the AMD tri core is actually a quad, but AMD fucked it up when they built it, so they had to disable the 4th core (you can enable it in the BIOS but it can be glitchy). Try comparing the q6600 (intel quad-core for the n00bs) with that shitty tri-core thing.

And I have two amd based machines, and the temps they run at are extremly low. atm my cores are running at 19-24 degrees (dual core). They seem to do what I want, which is great, I'm not gonna spend loads of money on a i7 processor if i dont need all that power.

I hate this fucking noobs! WHy the fuck are you comparing a Phenom with a Core 2 Duo?!! Of course AMD will win because these fucking noobies who are comparing a Duo. And not much difference in price. do u really know the history of intel? what did he do? and what he does? probably u dont know that intel was fined bc. it put pressure on dell and other not to buy amd
I am not uncivilised. So you are telling me that I am not civilised? THat means I work in the military? A civilian is someone who is not someone in the military.
The so called game is actually a gameplay video. If you look at both of them closely, they are exactly the same, except that the Intel one is purposely lagged for commercial purposes.
Because it's a game, too. It's a pre-recorded demo of a game used to test the performance of a computer part. It's both a benchmark and a game, seeing as he is using the game as a benchmark.
orly? people compare the 8 threaded nehalem to 4 core phenom ALL THE TIME, so STFU about amd having an extra core, your own fellow fanbois took that away from you. also, intel NO LONGER USES A FSB, and the l2 cache in nehelem is only 256kb, thats .25mb, and phenom 2 is 45nm, nehelem is clocked lower then phenom 2...i think you need to look at some REAL specs for once.
ati had that first 80nm(2900xt) gpu, and we all know how well that went. besides, deneb has almost the same PPH as penryn, but has a much better chipset offering(790gx) and a cheaper overall system cost. i7 sucks at gaming so don't even get me started on that pill of wasteware.
it sucks because its clock speed is far too low at stock, and it requires ddr3 memory with three channels, oh, and its voltage is linked with the rams, so no ddr3 2000mhz for i7. while theoretically, i7 is the fastest thing around, and will be for some time, it sucks in a gaming perspective much the same way the ps3 does, LOADS of theoretical power, very hard to get at it. keep in mind this is only taking into account GAMING, nothing else, obviously i7 is awesome at rendering and stuff.
Ever heard of overclocking? True, the Phenoms have reached higher frequencies than the i7's, but I think Intel's Hyperthreading more than compensates for the slight difference.
I'm not entirely sure, but I would think that voltage management is entirely up to the motherboard.
Now where are the facts backing the statement that i7's suck at gaming? What are the facts from an engineering perspective? What are the facts from a computer science perspective?
holy shit, FIVE REPLIES? you are undoubtedly the biggest fanboy i have ever seen. LOOK AT REVIEWS! most games only support 2 threads, no amount of "hyperthreads" will make any difference if the program cant use them!
True, many games still only use 2 threads; However, just as obsolete hardware must be replaced, developers will have to improve the parallel computing capabilities of their engines by utilizing any number of threads. It's all just progress, and the i7 is a step towards forcing game developers to produce better engines.
According to what you said, for gaming, it is also pointless to own a Phenom which can handle 4 threads simultaneously. According to you, contemporary games don't take advantage of the i7's potential.
Although the Phenom II's do not have as much potential as the i7's, it can also be said that contemporary games do not take advantage of the the potential of the Phenoms.
I'm not exactly a fanboy. I just love what is actually superior. I have a B2 Phenom. Purchasing it was a mistake on my part, but what does that tell you about AMD? "Oops AMD didn't do enough testing before attempting to compete with Intel's solutions."
Intel plans to move to 32nm in a little less than a year. Where will AMD be then? I think it's fair to guess that they'll still be on 45nm. AMD is gonna have to haul ass.
amd has always been on the trailing edge of manufacturing processes, they just didn't have the money to keep up with intel. now that the global foundries company is now a separate entity, amd might have a better chance at keeping up with intel, or at least not falling any farther behind.
AMD may have made many advancements in the past, but nowadays, I don't many people care about what these companies HAVE done as much as they care about what they ARE doing right now.
Back when Motorola made CPU's for G4's, those chips outperformed Intel's Pentium III's in many CPU-intensive applications. Not many people remember, and not many care.
I don't remember where I read this, but somewhere I read that, "...The Phenom II's are everything that the original Phenoms should have been..." For obvious reasons, I completely agree.
yes, owning any quad core today makes no sense, and wont for at least a year. remember, this is only games. however i think tri cores are an acceptable compromise between quad core performance and dual core price/compatibility.
