  • This is how politics works, and the modern GOP have just been far more shameless than ever since they moved so far to the right they are not dealing with reality anymore.

I would deal with a Pre-Reagan Republicans any day over the current ones. The old Republicans were still sane, but these days it is really just lobbyists and religious zealots in a suit that dominates the right in Congress.

  • he is probably spending wisely as opposed 99% of the other bullshit....msnbc cherry picking again!

  • god damn people in this comment page are soooo fucking stupid

  • Stupid butch cunt!!! Rachel's too fucking liberal and ignorant for her own good....let alone the good of the country.

Here's a great suggestion Rachel...... just get close to matching the ratings of her competitors or shut the fuck up. Talking about getting owned.....she takes an over the knee ass whipping every day from Hannity and O'Reilly where viewership is concerned. Clearly nobody with any sense at all wants to her or see her leftist, misguided bullshit.

  • The CBO has shown that the stimulus bill created between 1 and 2.9 million jobs. Jobs that wouldn't have been available otherwise!

  • rachel shows the lies of the right!

  • fucking commie

  • @nubnukka Stupid conservative jerk!

  • Rachel Maddow, Keith Olbermann, Ed Shultz, and Cenk Uygur are great truth-tellers and great Americans.

Teabaggers(i.e. Republicans too stupid to shut up) are anti-American, anti-Constitution mental-midgets who are enabling terrorists, China, Russia, and Mid East tyrants to enslave Americans.

  • @dizzymasekela truth tellers? lmao anti-constitution? your an idiot sir, you and your minions are the reason this country will fall.

  • @con1633 You sound like one of the Conservatives that caused the mess we're in!

  • @jrwel14 ohhhh we caused the mess blah blah blah! spare me..your liberal president has quadrupled..hear me again..QUADRUPLED! the debt in 31/2 years..thats about three more wars added on. stimulus might have created 1 to 2.9 million jobs, but obamacare, has caused companies get this fact: 5 million job losses, check Rasmussen statistical analysis if u must. bottom line, didnt work and his policies dont work, we are capitalist, not socialist, and he has no clue how to create jobs, not one.

  • @con1633 Quit your conservative lying. Reagan took the debt and increased it as much as all the past presidents combined. Bush took a 5 trillion dollar surplus and according to the CBO increased the debt by 10 trillion in 32 months. When Obama took office, he took a 10 trillion dollar debt and turned it into 14 trillion. Look up Presidential debt. If, you can take the truth. Never knew one conservative who could!

  • @jrwel14 How is the Reagan comment possible? we have never been this high in debt, EVER! your an idiot, please stop hurting yourself. just accept the fact that this guy, the anointed messiah, is as bad as George Bush if not worse.. im a conservative yes, do i believe george bush was a terrible president, yes i do. Stop making the excuses for this guy who had a democratic congress, filabuster senate for 2 years. you libs cant stop spending. two most liberal states: Cali/NY..accumulate 20%of debt.

  • @con1633 Knew you wouldn't look up Presidential debt! Reagan took a 50 year low in the debt, lied, to give the rich tax cuts and started the debt to the moon. Every year, except for Clinton, the debt was higher. But, the GOP did worse in increaseing the debt than Dems. even Carter did better with the debt than Reagan and both Bushs. No excuses, just won't be a conservative and lie. The current GOP Congress holds the record for fillabusters. Truman called them the Do nothing Congress in 1948.

  • @jrwel14 i actually did. i also looked up President Jimmy Carter, which the unemployment rate was at 9%, like now...Reagan had to spend, and he raised the limit 17 times...but the difference is...when he spent, the economy was was moving upward, and not in uncertainty, this guy is spending money, when our markets are at an all time low in confidence. People were waiting in gas lines under carter. And Clinton reaped the benefits of the invention of cellular phones and computers.

