  • Man, it's been a few years since I listened to these guys.

    Holy shit!

    Holy shit!

    Friggin awesome.

Guess I grew up or something, but now I'm unemployed.

Have the time to find some great shit I'd been missing.

Maybe I shouldn't have been missing this stuff.

  • So tommy was like...12 years old.

  • I miss the 80'. God were they awesome. Listen to this and then listen to any song of today. Not even close.

  • 1000 thumbs up.

  • I TPYE I HATE MUSIC IT SUCKS AND BRANG ME TO MUSIC

    RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGEEEEEEE

  • Unbelievably awesome. Whoever recorded this back in the day, many thanks!

  • great fucking song

  • bouncy :)

  • This was the real deal. I sometimes wish I wasn't 45 years old, but if I weren't I would not have experienced real punk, not the pseudo punk pop of today. You kids missed out.

  • It's funny, cause I really DO hate music! Damn you, Rebecca Black and Kesha!

  • head full of dreams... pocket full of nothing!

  • True garage rock. Love this stuff.

  • 2 people lead sad, joyless lives.

  • The Replacements were good for about the first 4 records.

  • @dahleric74 There are some hidden gems on All Shook Down, but Don't Tell a Soul is almost unlistenable.

  • I had shots with Tommy in the restroom with about 4 girls at this show. Well Done!

  • I had shots with Tommy in the restroom with about 4 girls at this show. Well Done!

  • "I hate music it's got too many notes."

  • Bassist is killing it at 14 years old

  • this is what i love about punk, you can choose to express yourself with red mohawks and beer guzzeling, or you can choose to express yourself dressed normally and writing catchy, well preformed songs. Great song, great album, great band (although Im not really a fan of their post-punk days, which is most of their career)

  • lol....before you know it peeps will have Tommy listed as a "very mature looking 5 year old"

  • My favorite song off Sorry Ma.... ("I hate Music" that is)

  • 13 18 19 21 so that was their ages at the time, best band ever!

  • Still has a lot of hooks for back then great song writer

  • look at tommy on the bass at 11 years old. what a beast

  • @jverlander35 Actually he'd be 15 here. Killin' it none the less...

  • @choad1976 oh yep your right. but ya what a talented set of guys here...to bad they arnt still around ):

  • um yea this is true punk

  • head full of dreams, pocket full of nothing

  • Excellent video. The Mats make me proud to be a native of Minneapolis.

  • "Burgers on the grill/Oh what a thrill." Indeed. Indeed.

  • Thanks for posting these, SquirrelBait!

  • Im sorry but The Replacements DESTROY every other band that has existed.

  • @lukeashmoore Agreed.

  • Wow, they were way better at this time than I gave them credit for. This seems like an awesome show.

  • sweet username, squirrelbait. for all those who don't know, squirrel bate was a silly sweet kentucky band. gotta rep my state.

  • Jesus Christ, look just how young Tommy is?!

  • @libbyaryan

he was like, 14 wasn't he?

  • @jack00008 Yes. Possibly 15.

  • Tommy on the left, Bobby on the right...

  • Awesome sound & vintage footage of one of the greatest bands ever during their heyday. You can't get much better than this. Thanks for sharing.

  • WHAT THE... what a video!

  • man i love that bass line! pretty impressive for 15

  • I would give almost anything to have been there to see them start out. to see them anytime between this period and Let It Be would be awesome. When Bob was still with them. Even the less than spectacular songs on the early records are carried by the attitude and spirit the band had.

  • Whoa, BOB!!

  • look at the 14 year old Tommy!

  • I love that fast ascending bassline in I Hate Music, it just makes the song for me

  • God Damnit! These guys were fucking amazing!

  • Tommy on my left, Bobby on the right!

  • bob stinson kicks ass..

  • great bass!!

  • aww tommmy, so cute.

  • i ahte music!!

  • Great Band very underated.

  • Bob is defiantly one of the most underrated guitarist. he really goes perfect with the band too, paul has a good voice and still does.

  • Sex Bomb Baby Yhhhhaaaaaaa

  • Smokin' Bob -W00t!

also they were in tune kid, you shoulda heard em when they were'nt!

This was '81 but you prolly were'nt born - ever heard of Flipper?

Now they took outta tune to a whole new level

    xxXXXxx

  • I don't want to live in a world where the replacements are in tune!

  • bahaha. yeahhhh.........

  • YES!!!

  • Every one eho posted knows whats up.

They completely changed over the years though, started to slow up.

  • "bobby on the left, tommy on the right"

Paul Westerberg = a clever guy.

  • LOL Paul always likes to do that sh^t. He's a writer first, then a comedian, then a guitarist, then finally a singer.

  • great punk rock band

  • fuck ya man these guys are the shit

  • The Mats, Black Flag and Husker Du redeemed the otherwise wretched fucking 80s. Without them, it would have been nothing but hair metal and the beginnings of soulless manufactured pop music.

"Tommy on the right, Bobby on the left" is so sweet!

  • AMEN, brother!!!

  • hells yes.

  • Definitely the greatest band of the 80's

  • fuck guns n' roses. this is the mats, when axl rose was still in diapers. best band of the eighties. hands fucking down.

  • Guns and Roses are great but give these chaps their dues.I think i kinda like them more.Moreso(thats totally a word).

  • this is the best band of the eighties. download their first five albums.

  • buy the first five albums

  • ...or that. :)

  • All you smarties out there. In case you thought I did not know the lyrics. I do know that it is A head full of teeth. Thnaks!

  • My head full of dreams

    A pocket full of nothing.....

    Thank you!

  • Let's just get this straight: Guns N Roses is rubbish and The Replacements are one the greatest bands of all time.

  • hey boy..this song is so good,i ain't even gonna try and find another as good by these guy's.....ps...gnr has alot of fan's and so there must be something there,,respect that,,don't lower urself to other's levels.

  • I meant that it was rubbish in comparison. haha And actually, The Replacements do have even more great songs... But this one is very, very good.

  • i agree guns and roses is nothing

  • RIGHT!!!!!

  • @catsboyscandy whats wrong w/guns and roses?

  • @catsboyscandy Thank you! Well said.

  • @catsboyscandy - Thumbs way the fuck up!!

  • wtf? tommy was in guns and roses?

  • 17!18!19! 21!

  • EPIC

  • The Mats!!! This is the best thing ever.

  • Tommy's a cool player here, too bad he can't play as good in G N' R, he f***s up G N' R bass parts. I thought it was because he was bad. But know I know he's great! he just doesn't fit in G N' R.

  • GOddam Bob can fuckin WAIL!

  • Why aint this collected into a DVD!

  • I really can't help it. I could listen to this 1981 shit forever. It is brutal and hits me right in the guts. Thank you so much for this...I wish there were bands like this today. Replacements rule!

  • BOB!

  • bob rules

  • read the book

  • Me too. Got it for my birthday...awesome.

  • Goddamn, this video is one of my favorites! Hadnt seen it in a while but just makes you realize how insanely good they were, sober or not. I once saw them last a total of 15 minutes before breaking into a fight onstage. This video captures the Replacements at their best... Jesus, Tommy looks 14.

  • I think Tommy WAS 14 then...

  • Tommy WAS 14.

  • we got mosquitoes!!!!!!!

    best band ever.

  • BURGER'S ON THE GRILL OH WHAT A THRILL!
