And while Obama is doing all that he says he will do, he will take only three days from his busy schedule to visit his "Father who art in Heaven". Does he really believe the people of America is buying his rhetoric of moral supremacy? The man is delusional!
Obama is a puppet of the Global Elite & is full of rhetoric. He & McCane are the same. Don't vote for McBama! Vote 4 CHUCK BALDWIN, Ron Paul's choice. Obama will keep the Troops there. He won't admit that 911 was an Inside Job, meant to perpetuate War & oppression. He's a member of the fascist Council On Foreign Relations, & he attended Bilderberg in '08. Why am listening to a South American Marxist comment on U.S. foreign policy? Shouldn't shifty interloper be splitting a bottle of Chivas with Raul Castro instead of lurking in front of the White House?

I agree! The 2 Party system is a Farce! In European countries the candidates are for as many as 10 different parties. It's kind of like haveing an ice cream shop and only having 2 flavors to choose from: Vanilla, Chocolate. Not only do you only have 2 flavors, the flavors never rotate or change to new ones. You never get to try cappucino, strawberry, key lime, etc...
Trust Me I want for America to move on and leave Iraq & Afghanistan Victoriously just as much as anyone here does but lets face until their governments step up and take their share of the load We won't be able to do so. Trust Me its not that I don't want us to leave, I just don't want Us to have to go back as soon as terrorism re-roots itself in those Countries.
Amerika is the safest country in the world to outside threats. The only factors that contribute to their riskfactor is their militairy precense in the Middle east and their guarding and protecting the war crimes of Israel. If you takes this factors away then there is no safer place then America except for the internal criminality and the corruption in the goverment. Obama, McCain all work for Aipac and Main Companies which rule America.
This is just another example of Obama molding his policies to what he thinks Americans want to hear. He is a flipflopper, a chameleon, a shape changer. I think somewhere in there he slipped in "2 brigades to Afganistan" ....what? How bout no brigades to Afgan. and complete withdrawal from the region. Fuck Oil. The rich assholes that are hell bent for it can have thier own children fight in Iraq. Just remember through all the bullshit, Its ALL about OIL, thats why we are over there.
Obama ... you said you were going to bring ALL the troops home? WHY ARE YOU CHANGING YOUR TUNE? OR WAS THIS JUST A BAIT AND SWITCH JOB...
The huge flip-flops you have made make John Kerry (the Flip Flopper of 2004) look like a Principled Politician. You are a pathetic panderer and deserve support from NO ONE!
You are nothing more than just another slick politician that has fleeced millions of people
by with your lies of HOPE and CHANGE.... YOU DISGUST ME!!!
Do We simply stop fighting the War on Terror and hope that terrorism doesn't follow us back to the United States and unless havok like We have never seen. This shit here is how Rome fell, it's support waned and barbarians burned it to the Ground, should We not learn from that mistake. Don't let this Country burn just because some one who thinks they've got the right answer tells you to, We loose our Ground in the Mid-East We loose it all and there will be horrors like We have never seen.
Terrorism is not some 'new' thing it is a constant problem that grows worse from discontent with corrupt policies, high levels of inequality and heavy handed behavior by those with power. But support for people that encourage violence shrinks when governments and other power structures are responsive. Regardless there is always going to be those that 'rebel' but our destruction wont come from foreign or domestic terrorists it will be from the government that rots in its own corruption. Rome
So what do We do. Just leave Afghanistan and Iraq, cross our fingers and hope that terrorist and tyranical ragimes do not return to these Countries. And what about bin laden do we give up on finding him as well?
We let those countries determine their own future and if they become a threat to their neighbors a consensus (of informed people and governments) can act through whatever appropriate means are required. Not unilaterally with no regard for anything else. As for BL, if he is even still alive and the gov really wanted him dont you think we would have found him by now or have at least come close a few times? Besides his power to influence and gain support would be decimated if our policies changed.
I'll admit I am no fan of McCain but obama bin laden up there would be ten times worse for this Country. The frightening thing about that though is I think obama knows but still wants the Presidency just so that he can persue an agenda that makes this Country even weaker in the long run. Lets face it obama like karry was IS a mole of the united nations.
The only reason Obama is worse than McCain is the fact that he is smarter, slicker, younger, better spoken, better looking and better at lying. This is a dangerous man who could do great things or more likely terrible things. Far more dangerous than McC.
Obama's "residuals" are estimated to be 60,000 troops in Iraq and who knows what he wants to with all the profiteers that are over there. I want Nader! Do your job, Real News!
