Ok. so the guys goes and steals his girlfriend of a stage infont of LOTS of people and then he goes and baits the guy. And its not like the Phantom didn't give him fair warning. He told him not to go any closer and then he had to go all cocky. Ha. serves him right that he ended up in a cage/thing/whatever, IDIOT.
To all the people freaking out about Christine flirting with Wishbone's character in the story; keep in mind that while Wishbone is imagining himself in a story, people don't see him as a dog but as a character from the book.
I know the whole concept seems freaky but that's just how I see it. I've watched Wishbone for years when I was a kid and I still love it today
@PhantomoftheOperaOG At least this guy's face is KIND of ugly... and the cinematography of the lair is dark and menacing... and his voice is mighty... heck, this should've been the 2004 Phantom, not Gerard "Pretty-Boy Can't Sing" Butler.
I loved these videos when i was little, but i totally agree with you on the modern day stuff. I was always bored stiff with them. I can't believe you didn't comment on how stupid wanda is though. DId you think the phantom was a seriously bad actor? Or is it just me?

Yes, he is a dog. She is a human. The horse is dead, put down the stick.
Normally I love your reviews but for this you seemed to have one joke and used it again and again and again...I would've preferred a solely serious review over that. There were parts I liked but the repetition of that one joke just took away from it.
So what if "it's a freaking dog!" We're suppose to ignore that and pretend that the character that wishbone is playing is human. At least they had WB as Raoul and not as Erik... now THAT would be messed up.
Great commentary, as always. Can't wait for Phibes!
Just as an aside, Texas is not the only state where "bestiality" legality is vague. Three states, not including Texas, have even found laws prohibiting it unconstitutional, which almost makes it legal. I'm Texan, and I know how to take a joke based on the stereotypes of my state, but some things just leave a bad taste no matter the humorous intention.
Thank You Phantom Reviewer......as I sat by my comp bummed about life I noticed you uopdated...saddly this is the high point in my life now...lol Thanks
Btw, I agree with you, PR...the makeup was incredibly disappointing. Before I saw this episode, I saw the Frankenstein one, and that makeup was infinitely better! At least he didn't look like he had silly putty all over him...the Frankenstein makeup actually scared me. :P
But then again, I guess we'll never truly be happy with any version of the Phantom's face because we all have our own idea in our mind of what he looked like.
Well done with this review!!! Can't wait for the next one!
I just thought of something...shouldn't the old dude have been arrested for trespassing? AND stealing? Seriously...I know Wishbone never did things incredibly realistically, but that's just whack.
Lol! This was the first version of Phantom I also saw... thanks for reviewing it! I hardly remembered any of it though. So what's the version where the Phantom crashes a bunch of mirrors...?
This was the first version of Phantom I ever saw or heard of, and it was the catalyst of a massive reaction... all versions, at least, so I'd thought until I saw what you have coming up next!
You're so right about the modern-day stories in Wishbone. They're almost always like that... this one was unusually dull.
But seriously... Wishbone's not a dog IC when he's in the stories. Nobody sees him as one... it's just to have kid appeal for the show.
Your Wishbone review was awesome (and damn, that's both awesome that they did such a good job of it, and sooooo sucky that after gods know how many versions that this is the best one lol), but the awesomeness is completely blown away by the AWESOMENESS of Phibes!!! :-D :-D :-D
It makes me SO happy to know that you're doing Phibes, I can't even say. ;U; <-- (tears of cracky joy) YAAAY!!!
Christine is so schizo. She says Yes but no buy yes but no! And then when she's crying at him when he's unmasked, she takes NO TIME to be all kissy with him. WTF! BAD ACTING.
2:57 - i like your "Hey look!" 3:21 was SERIOUSLY ADORABLE. From 3:55, her crying/convulsing is so bad.
LOL SNORING
what did you say at 5:48? I imagined you said Gerard Butler.
What movie is it that you're reviewing next? It looks mighty glossy...
I love this!! You've outdone yourself again, PhantomReviewer! I agree, it has alot of elements directly based off the Leroux novel (although its severely watered down and ... twisted) Shame too, the guy who plays the Phantom has a good voice and is a pretty good actor. But they don't give him a proper deformity.
Have you seen Terror At the Opera? It's another version by Dario Argento dubbed over in English but originally spoken in Italian. I can't remember whether or not you've covered it.
I think that's the only thing I did not like about Wishbone was the present day half of the story, I found that neighbor lady just unbearable, WANDA UGH!
The whole beastiality thing was only kind of funny the first couple of times... You're overlooking the fact that this is (sadly) one of the better adaptations of the book just because the premise of the show is to have a dog as the central character? Why so negative?
I have to admit my own bias... I LOVED Wishbone when I was young. It's probably also why I didn't even blink when Christine was professing her love to a canine. But I was a kid when I first saw it, and kids (hopefully) aren't thinking about bestiality! haha
No, no, of course they aren't! It's all just for fun, especially when you look back as an adult and realize all the stuff that doesn't seem at all strange when you're a kid. We were commenting on the dog-thing with a sort of nostalgic fondness tempered with a, "but if you really think about it, that's pretty odd." XD
