i have this with the gear 3 L.E.D lighted one u know. well the problem is with the headset when i listen i have static problems i can head the annoying sound but when ever i put my finger over the spot were the mic thing plugs in next to the voice volume switch it stops how do i fix it so i dont need to keep my finger on it?
Hey there, quick, probably dumb question: I still use a Non-HD TV because I hate having lag problems for music/rhythm games. Will this headset work with my TV? or do I need to have an HD TV?
@Jessicalmuniz08 Hey Jess, you don't have to have an HD TV for the headphones to work, as long as the back of your gaming system has Optical output it will receive the audio perfectly.
dude how can u sey turtle beach are better quilty they feel like they have been made by 3 year olds the build quilty is sooo bad and the talk back cable for them dam the worst thing ever iv bin through loads of worse quility ever and wats up with bass every 1 like bass a flat headset sounds horrid
I also had a tritton a wile back. But i had to return them. Because even if i could use it on the PS3, i had to sacrifice picture quality for suround sound because it didnt have the option for hd out put and had to use component cables. Is it the same story whit this ones?
@southpaw8123 This headset will upscale any audio signal to 7.1 surround sound and yes it does work with ps3 Video the Digital input, but honestly i would go with turtle beach line of headsets, they really are well made comfortable and have superior high quality sound... the only thing that's awesome about these gears sets are the lights and design scheme that looks hot. But at the price its going for i wouldn't recommend them.

I have to hold my controller perfectly still for it not to make the sound(which is impossible when playing a great game like gears). I tried unplugging the headset from my controller and it still makes the noise. IS ANYONE ELSE HAVING THIS PROBLEM?
@fiestapeople8 That loud static is caused from the mic monitoring, even though your mic or chat cable isn't connected it still is trying to provide mic monitoring. So the static is noticeable when you have you game volume high. so if you don't want that static sound turn the mic monitoring off. But despite this there is also a high pitched sound that continually plays, it isn't much of a problem but it is slightly noticeable when there is NO game sound. Hope this helps:)
@14469 definitely the PX5 rocks in my opionion it's worth every penny because of it's awesome amount of features packed in, and the incredible immersive sound! =)
Good review man, I bought these tonight and I was thinking the exact same thing. Way to much bass!! Sounds muffled at times as well. It's such a shame to because these things are beautiful and they match my gears 3 console so well. Looks like i'll be returning them though because they are way to expensive for the quality of sound you get out of them.

@AdoreYouInAshXI ok so i also have these and i had the same problems with the sound and bass being muffled but i found a fix for the bass and the sound. the problem has to do with the ear cup padding i took them off and switched them with my old tritton cloth ear padding and the sound and bass was perfect so definitely try this bc the leather ear cups are muffling the sound switch them with the normal cloth ear cups and these things will sound perfect i promise

@TheCrabjuice sounds great... the TB x41 is an excellent choice! and the best they have out now is the PX5! It's Superb!! I just replaced these Gears 3 headset for it and I'm working on a video review for it now as well.
@neonhenry I love the px5, but i switched over to the modern warfare 3 delta turtle beach headphones.. because it has more boom in the sound and the surround sound is just perfect and spot on now, i finally got the amazing sound ive been looking for with them. The PX5 does the same awesomeness but just it's explosion and strong bass is not as high.
@14469 well the black ops headset is 5.1 dolby digital as opposed to the gears 3: 7.1 surround sound... and it's only about 10 bucks less i would say overall the Gears 3 headset is the best Tritton has going for them right now since it's mostly the updated and recent one out. The Black ops one also uses a power cable to power it instead of USB like the gears 3 headset. The Turtle beach x41 is 7.1 and is cheaper, it may not look the best but it's got spectacular Quality sound, and it's wireless.

Good review man, I bought these tonight and I was thinking the exact same thing. Way to much bass!! Sounds muffled at times as well. It's such a shame to because these things are beautiful and they match my gears 3 console so well.