  • @con1633 The gas lines under Carter? It was the oil embargo. Blaming Carter for that is like blaming Bush for $147.00 oil. And, Obama for the mideast riots . which caused oil to go up. But, your a conservative. Gotta blame someone else, right? Could send you the link that the Dems have done better with unemployment rates than the GOP. All, but GOP pres have raised it. Only Ragan lowered it. But, he increased government workers .

Only Obama has raised it. The others lowered it.(cont'd)

  • @jrwel14 Carter, unempolyment stayed the same.

  • I have a paper, I will read you the parts I like, I have another paper, I will read you the parts I like, I will use the Wall Street Journal as a source, it's not really in the paper but we don't really need to explain that. A complete waste of time, how can MSNBC have the morning programming they do ( honest a infromative ) and this?? She is a lazy journalist pundit.

  • She's a mad lesbian. Nothing more.

  • @jupitercrash07 A raving mad lesbian, and I love it. I don't think anyone could do what she does here as well as she does.

  • @jupitercrash07 Your a jerk. Nothing more!

  • Funny how the ONLY thing they can attack her on is her being a lesbian. they must be like hear no evil, see no evil!

  • Each of these horror stories you cite, if true, should be reported to the relevant authorities, so that it be reformed, because the delivery of the help should be more efficient. But you're arguing that it won't work, and then, presented with proof that it does work, you say the problem is that it's not being applied correctly. That shifting of arguments shows you're just being partisan. We need stimulus. Private industry can't do it. The taxpayers can't. But the government can.

  • Great report, but a waste of breath. The mouth breathers that follow these slimes could see them devouring babies in their offices and they wouldn't care as long as they weren't "libs!"

I don't see much hope for a country in which nearly 50% of the population intend to stay willfully ignorant no matter what the costs to them and their families.

  • More waste -- The Obama administration is spending $5 billion to weatherize homes. But one Texas county spent $4 million to weatherize just 47 homes. That's $78,000 per house. Each retrofit is supposed to save homeowners $500 a year in energy costs. That means taxpayers will recoup their investment in 156 years, long after the home is probably torn down.

  • What a waste of money it is

-- Researchers the State University of New York at Buffalo got $389,000 to pay 100 Buffalonians $45 each to record how much malt liquor they drink -- and how much pot smoke each day. Consumption is then reported via an automated phone hotline. Cost per job: almost $200,000.

  • The reason the Republicans are against this is not that it won't create jobs it's the who and what!

-- $233,000 to the University of California at San Diego to study why Africans vote. Jobs created: 12, 7 of those are Africans in Africa.

-- In Nevada, $2 million in stimulus money built a new fire station, but because of budget cuts, the county can't afford to hire firefighters to use it.

-- Penn State University got $1.5 million to study fossils in Argentina. 5 jobs created, 2 to Argentines.

  • If you blast the stimulus, you don't ask for it's money. Period.

If you fundamentally disagree with a program, you don't participate, period. If you see this as a transfer of wealth program, participating in it means you (in one way or another) approve of the program. Failing to understand that many people may view one's accepting money from this program as a stamp of approval (at least in part) demonstrates a failure in communication, or at least in common sense.

    This is not difficult.

  • Rachel (normally I love her) is playing dumb here.

What Republicans were saying was that in total the stimulus was not going to create jobs.

Of course it can create jobs locally. Nobody disputes that. The question is whether it creates more jobs than the jobs it destroys through increased defecits and future tax hikes. If the money is going to be spent, of course all representatives want the money to be spent in their districts.

  • @smashing86 "The question is whether it creates more jobs than it destroys through increased deficits and future tax hikes." False opposition. You're leaving out the fact that even now, aggregate demand is higher than it would be without the stimulus. It has created millions of jobs, just not enough to make up for the jobs lost. Once the economy recovers, we'll have debt to pay off. Big yip. We paid for the World War II and Depression debt by 1970. Such horrible years -- oh, no, they weren't.

  • THE NEWS IS RETARDED