Can you explain why this is so? If most games use two threads, and most casual gamers play games full screen with no other CPU-intensive programs running, then how much of a real performance boost comes from owning a tri-core?
Compromise between quad core performance and...? Did you not say that it is pointless for a gamer to own a quadcore? If a quadcore doesn't help the casual gamer much, then why would a tri-core?
because tri-cores arent much more expansive then dual cores and offer better performance then duals in programs that DO make use of more then two threads.
But now you're deviating from your own point. You are arguing against yourself. Your argument was that since most games use only 2 threads, it is pointless to own an i7 or a Phenom X4. This also implied that was pointless to own a Phenom X3 which has more parallel computing capability than a dual threaded application needs.
Yes, that was my original point. If a Tri-core and a Dual-Core are both of similar manufacturing processes, clock frequencies, and architectures, then the Tri-core will obviously outperform the dual core. We've gone in a complete circle and you've yet to prove why Intel sucks.
sorry about my first reply, i thought you were the other guy, just imagine how frustrated i was to see 5 different emails from youtube with the same title...on the note of overclocking, yes, i do it myself in fact, but my issue with intel as a whole, not necessarilyi7, is that they knowingly underclock their products, presumably to milk more money from oems.
Really though, I think Intel's prices are fair for now. They're doing good.
What very recent and impressive advancements have AMD made? Not many, if any, to my knowledge. Reaching 6.5GHz-ish does not add much to the overall computing potential of the Phenom II's.
i like amd for their price to performance ratio, its an excellent proposition to oems who want to make powerful computers for less, remember, dell, hp, and the like do not overclock their low end machines, so intels commendable capabilities in that respect are pointless, if only intel wasn't paying these companies to be intel exclusive, amd would be doing much better.
Yes yes, Pricing has been AMD's best "defence" for a while. On the note of OEM's wanting to make powerful machines for less: Moot point really.
I'm sure that at least some of those companies offer workstation solutions for CG Artists and the like; In which case it would be better to supply an i7-equipped machine.
The following statement is not necessarily true, "...obviously i7 is awesome at rendering and stuff. " Some renderers compiled with Intel's C++ compiler, and anything else really, show as much as a 40% performance increase over the same source compiled with GCC.
The point is, what you said is not necessarily true. Performance can easily be affected by the compiling tool(s) and the efficiency of the code.
i7 is good at rendering because those programs are some of the most scalable app available, thus easily making use of the 8 or 12 threads that i7 has to offer, unlike games.
Well, just like how I feel about the video, I don't think this particular comment of yours proved anything. Renderers have long been able to utilize many threads. Whole rooms full of computers have been and are often used to complete large rendering tasks.
My point is, "duh." Scalable parallelism has been a must for renderers for quite a while.
Oh, on the note of DDR3, it's just progress. Can't stay on DDR2 forever? Why don't you like DDR3? I realize that it hits you hard in the wallet but it can reach higher frequency and use less energy. Plus, the prices are bound to fall to a more affordable level as time passes.
yes, ddr3 is fats, but the latencies are far to high for the sheer clockspeed to overcome, ddr3 is a huge waste, and will be until latencies go down, as well as prices. in 6-8 months time, ddr3 will have likely come way down in price, but until then, no ddr3 for me.
Price Vs. Performance comparisons between AMD's Tri-Cores and Intel's dual cores may show that AMD is better, but does it actually prove that AMD is better?
Frankly, I think this video was kind of pointless. A Tri-Core is obviously likely to perform better than a Dual-Core; given that both are clocked to about the same frequency.
hey guys i just got a new phenom 9950 quad core black edition but it freezes up on me every 15-20 minutes right when im surfing the web or opening a window its getting irritating. Any advice or do i just need to send it back?
Check if your motherboards supports 140watt tdp(140watt cpu). some times when your motherboard cannot support the cpu watt then it becomes slow or lag.
Ok, i'm brave, eat this bitches haha: AMD 790fx motherboard AMD Phenom X4 9950 Quad Core, Black edition processors 1 TB Seagate, Serial ATA2, 7200rpm, 32MB HDD Ati Radeon PCI-E HD 4870 X2, 2GB GDDR5 so i have 2 x2 in crossfire... DDR II 4GB, 1066 MHz, CL5, Dual Channel Kit 4 module 1GB, Kingston HyperX RAM... Custom titanium & carbon fiber water cooled case... And a 1000 W source... That thing cost me 4000 $ I dare you to get something better than that... Now bite me hehe...