Our Military Empire will eventually end and then We the people are going to suffer some hardcore Police state actions from our corrupt,Elitist Government!
FUCK YOU OBAMA,McCAIN. FUCKING PIECE OF SHIT TRAITORS!!!!!!!!!!
"residual force" LOL got to love that euphemism. Obama is a very crafty liar, he always chooses the right words ("refine") to leave himself wiggle room when he has to back peddle on his promises. i would never vote for this corporate stooge, i don't care how terrible mccain is.
Exactly - and that is why he makes me so angry. All he did during Primary season was say he would end the war "I WAS OPPOSED TO FROM THE BEGINNING" now that he wrapped that up, he is singing a different tune. We spend TRILLIONS of dollars we can't afford, we are in debt to the tune of 30,000 per American and he proposed BILLION dollar bills? He is no different. I think many Obama supporters are waking up up to that fact.
About the 'non-military aid to Pakistan' -possible translation- entitle people, once hooked the Pakistani gov (controlled by elite few and beholden to the US) then has leverage to take away money/services, plus the 'westernization and commercialization' process can begin. All the while we gear down in Iraq, spike in Afgan and ratchet heat up on Iran, in a year or so he can move troops in from all sides and start WWIII...or maybe he really believes his BS is the answer but I doubt it hes not dumb
obama is an actor! a traitor and a lier (FISA), scum on earth! he represents: the CFR, the Bilderberg group, the trilateral commission, international bankers, the neo cons. vote for him and you get your ass kicked real good! we got FISA from him, isnt it good enough? thanks to him, the scum in the white house can wiretap any phone call and e-mail we do, do you like the idea, so vote for him but dont complain later when they force you on the trains taking you to the concentration camps!!!
All of this just shows that everyone has this 'War on Terror' stuck up their ass. Just like in '1984'the politicos control the political agenda and thus the direction of society through a manufactured and sustained global war in central Asia. Meanwhile humanity's liberties fade away. It's not about Old Swammi been laughin'. It's not about terror. That's all a charade. It's about control-monetary and philosophical. It's about the big game of POWER even though all the people want is to be free.
Yeah, We thought he was for real. Juat another Israeli puppet for the banks. Narco-terrorist? for real? Common...seriously?
Yeah, just enough 'vague language' to continue the exact same agenda as the Bush Administration. Thanks for trying to fool us again, but we are wise to you now NeoCons.
Notice he doesn't say "When the Iraqi government is ready for us to leave" it is "When they obey us!" We'll get out of their ass. Yeah...Enough American Island Resorts for the Senate.
Wow, "we should have gone forward with international law." Right after 9/11 the BBC was reporting the Taliban's offer to SURRENDER Osama to an international court. NONE of what BushCo have done has been necessary. And Nader is the only one with the backbone and brain to say so. It can't change anything to vote for a clown or a liar. Go Ralph.
30000 residual forces - and what is with the over 100.000 mercenaries of blackwater and alikes? lawless security for the rich - what kind of security is supposed to emerge out of such a legacy, iraq could become another russia
Obama "we'll finish the fight against Al Qaeda." What does that mean? Kill them all? Killing one creates 10. AQ says they will fight UNTIL the U.S. and Israel change certain ways and policies toward their countries. Not forever. We're the ones promising eternal war. It's time for the American Empire to get with world realities, maybe for the first time....NADER. PERIOD.
"Bush burned down a haystack to try to find a couple of needles. He didn't find the needles, but there have been 1000s of innocent deaths."
Nader says he would have organized a modest multinational force and sent them into Afghanistan to arrest Osama bin Laden, a kind of police raid. Then he would have tried him at The Hague."Sept. 11 was an international crime, a massacre," Nader said in 2002. "We should have gone forward with international law."
0613162k: There's no need for it to have been an international force. The attacks of 9/11 were an attack against *America* no matter who conducted them, so it was America that was responsible for finding the perpetrators. Ron Paul promotes issuing "letters of marque and reprisle" which would have been to the same end as what Nader was promoting: a small, highly-targeted number of people seeking a compensatory "bounty" for their actions. The perpetrators brought to justice for $1B or so.
The idea of involving a large amount of money for handing them in may still make US fall into the trap of funding yet another faction which will turn around and attck them in the future. After all the US government had funded Al Aqdea, they had sold weapons to Suddan Hussein. It's using US taxpayers money to threten US national security.
But it should've been targetted. Not a war but like a police arrest like London, Madrid & others handled teroist bombings rationally without revenge.
