Saddam Hussein was put into power by the Republicans in the early 1980's with a handshake from Rumsfeld and $5 Billion dollars. They knew there were no weapons of mass destruction but Bush wanted to make a name for himself in history and attacking Iraq seemed like an easy job. It wasn't.Saddam had been contained until that time. Clinton attacked in Bosnia to prevent a situation from spreading in Europe like it did with Hitler. Ethnic cleansing in Yugoslavia could have spread to other coountries.

1) You leftists always seem to forget that we could not wait any longer for the UN to act. Think we should have waited anymore after the UN had 12 yrs to act? Why didn't the UN act? Saddam repeatedly violated 16 United Nations Security Council Resolutions by, among other things, continuing to seek and develop chemical, biological & nuclear weapons & prohibited long-range missiles, brutalizing the Iraqi people, supporting international terrorism, committing gross human rights violations, etc...
