  • Actually Back then Grover Was FuzzyFace Not Grover

  • @karim2324 There is one sketch where Kermit calls him "fuzzyface" and "the hairy one", but I've never seen any evidence to suggest that the character had an official name back then.

  • @asaweryold I think I read somewhere his official name back then was Gleep.

  • @GOUDIE12 And he consistently made the fat bald blue guy faint by f'ing up his order when he waited on him.

  • @GOUDIE12 He was toking the biggest doobie.

  • Sesame Street shows today are not like they used to be like when I was little sucks now. :(

  • Fred looks like Sam the Eagle.

  • I like the way Grover is nowadays better.

  • 1969 Sure was not a bad year for Sesame Street.

    This is great!!!

    And Grover is Funny!

  • The monster who doesn't want to be last is Grover. He sure looked ugly back then and he sounds creepy too. The guy who's first looks like a hippie.

  • The Grover character's name wasn't Grover when he had green fur. It was Gleep.

  • That was hilarious. So people were up in arms over stuff like this? Lord. People need to stop being so uptight.

  • hippies are cool. damn fools! if its anything controversial, then its all other dark muppets that have this angry look. thats more creepy than a hippy.

and its funny, look how they messed him. you can only see this type of jokes in looney tunes.

  • adults only!!!

    get outta here ya hippie!

  • ??? And the video got a "adults only" warning over ... this?

    :-\

  • Grover has a deeper voice back then. I love this

  • Haha. Never seen a Green Grover. Now I have seen anything. I love the noises he makes when he gets stepped on haha.

  • The hippie should have said "Somebody change places with the prima donna here" at :45.

  • If they were real New Yorkers, they'd be ON line, not in line! Peace.

  • An amazing journey back in time, the sets all had that same look like they went on forever. Why does Old Green Grover call everybody "Fred"? See Kermit's lecture on "in the box" if you don't understand.

  • Yeah, he was. I think I prefer him when he constantly annoys the blue guy.

  • The beautiful day monster looks like Sam the Eagle.

  • I noticed Groverr was looking too close into the camera at the end.

  • I loved Grover's VOICE back then! LOL plus, this was WAAAY before Elmo's time

  • yeah old grover <:)

  • I loved it!

  • I think it's funny that the hippie muppet has only one hand. Seems the other one got cut off or fell off. Asome skit from the first seasons.

  • "Somebody change places with the troublemaker here!" Classic Sesame Street with attitude. :)

  • Oh...Wow..thank you so much for posting this ,,if you ever come across any more SS clips from this period, i would love to see them , if you could post them, id really appriceate it . thanks again.

  • I have only one word for this--awesome! This is classic right here! Thank you for posting this!

  • a green grover and a orange oscar those two changed colors

  • Wow, it's been almost my whole lifetime since I last saw this skit! Pure classic!

  • I never saw this one but it sure is funny. Though I do have trouble referring to that monster as Grover during the first season.

  • "I don't wanna be hurt!"

  • I love these old monsters. They're so weird/freaky/hilarious to me.