I agree; it was a criminal act, and needed to be treated as a police action. But you have misinterpreted the letters of marque and reprisal. It's not an open bounty. It's targeted, effectively creating the "police" that bring about the police action....since it's done internationally. I'm not an expert on it, so I'm at my limit of understanding of the mechanics, but it's a system that has worked historically, and is - importantly - *Constitutional*.
It's complicated. I'm glad we don't have to be in the position to make the decission of what to do. But we certainly know what not to do which is the continuation of the current bad stratedgy of hunting terroist around the world and that ivoles spreading occupation creating more resistance.
The problem I see with my lefty brethren like Pepe, is that its all about bitching rather than dealing with a nasty reality. In Obama, I see a guy getting handed a dripping shit sandwich and trying to figure out how to choke it down. Also he has to play to the middle of the bell curve to get elected.
The situation is broken, and restoring it is going to take time, $, and a lot of wasted lives on all sides. If we up and leave in either theater of this war, there will be hell to pay.
Hell to pay by whom? Are all those 'terrorists' going to jump on boats and planes to fight us here in America? Some might but most are phantoms who will disappear back to their homes, especially if we changed the way we approach foreign policy. Besides if we brought all the troops home and took 1/4 of the money spent every year on this mess we could fortify this country like Fort Knox. Oh yeah we dont worry about security there anymore either! Instead we send them in harms way and profit! Sick
If you want to be president you have to keep focused on stealing all the oil out of the middle east and selling it at inflated prices; so no matter what he says, that is what he is going to do. The plan is in place, but the voters are not privy to it. It includes the Dubai Peninsula and those new man made islands. As soon as that narrows is blocked to shipping there will be a manufactured shortage, but there will be a super refinery along the super pipe in Dubai. You will be paying 3 times.
I never understood whats so great about obama, hes got this blackish skin that some people seem to be into. Now if the color of skin is the only important thing to look for, why not vote for the green party???
The problem is not the president, it is electoral system, which denies every individual access to political decision making. The facades and the flags represent only tyranny.
Obama says, the war was tactially wrong. What an idiot. He says "tactically", he doesnt say the war was wrong because of morality and the million of dead iraqi, he doesnt say the war was wrong, because US broke the most fundamental international laws: the UN-Charta and thus the own constitution. He says "tactically" wrong. But of course, he is better than Mccaine.
Well, the difference between you and me is the following: I know that german corporations have dealt with Saddam by delivering materials (materials!) for building chemical weapons. Actually I am making this public in germany, so that these corporation get punished.
You DENY that your government sold materials for chemical weapons. Thats not true. Couple of months before the invasion of Kuwait started, bob dole, a diplomat was...
sent by George Bush I to let Saddam know: "that he should not worry about some few american journalists who wrote about the kurdish killings" and they would handle it" (they kicked these journalists out of their office).
But your whole comment didnt base on my perception that Obamas politics is as usual, he is only a "soft" imperialist with a good campaign (he is of course better than Mccaine). For me its important, that you stop him, when he is willing for a new illegal and illegtimate war.
Of course I understand the word imperialism. And yes, the international court in Deen Haag sentenced the US for helping terrorism in Nicaragua. But the US-government refused it and threatened the court. By the way: The US and of course many other powerful states (russia, china, england) have vetod in the security council every attempt of the UN to make a law, that persecutes and punishes every
misstreatment of the UN-Charta. So they cant be sentenced, cause they block the persecution.
The US broke the UN-Charta many many times, which is the highest law in international law. It was made in Nurnberg to sentence generals of the Hitler Regime. The creator of the UN-Charta said, that a war of aggression is the supreme crime ever. Its the only crime which imcompenses the crimes that follow. the US can not be prosecuted, because it (+china, england, russia...) can veto his own accusation, thats why they dont get sentenced.
No its a war of absolute waste of blood and wealth, Watch the Doc. "No end insight", tells of the total incompetance in running the war. The US can't even take care of their own soilder's, leave it up to finest individuals to solve their own problems. The "Bush" government is not only the worst administration in US history, they might be the shittiest in recorded history.
One documentary is the absolute worlds truth. How naive are you?
I am a former US soldier and i have been taken care of.
Are you on crack? So by your reckoning the Bush Admin. is worse than Hitler's, Stalin's, Mugabe's, and hundreds of other obviously worse Administrations. Get some perspective.
