  • this is amazing.........seeing old photos like this addictive

  • @eve2958809 Thank you.

  • Before the multicultural nightmare...... it seems surreal to my generation who have desk jobs or no jobs and went through years of Marxist brainwashing in the school systems, then abandoned their culture and vilify anybody who's man enough to speak out against it.

  • Greta photos. I was at college in Leeds at the time. I also worked for Derek Walker Architects who designed the Catholic church in Burley.

  • Thank you for sharing

  • great shots remind me of my childhood, when we lived in Leeds they were just building The Merrion centre

  • St.Michaels`s is my old school, no longer a school but not demolished either .

Last being used as a temporary stand in for St.Georges Crypt, a homeless shelter.

  • Good old Leeds sometimes grubby sometimes tired but Bless her.My home town.

  • For a bit of nostalgia and even scene spotting get onto Amazon and buy:-

    1. Billy Liar [60's]

    2. Biederbecke Trilogy [mid 80's]

    enjoy

  • Great pics. Born 1959 I remember leeds with black buildings

As a weedy asthmatic kid the doc (correctly) suggested swimming and so spent a lot of time at LIP as a kid and then with my kids in City of Leeds.

Appalling that they sold off the site and dragged the venue over to South Leeds.

Try getting there at Christmas or when Lufc are playing.

Should have demolished and rebuilt flagship central pool and leisure

  • I would love a copy of your photo of the International Pool under construction. I have a real affection for that building.

  • Agreed.
