  • I can't quit smilin. Can't believe I am listening to this..... This is sooooooo great!!!!

  • There's more talent in these angels than in all the crackers in America, and I should know, cuz I'm an ol' cracker!

  • this is why i like youtube

  • Can't find my add to favorites button quick enough. :)

  • Awesome personalities!!! Looks like a lot of fun!!

  • Jill Scott as Ella, not a bad choice.

  • WHAT AN AAAAAAHAHAHHHHHHHHMAAAAAAAAAZING TALENT LOST SHE AND SAMMY, I COULD SEE JILL SCOTT DOING HER LIFE STORY, WHAT DO YOU THINK?????

  • @JeffreyBboy1 Yeah Jill would be a great choice (on paper).

  • Such an amazing work of art,I love it.! and Sammy at 1:29 beautiful tone

  • Just cool, this is what been real cool looks like. Not running your mouth

  • A-Ma-Zing!

  • genius + genius = sammy + ella

  • Comment removed

  • 's wonderful is written by George Gershwin! ;)

  • I would love to thank these two for their amazing music and the racist hardship they indure, you guys will never be forgotten, much love and thank you!!!!

  • 2 OF DA GREATEST ICONS,LEGENDS,SINGERS,ENTERTAINERS..ETC..ETC..ETC..EVER!!!!

  • now those are entertainers

  • What a classy, talented, humble Lady. Can you name one of today's popular chart toppers that could pull off that kind of performance, while sharing the stage (and microphone), with another great singer? Ella was truely Ellegant.

  • @poet2knowit Different time, they don't makem like this anymore..... sad..

  • @poet2knowit Ella was a Lady! That's rare to find in today's popular music.

  • We dont get this anymore now every artists is a rival and they wont sing together for fun and bounce back and forth like sammy and ella they were thinking about the love and respect they have for each other and music,Nowadays people rather collaborate only if its gonna make the most money.Everytime I watch an ella video it feels like xmas.Dont get me wrong i like new music but i love old swing and blues music and old hiphop/R&b.this is when u really needed T.A.L.E.N.T

  • 5saxman7-Wow, this is wonderful!! Never saw it as my folks were always watching other stuff on the only TV we had. Thank you so much for sharing.............stay blessed!

  • awesome :o)

  • I'M THE CANDY MAN!

  • Ella is so humble, playful, but she kills vocally. Flawless. Sammy was watching in awe, he was a triple threat (sing, dance, act). Even in those days when many didn't view them asequals these legends had so much respect b/c of their talent and class! Singers of today need to watch these examples more. Chills

  • how prophetic of Ed to say that at the end.....

  • THE WONDERFULL, ELLA FITZGERALD!!!!!!!THE FIRST LADY OF JAZZ MUSIC, AND, THE FIRST LADY OF MUSIC.

  • The song is SWINGING. As Count Basie would say "Just one more time"

  • The more I see Ella Fitzgerald , the more I like her. Beyond being an amazing talent, she always seems to come across as very down-to-earth, humble, and modest. Even her clothing was always modest and dressy but not flashy. Worlds away from the personalities of the songstresses today.

  • @wlkgbrft1 ON POINT

  • wow

  • Music at its finest. Tommy Flanagan on piano

  • One of the best female vioces - Ella. :P

  • Pure music

  • Two of my favorite singers. :) Thanks for posting.

  • It is so cool to see Sammy smile as he watches Ella being Ella.

  • LOVE this, thanks for posting!

  • I couldn't keep from smiling... Underbart!!!

  • ella .. the best ever.. sammy no slouch either...

    thanks for posting... required viewing..

  • Never heard Ed Sullivan try to sing! Great moment in TV history.

  • Beautiful

  • Did mjj ever sing songs like this from the 40s 50s yes ok charlie chaplin

  • 2 of the GREATS,,LORD PLEASE BRING US A TON OF THESE TALENTS & HUMAN BEINGS TY FOR THE POST

  • What TALENT,a pity we dont have anything like it today

  • Ella is THE only singer in the history of American Music who could do NO WRONG.

    Bless her soul.

  • That's Tommy Flanagan on piano, Wilfred Middlebrooks on bass, Roy Eldridge on trumpet, and Gus Johnson on drums. They had either just gotten back from a tour of Japan with Jazz At The Philharmonic or were about to leave. What an amazing aggregation.