There's plenty of vets in dire straits, I heard as many as 250,000 are homeless. It seems to be hit and miss with the vets. Hitler, Stalin and Mugabe , Bush...all have one thing in common, they took a once properous country and ran it in to the ground. Bush has taken the most beautiful country into a shell of what it was. Do you not find it painful to see the big 3 auto makers lay off workers, cutting back production. Bush has the US dollar to work with, its lost 30% in the last 3 years.
Being a vet does not give you a lifetime of entitlement. How may vets are upstanding citizens on their own merit. Bet its more than 250,000. Okay the Big 3 have been laying people of for the last 15 years. Currency rises and falls. The weak dollar is helping exports tremendously. The US a SHELL have you been to the US lately? You really are on something.
How about minding your own business, and start taking care of your own people and soil. You can start by securing the Mexican, US Border. Not going to happen,..
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
This is hilarious a Canadian on the Realnews page telling me to mind MY business. Realnew is a Canadian liberal media outlet masquerading as and American media outlet to try and influence American politics. Mind Your own business.
The Real News is based in New York, Washington and Toronto. Check out the board on their web site, you will see many Americans. Pepe Escobar is from Brazil. And you are shooting the messenger, rather than dealing with the content.
That's hypocritical to say other countries can have no say on US foreign policy, considering US foreign policy is an occupational interventionist forign policy in waging war to "spread democracy" in any country without consent from the national and international public.
indeed, and since the usa itself is struggling hard with fascism (severe corruption, secrecy, worst press freedom in western world aso.) it would be a very questionable authority anyway, and the absurd concept of the US spreading democracy with war is merely a pretext for the lowest levels of the mob, no slightly informed person could take it seriously, needless to say that europe should take a much harder stance against the US policies
lie one, America is severely corrupt. US is in the same category as Germany and Spain for level of corruption. lie two, worst press freedom in the western world. Ridiculas comment, Like Europe has the ability to stand up to the US. Europeans can not even stand up to muslims taking there rights away in there own countries.
Please tell me how american foreign policy have affected your Life. The idea that other countries should have a say in a sovereign democratically elected states politics is ridiculous.
US foreign policy involves war & occupation in many countries & so the people in those countries that you claim to be fighting for should be consulted. It is often the civilians killed in the conflict to "spread democracy" & "fight terroists".
Also US foreign policy has dominant influence over NATO nations.Being from Britain, our public was 100% against the Iraq war & we were drsgged due to the US Presiden's influence over our government at the expense of our national security.
Britain's public was 100% against the War? well i was in BG in 2004 and met at lest 4 people that supported the war. So i talked to probably 20 people a least 4 supported the war. that's a little ways from 100%. Why do you liberals insist on lying all the time.
occupation? we have wanted to stop[ military operations from the day we captured baghdad. i agree we should consult the people of the countries we fight in. I will ask the Kurds of northern Iraq first.
In Europe, what American's call "liberal" is centrist in Eurpope.
Wr're anti guns, anti death penalty, single payer universal healthcare. So that would make you out of touch with the majority of us thank you.
Draging Britain into the Iraq war makes me wish Britain became closer to the EU who notice didn't join in America's invasion in Iraq. 4 people out of 20 is a minoority and it would've been less before the war actually started. The public was never consulted yet we get blamed.
4 out of 20 is not 100% is it? So you lied thinking I'm some ignorant American that you could dupe.
Why would America strive to be like Europe? Its just your typical eurocentric supremacy complex that makes you think the world should be politically just like you.
EU? EU is a joke. Who cares what they do. I think the EU's recycle policy has more effect on your life than American politics.
I love how you speak for every Britain. You might want to work on that.
You seem to think you speak for every American. And also you should see that whilst 4 individuals in Britain you talked to may have been for it, 16 individuals you talked to were against it which is an overwhelming majority in 2004 alone. That number is likely to have risen even higher after the 7/7 London bombings where we were blamed for our governments actions that didn't represent us.
If the majority of us were against the war, why should the US President's decission take priority.
every thing i say is my opinion. I did not say 16 were for it. I did not talk politics while i was in GB. The 4 where just people that said stuff like "fuck thoughts bloody towel heads" and " America and GB great team". So the other 16 i just talked to about normal stuff may well have been for the war.
Your such a pussy, blaming 7/7 on America. You do that because you can't blame the Muslims responsible they will retaliate.