The comparison shown in the video isn't quite competitive. It's showing an AMD tri-core against an Intel dual-core. Not yet to known if it's either a E6750/E7200/E7300/E8400/E8500/E8600 etc. or it perhaps even might be an E2200/E5200 lolz...
Tho there really are some serious benchmarks around. :P
games are more intensive on the Graphics cards and RAM , if you wanna play a game, watch a movie, listen to music AND wank off to porn all at the same time, sure, use that hyper-over-the-top-expensive i7...
If you just wanna PLAY and maybe listen to music at the same time, a Phenom or phenom X2 is just as good and way less expensive
Hehe well thank's for the compliment, but I must say, that according to the local review sites (Tom's Hardware, Guru3D, Fudzilla), the new AM3 phenoms should bring only up to 5-10% performance boost. Which will not be in P/P ratio (expensive mobos and DDR3), and still not faster than the i7.
Even the i7 is in shit with the P/P ratio :) Nothing which is high end isn't P/P ;)
rofl dude, ur comp cost u 4000$ not even close to max. for $1500 approximatively, i got the same comp except the power supply, hard drive and ram... I think u got ripped off, cause for 4000$ i'd get the maxed out gaming comp
i did the test for my self 6000+ with E8400 in some Case my AMD Kick Ass in Games like Oblivion, AMD Kick Ass With AMD Live Music And Sound, Dont Belive all the Benchmarks you See Online AMD Wins Again Like the Athlon XP and MP Even AMD64, i found out why AMD is Not Doing has Well its Because Cross Cache is not in the AMD Side Cores Anymore AMD Needs to Re Studie The Core
Thing about the gaming test, They are EXACTLY the same gameplay! So how could this be a fair test, because they have obviously just messed around with the video on the Intel showcase.
Now Im not an Intel fanboy; in fact Im getting an AMD Phenom 8450 soon, but this is extremly biased

thats bs. There wasnt any mention of the settings for each systems. That game lag definitely had more to do with the integrated video for each motherboard than the processor. The e7200 I have has absolutely no problems running any system challenging game available. i have an e7200 and play crysis, fallout 3, dead space, call of duty 5, farcry 2, etc. settings all maxed out in every game i have with no problems with an asus 9800gt vid card. Pretty biased comparison goin on here.
Hi everyone! :D this will be my computer rig: CASE: Aplus twin engine CPU: AMD Phenom Quad-core 9950 BE 2,66GHz Sapphire Radeon HD4870X2 2GB HDD: Western Digital Velociraptor 300GB 10,000 RPM RAM: Kingston HyperX 1066MHz 2x2GB MB: Asus M3A78-T, AMD CPU fan: Thermaltake Gunmet Orb PSU: fractal design newton 1000W now, I will be using a Samsung 22" HD-ready monitor. Now, will the PSU be strong enough?, will I be able to overclock the CPU?, will I be able to use the 1080p?
It doesn't matter if it is 3 or 4 cores actually, if you have a multi core CPU, you can do multi tasking, such as surfing the internet, un-zip a file, listen to music, and burn a DVD at the same time with multi core CPU. That is what multi cores are about. Gaming and softwares are still trying to use more than 2 cores.
I wonder would u hav said that if that when Athlon 64 X2 firts came out and was trashin intel's ass. Sure at the minute Intel's on top. Only to be expected. but it'll swing on round abouts. AMD will eventually come out with somefin that will slaughter whatever intel has and then intel will strike back with somefin that will slaughter AMD (like wen Core 2 came out and completely anhilated Athlon X2)
o really i have a q6600 hundred my self clocked to 3GHZ n pwn every game even crysis on very high on DX10 + Vista 64 bit , how does your amd cpu perform on crysis????? btw yes it is about who invented what it always has been, intel owns amd just because it invented the x86 arch just because it produces better cpus on 45nm technology n intels sells the fastest clock speeds out there. I dont believe that the cpu got burned bcoz i work with intel cpus fo 10 years the pc will shut down but not burn
to give you a ruph ides of what amd and intel can do i have both the AMD Phonom and the intel core 2 quad Q6600 and they both perform great yeas they both have there strong points but they also have there week points im glad that i got eather of them and if i would buy a new quad core CPU i would go with what ever is cheapest at the time there both great chips
2!! how can you mofos compare 3core cpu vs 2core cpu ????? IMO
3!!When is amd gonna release an 45 nm CPU?????????? Intell is selling 45nm cpus right now pwning ur asses
4!! amd is selin defected X4 phenoms as X3 bcoz the 1 core is fcked up !wow suckas buy them!
