  • Thank you for this mike. I couldnt watch this earlier because the audio was copyrighted. best documentary I have seen. god bless ian shaw and may stephanie shaw rest in peace.

  • I once stayed with Ian and his wife at their home in Switzerland, but have lost touch with them now unfortunately. Has anyone got an email address? Chris Duffy

  • thank you Mike for this awesome documentary. god bless Ian shaw, stephanie shaw and all the victims of swiss air 111

  • is this video on any other server anywhere so it can be watched with audio... It seems such a touching doco to watch

  • @hopeless128 have a look on my Vimeo account... username mikechristie

  • @hopeless128 The audio has been re-enabled

  • I took a Swissair flight from Jakarta to Zurich a month before the crash of SR 111. We could not watch any in flight movies because the entertainment system was overheating. I had always wondered if this was the same flight that crashed a month later. Both flights were a MD-11 aircraft and I wonder if this information ever surfaced during the investigation?

  • Why does my comment about the missing sound keep disappearing?

  • i don't know. I haven't removed them.

It's a big shame the audio for this has been disabled as it's one of my favourite films of mine, but such is the nature of copyright audio.

  • youtube censorship!!!

  • I can't believe the audio for the entire documentary has been removed! Wake up youtube!

  • I want the sound to be put back! NO VIDEOS ON YOUTUBE SHOULD BE MUTED FOREVER!

  • A wonderful documentary on a wonderful man.I was very touched by the Swissair incident, and knowing how Ian Shaw dealed with that tragedy still gives me important lessons on how important love and life are. Mr.Shaw sold the restaurant and reunited with his family in Spain;hope they'll finally find their peace, like their beloved Stephanie.

  • Exceptional documentary about an amazing man who's story saddens me to the heart.

I have the Mayday (Air Crash Investigation) episode with his appearence, so seeing this was great.

Does anyone know if he is still owns the restaurant or is even residing in Nova Scotia today?

    Regards

  • very moving, a great documentary.
