  • The body shuts down the production of insulin when the cells become over saturated with glucose due to a massively high sugar / refined carb. diet and most importantly "LACK of EXERCISE" (which burns of the sugar) Sorry to the lazy people out there but you have to move. After a long period of time the body is conditioned to slow the production of insulin to save the cells from the Acidic sugars which will kill them off. It will do this automatically with out observing the blood sugars

  • do i have the right to use this video in a class project?

  • Like your presentation just what one needs

  • Happy Anniversary ! Its my 1st anniversary with diabetes. I regret why she married me and i am still fighting for a divorce....

  • Just want to provide some advice based on my experience. I was in near-perfect shape--exercised constantly and never ate sugar to keep the weight down--when I was oddly diagnosed as pre-diabetic. For a year, I struggled keeping my glucose under 100. My last ditch-effort was cutting out bread (and as a result losing 5 more pounds.) My blood sugar has been perfect for 3 months. Bottom line: lose 10 pounds, even if you're slim. Cut out all high-glycemic foods. It will make all the difference.

  • @lonewolf1234512345 Cut out all processed foods, and you will no longer have a worry.

  • @porcelaincougar Definitely. But for me, weight seems to be the primary factor. 208 lbs.--blood sugar is perfect. 214--it fluctuates all over the place.

  • @lonewolf1234512345 It's not just sugar. All carbohydrates are broken down into glucose. So the more carbohydrates you eat, the more glucose you will have.

  • @undeadxromance Right. But complex carbs don't spike glucose production like simple carbs. But even complex carbs in moderation.

  • @missraw got to the doctor before you assume things they may not know everything but they saved my life im a teenager with fuor months of type one diabetes my story is a disaster i passed out in a discount store i was with my stepmom and my stepsister were were checking the clothes out all of a sudden my stomach was hurting andi could barely breath then evry second it got worse at the last minute i coulld barley stand up then the next thing i could remeber is the clerk had tea she was my angel

  • @iamms47 do you have diabetes if you do ok but if you dont get this we dont have side effects as you say if we did i would be crazy and second dont belive everything the internet says just a bunch of lies and third that cure is a lie there is no cure for type one but idk for type 2 im only type1 and youre giving these people false hopes including me so if you dont have the proof dontspread out the truth and lastly insulin is saving my life without it i think i would be dead right now get that

  • @XxAnEvilWafflexX hey no just because you drink a lot of soda and never eat junk food on a regular basis that doesnt mean you have fucking type 2 diabetes its when your body cantproduce enough insulin to control how much sugar you eat and thats how you become fat be lucky you dont have type 1 like me thats when you are born with it but i didnt find outnuntil i passed out for not eating stupid me but soda&candy does not mean you can get t2 just dont dont drink a lot of soda you can be a hypogl

  • @MrXmannymanx really you check you blood sugar for fun i have to check mine four to six time a day just because you are over weight that dosent mean you have diabetes there are so many other types and you think you have type 2 i have type 1 that the most dangerous go to the fucking doctor and see i passed out and it was too late to reverse it well you cant stop type one but i dont even know if i was born with it so just be lucky you dont have it and if you do pray to god its type 2 and not mine

  • Excellent video. If you are suffering from Diabetes ask your medical questions to Diabetologists at AskMDx.com

  • I'm glad my parents feed me well ._.

They rarley let me drink soda or eat candy and other junk food.

And i am athletic and skinny :3

  • I just recently found out that I have type 2 diabetes through symptoms that I researched myself. I'm 17 years old and I've been obese ever since I was 4-5. It sucks...

  • Hi people. I have a question. I drink 2 - 3 sodas a day. I am however rather skinny and never eat sweets. I also rarely eat junk food. How high is my risk for type 2 diabetes?

  • Dr Neal Secrist said he has been able to get some people off of insulin and able to reduce insulin in others by up to 40% would you like to reduce your insulin by up to 40% using a natural product that also helps with weight loss and cholesterol?

  • is it possible for your pancreas to secrete dr pepper

  • @MissNaomi000 try "Foodpics Log" app on iPhone. Google it to see its features before downloading it.

