This was the real deal. I sometimes wish I wasn't 45 years old, but if I weren't I would not have experienced real punk, not the pseudo punk pop of today. You kids missed out.
this is what i love about punk, you can choose to express yourself with red mohawks and beer guzzeling, or you can choose to express yourself dressed normally and writing catchy, well preformed songs. Great song, great album, great band (although Im not really a fan of their post-punk days, which is most of their career)
I would give almost anything to have been there to see them start out. to see them anytime between this period and Let It Be would be awesome. When Bob was still with them. Even the less than spectacular songs on the early records are carried by the attitude and spirit the band had.
The Mats, Black Flag and Husker Du redeemed the otherwise wretched fucking 80s. Without them, it would have been nothing but hair metal and the beginnings of soulless manufactured pop music.
"Tommy on the right, Bobby on the left" is so sweet!
hey boy..this song is so good,i ain't even gonna try and find another as good by these guy's.....ps...gnr has alot of fan's and so there must be something there,,respect that,,don't lower urself to other's levels.
Tommy's a cool player here, too bad he can't play as good in G N' R, he f***s up G N' R bass parts. I thought it was because he was bad. But know I know he's great! he just doesn't fit in G N' R.
I really can't help it. I could listen to this 1981 shit forever. It is brutal and hits me right in the guts. Thank you so much for this...I wish there were bands like this today. Replacements rule!
Goddamn, this video is one of my favorites! Hadnt seen it in a while but just makes you realize how insanely good they were, sober or not. I once saw them last a total of 15 minutes before breaking into a fight onstage. This video captures the Replacements at their best... Jesus, Tommy looks 14.
Man, it's been a few years since I listened to these guys.
Holy shit!
Holy shit!
Friggin awesome.
Guess I grew up or something, but now I'm unemployed.
Have the time to find some great shit I'd been missing.
Maybe I shouldn't have been missing this stuff.
