  • Three idiots now.

  • Unfortunately, all the big heavyweights of music, the legends like Teddy, Barry White and Luthor Vandross have passed on. In their place we have 50cents, Eminiem and all these talentless so-called musicians. Woe is us!

  • Teddy P WOULD NOT HAVE TO BEG FOR IT!!!! He could have HAD IT!!! ALL OF IT!!!

  • I remember women throwing their undergarments on stage lol.

  • Who were the two idiots who clicked on the, "dislike" button...??????

  • I recall exactly where I was when I heard of TP's passing. A great soulful classic.

  • his voice is the best period...

  • thats a bad man!!

  • Maybe its because I am from Philly but his voice is THE BEST.....listening to this and then his vocals in Wake Up Everybody...Wow..way way better than the rest!

  • ok

  • I have the video of the concert at Londons's Hammersmith Oden. Is it available on DVD or CD?

  • go Teddy!!!

  • Where did you find these performances?

  • Teddy and Marvin were great singers, both knew they were sexy and showed it, its ironic that this same year 1982 as this clip shows1982,in March 18 1982 he was paralyzed in a car accident.this may have been one of the last appearances that he was able to stand up and do. and in 2010 january we lost him. imagine if the brakes on his rolls royce didnt fail...what great songs he could have made and still shown his sexy side. hard to do from a wheel chair.long Teddy and Marvin in music

  • @12deelee...What about Barry White & Al Green, men???

Love Teddy and Marvin, but without White and Green your list is not complete...)

  • A man and a Mic, No Props, No Dancers running all over the stage yet he commands your attention and moves your soul.... Dayum I'm glad I grew up dancing and etc.. to this...

  • Damn these young cats nowadays wish they could have half the soul that Teddy had, he and Marvin were the greatest male soul singers ever.

  • Available at Wal-Mart $10

  • Teddy and Marvin are both ARIES men......YAY

  • them background singers look a lil flustered lol

  • @bluemdrapperbaby

    lol...he probably "hooked them up"

  • Wonderful performance.

  • This is a Walk trough Time / This is a Time that Stood Still / Welcome to The Show . . .

  • Happy Birthday Teddy Bear. RIP.

  • Today music is garbage...Teddy didnt have to say much and act sexual on stage...yo knew exactly what he was talking about, come to my place, turn off the lights, close the doors...straight classic music.

  • hard to believe this is almost 30 yrs old and wow still makes me sweaty and tingly in my happy place....woohoo all these young idiots should b required to watch this

  • taking notes....Mr. Pendergrass.......R.I.P

  • How many babies were made by this song?????

  • my god, this was i real artist. This is real music, not the trash that we listen in the radio today

  • Remembering the late, great, Teddy P. on the anniversary of his passing.

R.I.P Theodore DeReece Pendergrass. There will never be another Teddy Bear.

  • What a great live performance this was Teddy at his best. His voice sounds so strong and smooth. Where are the black male soulsingers nowdays. I make me wish i could go back in time to the late seventies again. Thanks for posting peter

  • i'm a big fan of modern rnb, but honestly no singer today got anything on teddy. this performance is 100% him, passionate and raw and awesome. u dont see this these days, unfortunately. thanks for sharing, neil

  • he needs a towel all that sweat getting in his eyes!! lol

  • I don't know anything else to say, but this is on point!!!!

  • el mejor tema ded teddy pendergrass,,, con diferencia, y su mejor directo, l he descubierto tatrde, pero estoy encantada con este cantante recientemente fallecido, un beso para teddy

  • Raw soul by the best soul singer who ever sang.

  • Neil... you have stolen my heart posting the original TP performances!!!

  • @shalania1101 Ha! Not me..TP has done that all by himself

  • Teddy has huge hands...

  • @lukeloveslauraalways - all the better to hold you with my dear...but seriously, he was about 6' 3" tall, big enough hands for a big guy

  • He is and always be one of a kind!!! How many male singers then and now could have a sold out concert for women only! When he sings these songs. it's like he is singing them just for you and no one else. He was a fine man inside and out. He was a 'Great Inspiriation" to me, because he didnt let getting paralyzed prevent him from having a wonderful life! thanks so much for sharing this great video of my most favorite r&b singer of all time!

  • We all wanted to be Teddy!

