Oh you silly Opel boys... Just admit it, the VW is a better car all around. Better quality no doubt. It will hold its value better over time. The Opel may be quicker stock, but the VW has plenty of potential to be tuned even faster, so its kind of a non-issue for a true enthusiast. Stock/OEM is only a starting point! Keep waving your Opel fanboy flags tho haha

only why ppl says gti sucks is because all th other 20 liter turbos are faster so vw made it slower(not that it is) just so the competition can be seen but still the cometition fucks up there will never be a better car than the R32 and gti
In sa Vw Gti is the hotest hatch for 4years why because the other cars are faster but comes with a plastic interior or fucken ugly look and yes a chit retail value GTI KING OF ALL HOT HATCHES
If the only thing you're after is a crashy and bumpy ride with no ride comfort at all then, yes, GTI sucks... But if you're after some solid built, trim noice free, good looking german car with an award winning engine which cannot be judged by its 0-100 only but also by its strong midrange pull and fuel economy then you can't compare this one to anything at all instead of an A3 2.0 TFSI, which in return is an overall better package in any way you look at it but with a steepier price.
