv. I know someone that lost 120lbs thanks in large part to motion gaming. Personally I think the game looks cool and I would try it.
