I used to do the episode in less than 5 minutes on my dad's old 4-86 pc back in 95. The trick was to autorun while using the mouse to push forward and you could speed run from one end of a hall to the other in less than a second. With no LIM and secret level i did it in about 4:95 minutes as a personal record. Gotta love that game.

I don't believe it's nitpicking to criticize the run for not collecting health before fighting Hans. He spent several seconds (cumulatively) hiding behind the wall, missed many bullets and took a huge risk with 1% health. I feel it would've been much faster and safer to spend the fraction of a second required to pick up 3 or 4 medkits so that he could eliminate Hans in ~3 seconds at point-blank instead of ~10 seconds.

Out of interest, is this some mod where the mouse and wasd system actually work? I have the original style one i bought off steam and I cant get A and D to be strafe with mouse for looking around. I have to hold a key and press A or D to strafe, mouse moved forwards makes me move forwards. . (not impressed) and it makes it really hard to play. I have old style doom and that has perfectly configured controls, why not wolf :(

@Fleshshredder this is TA'd (i think) where you have savestates, basically you can save whenever you want, and if you screw up you try again. so something like that on this run would be easy

it was a glitch with games like that. holding strafe and forward movement keys at the smae simte allowed you to go diagonally. through that you can move a LOT faster.

Easier difficulty = less enemies

at the end of lvl 1, there is a scret wall near the door. few walls to push and you reach other exit door to level 10

Well it's kinda hard to tell. There is only part were the level splits. At the end of one direction is a key and a extra live and at the other end the level exit. I also found it easier to navigate than the second floor XD

Great vid! I can't imagine memorize all of those twists and turns, I spent most of my time in this game completely lost.. at least the iPhone version has a map. But I'm kind lost as to why you keep running away from opening doors; I've never seen anyone do that in a speed run.

It's not really pointless at all...the point is for him to finish Wolfenstein as quick as possible...whether or not is it entertaining, however, is debatable. I find it so, but you may not, I repsect that. But, it still has a point, do you understand the concept?

There's no way that's on the easiest skill level. He's getting hurt way too much, and there are extra guards in certain places, especially on some of the higher levels.

I still maintain that this cannot possible be the easiest setting, despite the fact that it persistently says so. The loading screens between the different missions look like they were added to the video (although I can attribute this to my lack of knowledge of NewWolf; perhaps it was a specific hack?). If you take a look at 2:50 and then play the (original) game, there is no guard behind the green barrels. He doesn't show up until you play the game on the 'Bring it On' setting.

This obviously was a version of Wolf3d, as the effects/graphics were enhanced. By the way, why did you run at an angle all the time? You did it on "Can I play Daddy?" which isn't saying much. This was Ok, but I just got done beating it, on speed run, on "I am Death Incarnate". Took me 4:58. Code: OHH. Beat John Romero's record by 22 seconds. Of course, saying this doesn't prove it, but I'm not lying.

Did like hearing the music though. Can't hear it anymore.

Good memorization. Wolfenstein 3d is a hard game to speedrun and to memorize because the design of the levels are monotonous and repetitive. Good job at the end with 1% health!

badass. this is THE game that got me interested in the FPS genre. I have many memories of killing nazis when I was 9. Mutti! I feel old now.
