Yes, we sang it as kids in Japan in the 1960s. The words in Japanese don't sound exactly as I recall, but then again I was only abut 5 or 6.

I cringed when the English verses were sang, but I would sing copying the Japanese verses. I don't know why. I still love this song though, first heard it when I was 7