The people who did were entitely responsible as they decided to bomb innocent people that had nothing to do with the war & they knew that. The people responsible were British and they killed innocent Muslims in those attacks as well.I hate them fo doing that. But I also hate our government for dragging us into a war that we never wanted, just because the US Preseident wanted it.That's why it's important to get the views of the public in each nation before influencing their foreign policy.
You make a lot of sense in this statement and i apologize for my derogate comments. My problem is people like you who hate Bush come and tell absolute lies about America. This irrational hatred of America is based in ignorance. I feel i have the right to point out blatant lies told by Europeans brainwashed by there media and cultural attitudes.
I don't hate America. To this day I sympathise with the innocen victims of 9/11. But I also equally sympahise with all the innocent civilians killed in the Iraq war and Afghanistan war.
There are peaceful voices in every country and there are also militant ones and unfortunatly the militant voices seem to be in power in government, and in extremist groups in many countries around the world right now, overiding the silent and silenced majority that don't want be involved in a war.
Like I said above, you good people aren't going to take care of your own country, and will be spending yourself into oblivian. You're not going to mind your own business, and the your own citizens are going to suffer.
I'm from Canada, where the news we get is censored. The whole world's economy is toast, because the governments can't stop printing money. Look up "The Lisbon Treaty", the nice folks in charge are turning Europe into the 4th riech.
If a government (I'm being general here because its looks like ALL governments can't take care of their own populations,) what good does it do trying to dicatate your failure to other obvious failures in government ? For example, Mugabe has been screwing up his country for the last 20 years, does the UN do anything, nope. Can we even trust the UN ? Nope their as corrupt as anybody ie food for oil program. NATO (40 countries) can't even get their shit together to secure Afganistan.
fact - mccain also wanted to bomb north korea instead of pursuing diplomatic solutions. Look how much more sucessful we've been with north korea - a country that actually has nukes, than iraq. If you want to take someones foreign policy you can't just take the few instances it may have worked a little and highlight their opponent opposing it. You have to take the entire package. Also this piece is highly critical of obama's plan - it definitely doesn't say its the best - only better.
FACT : The war in Iraq is going to cost the US government 3.4 trillion dollars, and after all that its still going to be a shit hole of a country. Mean while back at the ranch the US economy is imploding, 3.4 trillion invested into America would have turned the country into a modern marvel, all you'll get for your investment is change in how many calories you get to intake daily.
look at the history of iran/shah..iran is gonna vote next year, too..stalling? the wmd's were gone from iraq before we got there i think..and if iranians are so moderate why can't we just go hang out for a while at the nuclear facilities? If everyone is so moderate where's the intel on TERRORISTS who should be viewed as enemies of the world? then we could all just move on! oh yeah that's right terrorists are for HIRE.
despite all the misinformation etc..jihad is real people..iran is a threat, afghan just wasted another group of soldiers..those peasants growing opium didn't tip them off, you know..and if pakistan is harboring terrorists which are our enemies then they are a threat too..remember the good old days when speeches were about education and balancing the budget..what a nightmare..
If Bush's domestic policy is wife beating...then apparently Obama is going to continue the beating...vote Obama for a more sensible domestic policy of wife beating. Real change folks!
American politicians talk as if they have the last say on Iraqi affairs LMAO, too bad Iraq just said NO to a security pact which means the US can't just go and hunt those it deems as terrorists, Iraqis decide what happens in Iraq not Americans.
I have actually been seeing more Obama criticism as of late after his vote for FISA. But it is not enough unfortunately for them to not vote D because they are more afraid of the Republicans.
check your history. The Clinton admin was AOK with the taliban until they refused the final offer from UNOCAL for 12.5 pounds to protect the proposed natural gas pipeline. Then they turned to the Northern Alliance of Ruthless Drug Lords who rounded up everyone in Afghanistan with a foreign ID and sold them to us for 1000 to 15000 dollars apiece as foreign fighters. How would you like to end up in guantanimo because a drug lord sold you out for cash?
The Real News should also include subtitles for the non native english speakers. I mean, I can understand him pretty well, but subtitles would help also.
And while Obama is doing all that he says he will do, he will take only three days from his busy schedule to visit his "Father who art in Heaven". Does he really believe the people of America is buying his rhetoric of moral supremacy? The man is delusional!