all amd shitfans should have RESPECT FOR INTEL BECAUSE INTEL INVENTED THE FUCKING X86 ARCHITECTURE AND GAVE TO THE SHITTY AMD RIGHT TO MANUFACTURE CPUS OTHERWISE YOU WOULDN HAVE A PC RIGHT NOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yea right, this is not about who made what first, this is what is the strongest, I had a Intel running laptop which didnt even last one year cause it was so slow that i crushed it, and i bought a brand new system with intel for 1400$ and it was just trouble with the whole thing and the CPU got burned when i tried to play Flight Simulator X. So i decided to try a new amd athlon based system with athlon 6400+ cpu and the temp was at 25C constantly and ran the fsx and other apps alot faster.
Ohh and btw, when i had my amd athlon 6400 dual core, a good friend of mine ordered a intel quad core with 3.1 ghz and clocked it to 3.3, so we both thought that he was gonna run a game called command and conquer 3 tiberium wars alot smoother, but no, the loading time with him is almost the double of what i have, he have a 3.3 ghz quad core from intel, i have a 3.2 ghz dual core from amd, i beat the intel in loading a game even tho i have higher graphics on, i run highest, he run medium!
I just bought a Fujitsu siemens Scaleo P desktop with AMD Phenom 9500 Quad Core, damn I m soooooo pleased with performance and amazingly low Cpu temperatures,Idle Cpu temp is 22 Celsius, with Crysis it goes max to 42,unbelieveble,Cool stuff
hey i too have the same proc-- but everyone says that phenom 9550 is not comparable with the c2q6600 i was sad about it ------- u say the performance in gaming with phenom9550 !!!!!! :(

The so called game is actually a gameplay video. If you look at both of them closely, they are exactly the same, except that the Intel one is purposely lagged for commercial purposes.
GundamTotema 2 years ago
It's a benchmark, not gameplay.
FortunexenutroF 2 years ago
If it's a benchmark, why did he not write benchmark. He wrote game.
GundamTotema 2 years ago
v.v
Because it's a game, too. It's a pre-recorded demo of a game used to test the performance of a computer part. It's both a benchmark and a game, seeing as he is using the game as a benchmark.
FortunexenutroF 2 years ago
But he isnt actually playing this GAME.
GundamTotema 2 years ago
Yes he is. The game is being rendered the same way as if he was playing it. Looks like you don't know how game benchmarks work.
FortunexenutroF 2 years ago
I know how benchmarks work, but when he says game, you assume that he's playing a game.
GundamTotema 2 years ago
The computer is playing the game. It wouldn't be very fair to compare the two platforms unless you can follow the exact same path in the game.

thats bull shit ! they cant compare dual core and triple core
Intel 4ever
Intel has better FSB,45nm technology, more L2 cachce and faster freqvency
5TuNeR5 2 years ago
orly? people compare the 8 threaded nehalem to 4 core phenom ALL THE TIME, so STFU about amd having an extra core, your own fellow fanbois took that away from you. also, intel NO LONGER USES A FSB, and the l2 cache in nehelem is only 256kb, thats .25mb, and phenom 2 is 45nm, nehelem is clocked lower then phenom 2...i think you need to look at some REAL specs for once.
qwertymac93 2 years ago
but intel had the first 45nm processor and Phenom II is other era if you comparing it with core 2 duo
compare with C2D 8series or i7 and you will see
AMD is far away behind the Intel
5TuNeR5 2 years ago
ati had that first 80nm(2900xt) gpu, and we all know how well that went. besides, deneb has almost the same PPH as penryn, but has a much better chipset offering(790gx) and a cheaper overall system cost. i7 sucks at gaming so don't even get me started on that pill of wasteware.
qwertymac93 2 years ago
I would like to know why the i7 sucks. Please, explain using facts.
dasFach 2 years ago
it sucks because its clock speed is far too low at stock, and it requires ddr3 memory with three channels, oh, and its voltage is linked with the rams, so no ddr3 2000mhz for i7. while theoretically, i7 is the fastest thing around, and will be for some time, it sucks in a gaming perspective much the same way the ps3 does, LOADS of theoretical power, very hard to get at it. keep in mind this is only taking into account GAMING, nothing else, obviously i7 is awesome at rendering and stuff.
qwertymac93 2 years ago
Ever heard of overclocking? True, the Phenoms have reached higher frequencies than the i7's, but I think Intel's Hyperthreading more than compensates for the slight difference.
