This isn't a fighter in his early twenties...Hell Pac never through 1200 punchess, and he fought in over 50 professional fights, with 90% of them being in lighter weight classes. Something is up. Clottey is more defense than offense and doesn't take big risks. He executed his offense in a few rounds and was able to hit Pac clean although many of those was setup by Pac to get him to open up. But notice that Pac came back with power combos that overwhelmed him and even pushed him back to the ropes. He realized that if he opens a lot those power punches will eventually stop him or knock him out. The fear got into him. He had no answers for Pac's speed but to get into his turtle shell.

Jim Lampley was either bored or was trying to make the fight exciting because there was not much activitiy in Clottey.

Clottey is very conservative when it comes to throwing punches and he waited for Pac to slow down before throwing his punches. Problem is Pac does not slow down that easily. Although Pac was just doing a 2 punch combination most of the time just to engage Clottey but Clottey didn't take the bait. If Oscar found it hard to setup his offense, it was even harder for Clottey.

The 11th round was the highlight of the event. Clottey was landing his uppercuts and snaps Pac's head. Many people are fooled to believe that Pac is easy to hit. If you watch it again you will notice that Pac just stood there to be hit not avoiding the punches just to make Clottey open up for him to throw his power combinations. He did the same thing with Cotto. Sounds crazy but this is how he traps his opponents to open up themselves. Clottey knew this and was very afraid of Pac's speed.