I love to see Americans soldiers die, but Iraq is kind of an old scene. Americans dying in Afghanistan is more exciting.

Nightshift10000 3 years ago

Nightshift10000 3 years ago

Nightshift10000 3 years ago
The only reason Obama is worse than McCain is the fact that he is smarter, slicker, younger, better spoken, better looking and better at lying. This is a dangerous man who could do great things or more likely terrible things. Far more dangerous than McC.

Ralph Nader on Afghanistan war in 2002:
"Bush burned down a haystack to try to find a couple of needles. He didn't find the needles, but there have been 1000s of innocent deaths."
Nader says he would have organized a modest multinational force and sent them into Afghanistan to arrest Osama bin Laden, a kind of police raid. Then he would have tried him at The Hague."Sept. 11 was an international crime, a massacre," Nader said in 2002. "We should have gone forward with international law."
0613162k 3 years ago
0613162k: There's no need for it to have been an international force. The attacks of 9/11 were an attack against *America* no matter who conducted them, so it was America that was responsible for finding the perpetrators. Ron Paul promotes issuing "letters of marque and reprisle" which would have been to the same end as what Nader was promoting: a small, highly-targeted number of people seeking a compensatory "bounty" for their actions. The perpetrators brought to justice for $1B or so.
lastnymleft 3 years ago
The idea of involving a large amount of money for handing them in may still make US fall into the trap of funding yet another faction which will turn around and attck them in the future. After all the US government had funded Al Aqdea, they had sold weapons to Suddan Hussein. It's using US taxpayers money to threten US national security.
But it should've been targetted. Not a war but like a police arrest like London, Madrid & others handled teroist bombings rationally without revenge.
0613162k 3 years ago
I agree; it was a criminal act, and needed to be treated as a police action. But you have misinterpreted the letters of marque and reprisal. It's not an open bounty. It's targeted, effectively creating the "police" that bring about the police action....since it's done internationally. I'm not an expert on it, so I'm at my limit of understanding of the mechanics, but it's a system that has worked historically, and is - importantly - *Constitutional*.
lastnymleft 3 years ago 2

If we up and leave in either theater of this war, there will be hell to pay.
moejardines 3 years ago

Staubdumm 3 years ago
You have no moral high ground.
A German company built Saddam a chemical weapons factory disguised as fertilizer factory.
Germany also sold Saddam chemical weapons. The US never sold any chemical weapons to Saddam.
How about the morality of the Iranians and kurds killed by German chemical weapons.
blackxavior 3 years ago
Well, the difference between you and me is the following: I know that german corporations have dealt with Saddam by delivering materials (materials!) for building chemical weapons. Actually I am making this public in germany, so that these corporation get punished.
You DENY that your government sold materials for chemical weapons. Thats not true. Couple of months before the invasion of Kuwait started, bob dole, a diplomat was...
Staubdumm 3 years ago
sent by George Bush I to let Saddam know: "that he should not worry about some few american journalists who wrote about the kurdish killings" and they would handle it" (they kicked these journalists out of their office).
But your whole comment didnt base on my perception that Obamas politics is as usual, he is only a "soft" imperialist with a good campaign (he is of course better than Mccaine). For me its important, that you stop him, when he is willing for a new illegal and illegtimate war.
Staubdumm 3 years ago