I'm not entirely sure, but I would think that voltage management is entirely up to the motherboard.
Now where are the facts backing the statement that i7's suck at gaming? What are the facts from an engineering perspective? What are the facts from a computer science perspective?
Please back your opinions with facts.
dasFach 2 years ago
holy shit, FIVE REPLIES? you are undoubtedly the biggest fanboy i have ever seen. LOOK AT REVIEWS! most games only support 2 threads, no amount of "hyperthreads" will make any difference if the program cant use them!
qwertymac93 2 years ago
True, many games still only use 2 threads; However, just as obsolete hardware must be replaced, developers will have to improve the parallel computing capabilities of their engines by utilizing any number of threads. It's all just progress, and the i7 is a step towards forcing game developers to produce better engines.
dasFach 2 years ago
According to what you said, for gaming, it is also pointless to own a Phenom which can handle 4 threads simultaneously. According to you, contemporary games don't take advantage of the i7's potential.
Although the Phenom II's do not have as much potential as the i7's, it can also be said that contemporary games do not take advantage of the the potential of the Phenoms.
dasFach 2 years ago
I'm not exactly a fanboy. I just love what is actually superior. I have a B2 Phenom. Purchasing it was a mistake on my part, but what does that tell you about AMD? "Oops AMD didn't do enough testing before attempting to compete with Intel's solutions."
Intel plans to move to 32nm in a little less than a year. Where will AMD be then? I think it's fair to guess that they'll still be on 45nm. AMD is gonna have to haul ass.
dasFach 2 years ago
amd has always been on the trailing edge of manufacturing processes, they just didn't have the money to keep up with intel. now that the global foundries company is now a separate entity, amd might have a better chance at keeping up with intel, or at least not falling any farther behind.
qwertymac93 2 years ago
AMD may have made many advancements in the past, but nowadays, I don't many people care about what these companies HAVE done as much as they care about what they ARE doing right now.
Back when Motorola made CPU's for G4's, those chips outperformed Intel's Pentium III's in many CPU-intensive applications. Not many people remember, and not many care.
dasFach 2 years ago
i remember i care...
qwertymac93 2 years ago
Yeah okay :p
dasFach 2 years ago
I don't remember where I read this, but somewhere I read that, "...The Phenom II's are everything that the original Phenoms should have been..." For obvious reasons, I completely agree.
dasFach 2 years ago
yes, owning any quad core today makes no sense, and wont for at least a year. remember, this is only games. however i think tri cores are an acceptable compromise between quad core performance and dual core price/compatibility.
qwertymac93 2 years ago
Can you explain why this is so? If most games use two threads, and most casual gamers play games full screen with no other CPU-intensive programs running, then how much of a real performance boost comes from owning a tri-core?
Compromise between quad core performance and...? Did you not say that it is pointless for a gamer to own a quadcore? If a quadcore doesn't help the casual gamer much, then why would a tri-core?
dasFach 2 years ago
because tri-cores arent much more expansive then dual cores and offer better performance then duals in programs that DO make use of more then two threads.
qwertymac93 2 years ago
But now you're deviating from your own point. You are arguing against yourself. Your argument was that since most games use only 2 threads, it is pointless to own an i7 or a Phenom X4. This also implied that was pointless to own a Phenom X3 which has more parallel computing capability than a dual threaded application needs.
So what exactly is YOUR point?
dasFach 2 years ago
hmm, a e7400 or a x3 720, both are clocked at 2.8ghz? hmm...
qwertymac93 2 years ago
Yes, that was my original point. If a Tri-core and a Dual-Core are both of similar manufacturing processes, clock frequencies, and architectures, then the Tri-core will obviously outperform the dual core. We've gone in a complete circle and you've yet to prove why Intel sucks.
dasFach 2 years ago
i've reached the point were i just don't give a damn anymore, you buy what you buy, i buy what i buy, everyones happy.
qwertymac93 2 years ago 2
Exactly :)
dasFach 2 years ago
sorry about my first reply, i thought you were the other guy, just imagine how frustrated i was to see 5 different emails from youtube with the same title...on the note of overclocking, yes, i do it myself in fact, but my issue with intel as a whole, not necessarilyi7, is that they knowingly underclock their products, presumably to milk more money from oems.
qwertymac93 2 years ago
It's the beauty of capitalism xD
Really though, I think Intel's prices are fair for now. They're doing good.
