David Fincher is one of my favorite directors. After brilliant Seven, Alien 3, Fight Club and Panic Room I had to watch Zodiac too. It was real challenge cause the story is based on true events. The whole film was good but still not what I'd expect. The atmos[here wasn't as scary/thrilling as it was in The Silence of the Lambs, Copycat, Seven or even The Zodiac (version 2005 with Justin Chambers & Robin Tunney). Anyway Mark Ruffalo showed brilliant acting. Gyllenhaal & Downey Jr. were great too
Mark sits in front of his laptop. He types something and clicks the mouse. Arthur Leigh Allen's profile shows up on the screen. He clicks "Add as a Friend." Fade out.
@CooperSnow learn to have patience use your brain for once. youd be into these movies if you stop watching all of those little wimpy kid movies. this is a great movie in my opinion
It's clear that you hated the movie haha. but worst ever? Have you ever seen Battlefield Earth, any movie by michael bay, any movie by Uwe Boll, disaster movie, epic movie, Ballistic ect.
Now, maybe badass is the wrong word, but in my personal opinion a great movie. It's quiet. It's dialogue driven, but also fascinating, at least to me. Gyllenhaal, Downey Jr and ruffalo were all great. I also found some scenes to be genuinely creepy.
it would be totaaly awesome if they had this trailer, and then at the end 9the basement scene) they made it into a screamer. it would be such a good one. i would never guess until i watched it. but the best screamers are definitely the classic 'ghost' themed ones. lol :D
hey is the song that styarts playing at 1:07 the same song thats played IN THE MOVIE as soon as he shoots the guy (:39 seconds in this clip) in the car?
ahhh yeahhh nevmind it is hurdy gurdy man .. i liked it as soon as it started playing in the movie ... cool song xept i think the version played in the movie when he shoots the guy is slightly heavier ... dunno gotta watch it again
The woman in the trailer that the Zodiac killer picks up, is played by actress Ione Skye, her father is singer Donovan---who of course is the singer of "hurdy gurdy man."
" "Hurdy Gurdy Man" was most recently used David Fincher's 2007 film Zodiac, in the film Man of the Year (2006), starring Robin Williams, in the 2006 film Bobby, in the 2002 independent film Spun, in Michael Cuesta's 2001 film L.I.E., and in Barry Levinson's 1996 film Sleepers" (wikipedia). Wow! that's a lot! I suppose we haven't been the only people looking for it after hearing it in a film... lol
On a second thought, Stefloyd, are you sure about the song ? Searching for it on google, the only thing I find about it is a cheesy Radio Jingle ... " KSFO - The sound of the city"
Oh! Sorry for giving you wrong a wrong piece of information. I was absolutely certain about The Sound Of The City, that's what I was told but eh, you've got the right one now, so it's all good. Thank you for telling me how to find it,I'll try and download it soon.

The song the begins after the scene where Paul Stine (cab driver) gets shot is NOT "Hurdy Gurdy Man".
I saw this movie 6 months ago, and I still don't know what the name of THAT one is.
If anyone knows, help me out. Thanks. :-(

Oops! Sorry. We were referring to different scenes.
YES! They play "Hurdy Gurdy Man" two times in the movie: when he starts shooting Mageau and Ferrin, and at the very end.

What's the atmospheric song played before "Hurdy Gurdy Man"?

Yeah amazing movie!
Hardly better than Fight Club though.
This is the trailer they showed in France, but translated, of course. I like it a lot.
By the way, the song is THE SOUND OF THE CITY by Johnny Mann Singers :)

Ok, I got it, Stefloyd smoked some bad sh*** ....
The song is actually "Hurdy Gurdy Man" by Donavan (listed on the original soundtrack).
Look for it on amazon (co DOT uk or DOT com) : album " Hurdy Gurdy Man: Remastered ", there will be a link to listen a short piece of the song.