blackxavior 3 years ago
Of course I understand the word imperialism. And yes, the international court in Deen Haag sentenced the US for helping terrorism in Nicaragua. But the US-government refused it and threatened the court. By the way: The US and of course many other powerful states (russia, china, england) have vetod in the security council every attempt of the UN to make a law, that persecutes and punishes every
misstreatment of the UN-Charta. So they cant be sentenced, cause they block the persecution.
Staubdumm 3 years ago 2
I said war guy. If the US indisputably broke the law then there would be no problem to take The US to court.
The War in Iraq is in the gray area so no one has the balls to prosecute.
blackxavior 3 years ago
The US broke the UN-Charta many many times, which is the highest law in international law. It was made in Nurnberg to sentence generals of the Hitler Regime. The creator of the UN-Charta said, that a war of aggression is the supreme crime ever. Its the only crime which imcompenses the crimes that follow. the US can not be prosecuted, because it (+china, england, russia...) can veto his own accusation, thats why they dont get sentenced.
Staubdumm 3 years ago 2
Iraq war is not a war of aggression.

No its a war of absolute waste of blood and wealth, Watch the Doc. "No end insight", tells of the total incompetance in running the war. There's plenty of vets in dire straits, I heard as many as 250,000 are homeless. It seems to be hit and miss with the vets. That's hypocritical to say other countries can have no say on US foreign policy, considering US foreign policy is an occupational interventionist forign policy in waging war to "spread democracy" in any country without consent from the national and international public.
0613162k 3 years ago 3
indeed, and since the usa itself is struggling hard with fascism (severe corruption, secrecy, worst press freedom in western world aso.) it would be a very questionable authority anyway, and the absurd concept of the US spreading democracy with war is merely a pretext for the lowest levels of the mob, no slightly informed person could take it seriously, needless to say that europe should take a much harder stance against the US policies
random0815 3 years ago 2

US foreign policy involves war & occupation in many countries & so the people in those countries that you claim to be fighting for should be consulted. It is often the civilians killed in the conflict to "spread democracy" & "fight terroists".
Also US foreign policy has dominant influence over NATO nations.Being from Britain, our public was 100% against the Iraq war & we were drsgged due to the US Presiden's influence over our government at the expense of our national security.
0613162k 3 years ago
Britain's public was 100% against the War? well i was in BG in 2004 and met at lest 4 people that supported the war. So i talked to probably 20 people a least 4 supported the war. that's a little ways from 100%. Why do you liberals insist on lying all the time.
occupation? we have wanted to stop[ military operations from the day we captured baghdad. i agree we should consult the people of the countries we fight in. I will ask the Kurds of northern Iraq first.
blackxavior 3 years ago
In Europe, what American's call "liberal" is centrist in Eurpope.
Wr're anti guns, anti death penalty, single payer universal healthcare. So that would make you out of touch with the majority of us thank you.
Draging Britain into the Iraq war makes me wish Britain became closer to the EU who notice didn't join in America's invasion in Iraq. 4 people out of 20 is a minoority and it would've been less before the war actually started. The public was never consulted yet we get blamed.
0613162k 3 years ago
4 out of 20 is not 100% is it? So you lied thinking I'm some ignorant American that you could dupe.
Why would America strive to be like Europe? Its just your typical eurocentric supremacy complex that makes you think the world should be politically just like you.
EU? EU is a joke. Who cares what they do. I think the EU's recycle policy has more effect on your life than American politics.
I love how you speak for every Britain. You might want to work on that.
blackxavior 3 years ago
You seem to think you speak for every American. And also you should see that whilst 4 individuals in Britain you talked to may have been for it, 16 individuals you talked to were against it which is an overwhelming majority in 2004 alone. That number is likely to have risen even higher after the 7/7 London bombings where we were blamed for our governments actions that didn't represent us.
If the majority of us were against the war, why should the US President's decission take priority.
0613162k 3 years ago
every thing i say is my opinion.
You do that because you can't blame the Muslims responsible they will retaliate.
blackxavior 3 years ago
It is easy to just say it Americas fault because there will be no retaliation or consequences.

0613162k 3 years ago
You make a lot of sense in this statement and i apologize for my derogate comments. My problem is people like you who hate Bush come and tell absolute lies about America.

I like the Real News, but I must say I would like to see Pepe Escobar comes up with some better analysis.

The Real News should also include subtitles for the non native english speakers. I mean, I can understand him pretty well, but subtitles would help also.

Goes right along with US foreign policy, smoke and mirror diplomacy. The US hasn't minded its own business since 1913, why change now?