  • They look so cute together I wish I could have met Sammy. He's not handsome in a conventional way but I think he's so cute.

  • can't thank you enough..what utter joy!

  • The Master Class!

  • Tommy Flannigan on piano and Gus Johnson on drums.

  • "S Wonderful, by Cole Porter.

  • @5saxman7 I think you'll find it's Gershwin... quite possibly the greatest composer of all time! xD

  • @5saxman7 Its Gershwin actually.....

  • @5saxman7 gershwin

  • @5saxman7

    rather gershwin ....

  • @5saxman7 sorry saxman7, not trolling. Its Gershwin. Not Cole Porter.

  • @5saxman7 Yes, Cole Porter was great too... but, this song is by the Gershwin brothers.

  • @Juscz "Lush Life" is a jazz standard with lyrics and music written by Billy Strayhorn from 1933 to 1938. However, the song was only performed privately by Strayhorn until he and vocalist Kay Davis performed it on November 13, 1948 with the Duke Ellington Orchestra at Carnegie Hall

  • @Juscz SORRY I POSTED THE WRONG INFO YOU ARE RIGHT, I THOUGHT I WAS ON 'LUSH LIFE'

  • @5saxman7 "S-Wonderful" by the Gershwin brothers, George & Ira

  • what song are they singing?

  • Effortlessly brilliant!

  • QUEEN OF SCAT AND CLASSIC VOCAL

  • Awesome !!

  • 2:12 is my favorite scat! They are incredible!

  • great shoe! Ella and Sammy rule!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • AHHHH the scatting is just amazing

  • Ella Fitzgerald was a CLASSIC...PERIOD....

  • Ella just divine....her voice is perfect....Billie's one is amazing emotional but Ella is not surpassed....thogh i prefer Billie...;)

    Sammy just WONDERFUL too....a such a cool post....thankyou! ...S'WONDERFULLLLLL;)))

  • THIS is what we're missing on television today. Two legends, together. Just try to keep from smiling thru this whole thing. It truly is, S'wonderful!

  • @coronet51 2 legends together wishing the best for eachother instead of competing and having a blast indeed :)

  • Hahahaha!!!! Yes Sireeeee!!! :17 Tight Like Pockets!!!! Yes Sir!!! LOL!!!!

  • i think ella looks and sounds fabulous here. and i love it at 1:31 when sammy sings ' maaaarvellous'. wonderful! and i think sammy's the best scating partner ella's had. i've not heard her scating so well with others on the other vids.

  • @kokede Look for 'Ella Fitzgerald & Mel Torme perform and present the Grammy'. It's a bit out of sync but Torme tales Ella to school on scat.

  • @kokede Watch her scatting with mel torme at the grammies, incredible.

  • OOHH i LOVE these two!! so TALENTED!!

  • SOOOOOOOOOO

    Amazing.

And ED. I didn't kno he could sing on key!! What a delightful show.

  • this is talent!! the scating's wonderful!!!

  • great , fabuleux "the must"

  • Ella's singing voice actually shattered a glass and when it was recorded on the audio tape made by Memorex and then played back on Memorex, it shattered a glass again.. What artist today can say they can do that? Amazing!

  • Damn, they are on perfect pitch! We dont have legends like these around anymore!

  • lol "oh look at him sing"

    "I listen, i learn!"

    love them!!!!!

  • My favorite.

  • Pure Gold!

  • Ella is a queen!

  • this is so gud

  • wow finally complete verison....

  • Sammy was looking like: girl you better stop I'm gonna get you back stage LOL!

  • @dismissed7 actually he adored her...

  • @newstart2009 yeah I thought I saw a little twinkle in his eye as he watched her LOL!

  • I have always wanted to see the full version. Can you believe these two? So exquisite. You can tell they loved what they were doing. The guys playing the instruments are also great. I think they keep a keen eye on the performers because Ella can smoothly transition and change the tone of a song at any point and still get back in the groove. All intentional of course.

  • finally the uncut version. great post!

  • MAN i jus love her!!

  • Tears s so wonderful....

  • this was on the ed sulivan show!

  • I have waited so long for the uncut version of this, thanks for putting it up!!!

  • @oxford172 someone had the full version up on youtube sometime back and sofa entertainment took it down... so it was on youtube, and now thank god it's back.