  • Did he have any children? Hope they are as cute as him!!! Miss him

  • @cyneul He has three - two daughters and a Son who looks like him. His name is Teddy Pendergrass II. All three children were born in the same year!! Two different mothers (you can check it out in the documentary about his life which was made whilst he was still alive). Teddy was making love on and off the stage. R.I.P. Teddy.

  • Don't close the door of this regend.

  • Now thats how you get at the ladies I miss the days when us fellas wasnt afraid to tell our woman in front of the entire world that she was the love of our lives. Teddy was the BEST!!!

  • I miss this man SO much....

  • Simply Beautiful!...as a black man, this is who I see as being a "MAN"...love yah...TEDDY BEAR!

  • Teddy had the ability to put himself into these song like he was sharing a piece of his life. It was real everytime. You can't teach that at Juliard, you can only feel it's authenticity in places like the Apollo Theater.

  • love this one

  • Real Music at it's best...R.I.P. Mr. Pendergrass...forever missed but never forgotten.

  • A motivating song indeed.

  • The Concert was at London's Hammersmith Odeon, in February 1982.

    The date is correct.

  • @NEILTHFC I can't thank you enough for posting these London concert videos. I never got to see Teddy in concert, something I will forever regret but these videos are awesome!!! So many close-ups of that beautiful face and his voice . . . he sings with such passion and emotion, it touches deep within my soul. I wish I had a DVD of this concert, I can't seem to get enough of it.

Teddy was truly in a class all by himself!!!

  • @NEILTHFC you are right i stand corrected. i just recently found this concert on dvd .

  • @NEILTHFC i finally found this available for sale recently. This will be my next purchase!

  • @mrjohnshaft1975 Where did you find it for sale please - I really need to get a copy as I was actually at this concert!

  • the posted date on this video is not correct. this actual concert is from 1979. there were two concerts done that one in london and one vegas.the one in vegas is on dvd.

  • Thank you for posting these live videos! They are the only way I'd ever get to see him perform live! Awesome!

  • Who could possibly say no.... Teddy you the MAN.

God bless you and keep you.

  • even though he was before my time he takes me back through time leaving a feeling of pure nostalgia of what real music was back in the day.

  • Yeah Teddy is a bad dude! But Marvin is the King hands down NOBODY does it better. If U love real R&B & SOUL MUSIC CHECK OUT MY CD "BedRoom Music" @cdbaby.com/cd/legendtrax

  • Teddy's in rare form ...what a show!!!

  • @12deelee - you're sooo right about that - WOW that would've been so great !!!! But this combo here - Come Go with Me and Close the Door - the two BEST R&B songs EVER !! Can't even describe what these 2 songs do to me . . . all I can say is . . . mmm ... mmm . . . mmm . . . so hot !!!

  • Such Raw Power, and still silky smooth, and his voice never cracked, always ready for a live recording!!!!

  • so much emotion and pure man power! lol how could u say no to him? lol

  • Teddy was very good and in my book, the most underrated singer of all time, but no one could bring it like Marvin.

  • LOVE IT DAME

  • Een geweldig live concert van Teddy. Helaas heeft de hedendaagse soul niet meer dit niveau. Ik hoop dat dit concert op dvd wordt uitgebracht. Bedankt voor het plaatsen Peter

  • classic

  • Without a doubt Teddy Pendergrass is the King Of R&B,and Marving Gaye is the prince in my book. Two of the greatest distinct voices of all time I just wished at once they would of collaborated to a song made by them...ahww man!!!!!!

  • @12deelee That woud have been great if they hadn't considered each other a rival. There was animosity between the two of them. Had to do with a woman. Cant remember who was dating her first. But it did cause some not to cool feelings between the two.

  • @jd7779311 teddy had an affair with marvin's 2nd wife in 78 or 79 i think ... i got this off a marvin gaye special

  • @dalrekantarah - she was separated from Marvin at the time. Teddy cleared this up in an interview he gave.

  • @12deelee would have been a bit difficult - Marvin always had doubts about the quality of his voice (preferring a heavier sound) and envied Teddy some what; to make matters worse, Teddy got a bit too close to Marvin's Mrs.

  • @12deelee they are probably doing it right now in soul heaven..i agree with you it would have been a hell of a duet

  • @12deelee You and millions of others would have loved to have witness those two do a song together....

Sadly, it wasn't meant to be :(

  • I know this concert came out on VHS, but does anyone knof if there are any plans for it to come out on DVD???

  • This is a great video so hot!!!!!!

  • @dre7236 you right about that he is the king in my book
