  • a style so often tried and just can't be imitated, try try as they may, isn't anyone can play that song as well as Maybelle. to this day i still try, the Carter scratch is and always belong to Mother Maybelle.

  • @delita60 yeh I know I cant either , my cousin said it was double jug time , . . lol yeh Im a hill billy, and damn proud of it ,

  • I'm 30 years old and have just discovered the Carter Family through a musical play at a local community theater. I've been listening to their songs for days now, and I guarantee this music will live on forever. My children will listen to it, their children, and so on. Beautiful classics like this never die. Now there's a sunny-sided thought :)

  • I have never heard this from the Original Carter Family. Thank you for posting it.

  • Love this old timey music - no pretentions, no vulgarity and talented.

  • You just don't get this kind of feeling from modern music. Back then, image meant nothing. It was all about how talented you were as a musician. It's sad that things have digressed to the point they have...

  • That is true. I like the unplugged sound especially.

  • Amen!

  • Just great!

  • All it takes are the first few chords to make me smile.

I'm glad to live where it all started- Southwest Virginia!

  • nice i like this song a lot

  • Love it!!! I love the Original Carter Family.

  • great song and the first song i learned to note out almost to perfection but no one can do it like the carter family R.I.P. and god bless

  • A TRUE CLASSIC!