What very recent and impressive advancements have AMD made? Not many, if any, to my knowledge. Reaching 6.5GHz-ish does not add much to the overall computing potential of the Phenom II's.
dasFach 2 years ago
"...Reaching 6.5GHz-ish does not add much to the overall computing potential of the Phenom II's. "
And of course I mean that in relation to i7's clocked around 5.5GHz.
dasFach 2 years ago
i like amd for their price to performance ratio, its an excellent proposition to oems who want to make powerful computers for less, remember, dell, hp, and the like do not overclock their low end machines, so intels commendable capabilities in that respect are pointless, if only intel wasn't paying these companies to be intel exclusive, amd would be doing much better.
qwertymac93 2 years ago
IF you take overclocking into account, intels prices are stellar, if not, they are terrible deals.
qwertymac93 2 years ago
Yes yes, Pricing has been AMD's best "defence" for a while. On the note of OEM's wanting to make powerful machines for less: Moot point really.
I'm sure that at least some of those companies offer workstation solutions for CG Artists and the like; In which case it would be better to supply an i7-equipped machine.
dasFach 2 years ago
The following statement is not necessarily true, "...obviously i7 is awesome at rendering and stuff. " Some renderers compiled with Intel's C++ compiler, and anything else really, show as much as a 40% performance increase over the same source compiled with GCC.
The point is, what you said is not necessarily true. Performance can easily be affected by the compiling tool(s) and the efficiency of the code.
dasFach 2 years ago
i7 is good at rendering because those programs are some of the most scalable app available, thus easily making use of the 8 or 12 threads that i7 has to offer, unlike games.
qwertymac93 2 years ago
Well, just like how I feel about the video, I don't think this particular comment of yours proved anything. Renderers have long been able to utilize many threads. Whole rooms full of computers have been and are often used to complete large rendering tasks.
My point is, "duh." Scalable parallelism has been a must for renderers for quite a while.
dasFach 2 years ago

dasFach 2 years ago
Oh, on the note of DDR3, it's just progress. Can't stay on DDR2 forever? Why don't you like DDR3? I realize that it hits you hard in the wallet but it can reach higher frequency and use less energy. Plus, the prices are bound to fall to a more affordable level as time passes.
dasFach 2 years ago
yes, ddr3 is fats, but the latencies are far to high for the sheer clockspeed to overcome, ddr3 is a huge waste, and will be until latencies go down, as well as prices. in 6-8 months time, ddr3 will have likely come way down in price, but until then, no ddr3 for me.
qwertymac93 2 years ago
I agree with the part about latencies :)

Price Vs. Performance comparisons between AMD's Tri-Cores and Intel's dual cores may show that AMD is better, but does it actually prove that AMD is better?
Frankly, I think this video was kind of pointless. A Tri-Core is obviously likely to perform better than a Dual-Core; given that both are clocked to about the same frequency.
dasFach 2 years ago
ok then, remind me what you point is, because everything you just said points to amd winning.
qwertymac93 2 years ago
It is clearly obvious that a tri-core will outperform a dual-core when the architectures and transistor manufacturing processes are close enough.
My point is, "duh." What exactly did this video prove?

Hehe well thank's for the compliment, but I must say, that according to the local review sites (Tom's Hardware, Guru3D, Fudzilla), the new AM3 phenoms should bring only up to 5-10% performance boost. Which will not be in P/P ratio (expensive mobos and DDR3), and still not faster than the i7.
Even the i7 is in shit with the P/P ratio :) Nothing which is high end isn't P/P ;)

The e7200 I have has absolutely no problems running any system challenging game available. i have an e7200 and play crysis, fallout 3, dead space, call of duty 5, farcry 2, etc. settings all maxed out in every game i have with no problems with an asus 9800gt vid card.

So i decided to try a new amd athlon based system with athlon 6400+ cpu and the temp was at 25C constantly and ran the fsx and other apps alot faster.
kneesee89 3 years ago
Ohh and btw, when i had my amd athlon 6400 dual core, a good friend of mine ordered a intel quad core with 3.1 ghz and clocked it to 3.3, so we both thought that he was gonna run a game called command and conquer 3 tiberium wars alot smoother, but no, the loading time with him is almost the double of what i have, he have a 3.3 ghz quad core from intel, i have a 3.2 ghz dual core from amd, i beat the intel in loading a game even tho i have higher graphics on, i run highest, he run medium!
