@BigbyBodhi5@N617A It is a 10/12 port 500AT. Thunderbolt 1000T's and 1003's don't really sound like this, a 1000 is single tone, and 2001's are single toned.
it sounds more like a tbolt then a 500AT... its got the echoey ish thing and it rotates... in fact to me it sounds like a 1003... it could be a 1000... but the 500 does not have that tinny smooth echoey sound... and the 3t22 and 2t22 don't rotate... it could VERY possibly be a 2001 but it doesn't have the "plastic" sound either.
@johnnydeppxoxoxo1 I do not recall that being on July 4th, I think thats just when he updated the video. I may be wrong but I remember that that storm was I think before July 4th. Unless I'm thinking of the storm that happened this summer, which was worse.
me and my friend live there and we went to my house to get clothes and when we got to his house they went off.. then we woke up and went to the skate comp.. haha =]
Nice Sky and lightning.....and i Hear a Thunderbolt in the Background...that is without a doubt the Scariest,Erriest Sound Siren ever made...its the kind of siren that Yells "Move your Ass!"
@Tabby266 Ahhh comon now! Its not the sirens but the people who set them off!!! Seriously, in my city the sirens go off everytime it looks like it's going to rain. hahah
@twotailedavenger hey this is pkm188's other profile..i cant log into my other one anymore for some reason? but anyway i do agree, they do a crappy job.
Yup, Federal Signal 500-AT. And it is true that this isn't a 2T22, they have a much different sound, and they do not rotate... It does kind of sound like a Thunderbolt, but the chopper settings would have to be really messed up in order to be one.
I don't think the chopper settings would have anything to do with it. The fact that the Thuderbolt's chopper is like 1/4 the size of the 500AT's, and the fact that the Tbolt is supercharged with a blower, and is a completely different design would make it very, very difficult to accurately imitate a 500T or vice versa.
Very true, although if you think about it, it does sound like a higher pitched 1003. I am not saying that it is, because I definitely know it is a 500-AT. I was just kind of saying there is an argument for whoever says it's a Thunderbolt.
This is what I want to know. Knowing Federal's history of sirens that share the same parts, I wonder if they ever used this 10/12 rotor in any other siren? The STL-10 is the only other FS siren that has a rotor that we haven't yet seen in another siren. Federal already had a perfectly good 9/12 dual tone rotor, which was used in the 500T, SD-10, 5/7T, so why would they make a new 10/12 rotor just for this siren? There has to be an SD-10 or something out there with one of these in it.
I'd almost go as far as to say I'm obsessed with the idea of rare sirens with 10/12 port choppers. There HAS to be at least one model out there with this chopper. Or a 10/12 Hurricane, or more Mobil Directos/Allertors, or a Model 2T in 5/6 like a 1000T, or something we haven't even thought of.
I can't find any real information, and I've been a siren geek for 15 years. I've been researching this stuff for 3/4 of my life. Something is bound to come up sooner or later.
Definitely, without a doubt in my mind, a 500AT. Heard them in person on several different occasions, and that sound can't be mistaken for any other siren, not even the 10/12 Allertor/Mobil-Directo.
sounds like a 2t22 or a ThunderBolt
