The Military is what you make it. It will bring you down if you let it and it will take you places if you want it bad enough. Some people excel and other serve only one term. But you have to do your research and never believe your recruiter. He is there to do his job and sign you up.
As a veteran I have to disagree with this video. I was in for the first gulf war and spent 8 GREAT years in the Navy. One of my kids was in the Army and another is enlisting in the Navy right now. Its a great way of life and they always did right by me. The pay and benefits rival anything in the civilian world. I agree its not for everyone, but it is what you make of it. I would do it all over again if given the chance. This is just one thing that makes our country great.

I am in ROTC training to become a military officer and I know what I am getting in to. Yes there are benefits but you should know that if you are going to join the military, a fighting force, that you will be fighting. The bullet holes, the fighting, the screaming, you have to understand that it will happen if you join. Yes, the benefits are great but first and foremost you signed up to fight for your country. And if you did do that, then do not whine when you are required to do so.

I have made an amazing career out of the military...they payed thousand in college loans for me and I make 48 thousand a year...I really do not know how someone could go homeless and it is a serious problem but I have been provided a home, health care for my family in hospitals of my choosing. As a veteran I have to disagree with this video. I was in for the first gulf war and spent 8 GREAT years in the Navy. One of my kids was in the Army and another is enlisting in the Navy right now. Its a great way of life and they always did right by me. The pay and benefits rival anything in the civilian world. I agree its not for everyone, but it is what you make of it. I would do it all over again if given the chance. This is just one thing that makes our country great.

I am in ROTC training to become a military officer and I know what I am getting in to. Yes there are benefits but you should know that if you are going to join the military, a fighting force, that you will be fighting. The bullet holes, the fighting, the screaming, you have to understand that it will happen if you join. Yes, the benefits are great but first and foremost you signed up to fight for your country. And if you did do that, then do not whine when you are required to do so.

It's ridiculous to think that the military is defending the people's rights. No, the only rights people have are a result of class struggle, and that struggle is against the government. And the military, like the police, are instruments of the government, and therefore have no involvement in benefiting the people's rights. Maybe that would happen if the government was comprised by the people, instead of some greedy professional high & mighty politicians

I have made an amazing career out of the military...they payed thousand in college loans for me and I make 48 thousand a year...I really do not know how someone could go homeless and it is a serious problem but I have been provided a home, health care for my family in hospitals of my choosing. I can practically get any loan i want because I am in the military. I got everything promised to me in my contract 6 years later buddy.