  • seems to present a somewhat incomplete picture, since it doesn't really discuss the development of Type II DM through progressive insulin resistance when insulin levels are actually very HIGH initially, leading to a process of fatigue (essentially) in the pancreatic Beta-cells...

  • Great Videos. You Have one of the Best Video Collections in Youtube. Keep it up.

  • thanks for the diabetes uploads - I love your taste

  • You have answered my homewrok I thank you a lot!!

It is easy to understand, even I do not like to much biology

    Thank you

  • Why do type 2 diabetes patients not recieve insulin injections ?Is it a case of second class system with preference to type I .Why is there a distinction between racial types in systemizing treatments is there really a diff between white diabetes and black diabetes ?

  • This video says nothing about what causes diabetes. It says nothing about reducing the massive 180 pounds of sugar that the average American eat and drinks every year.

And it mentions taking drugs to manage, but not improve, a person's diabetes.

And the speaker has a monotone delivery.

  • @AppleSouffle oh well, then why dont you link us to the more professional and informative video you made?

  • @AppleSouffle seriosly it just talked how you get diabetes!!! and it says insilim is low and then that means that the cell won't open much and that means that over production of glucose in our blood stream! ok now in diabetes type 2 for idiots....our cells don't eat our suger so we get very fat! got it!

  • i wonder if subway knows jared is endorsing diabetes videos on the side

  • So many illnesses around..I just can't accept that medicine hasn't found a solution to so many of the illnesses around. Supposedly science has progressed..well were is the progression..why do so many people have to die. Give all humanity a chance to live an enjoyable life free of illnesses..we are all here a short time ..why can't we all just lve peacefully.

  • @nikbunnymen Diabetes aside, many illnesses are caused by micro organisms that are constantly evolving. A lot of the recent evolution in drug resistant bacteria is a direct result of antibiotic treatment actually. It's not remotely simple to achieve medical utopia as you're describing. Besides, there are not enough resources on this planet to support a human population unhindered by disease. There would probably just be more humans killing other humans if we stamped out disease.

  • @rhettrongun .Thanks for your feed back appreciate it and do understand your point.Take care.

  • @Leafshinoby .... Thank you.

  • OMG WTF!

    -Heart attack

    -Stroke

    -Blindness

    -Nerve Damage

I would get this? If I don't take the if I don't take the insulin... damn, I haven't lived for two decades yet...

  • Just a question if anyone can answer.

I know that Insulin is produced during type 2 diabetes but WHY dont the gets open after the insulin binds to the receptors on the cell?

WHY DONT THEY OPEN? What are the reasons behind that? If someone will please explain that would be great!

  • @hellscentre it doesn't produce two types of insulin, the cell needed "two" insulin balls to open, cause with type 2 the blood cells are less sensitive! that's the only explanation I can tell, cause I not a doctor

  • I don't feel any sympathy for type 2 diabetics. They brought it on themselves with their gluttony and apathy towards their health.

  • Hi and Thanks for this Info.

  • Both my parents are diabetic. This video is very helpful. Thank you so much for the upload.

  • try barley grass to all diabetes people.its really worth for your health

  • i would like to share the benifit of barley grass for people who suffers diabetis either or type 2.its really good for your health

  • It's people own fault if they have type 2 diabetes for being greedy and lazy by not exercising enough and eating too much in the first place.

If you eat your own body weight each week in mcdonalds, kfc, rice, white bread, corn syrup, maple syrup, pancakes, soda no wonder your body doesn't want any more glucose.

Stop buying that junk, your only making some greedy billionarie who owns the company even richer while poisoning yourself.

Type 1 diabetes is not anyone's fault just type 2.

  • How about ppl that do excersise and eat healthy but have a bad metabolism? Some people are overweight (and end up getting type 2 diabetes as a result) from something being wrong with their metabolism. It isn't always due to laziness.

  • Additionally, humans are "programed" to think that sugar/starch tastes good b/c it gives us energy. And, when it was cold and there was less food, we store all the fat we can to stay warm. But because we no longer live in a hunter/gatherer society, certain evolutionary functions that were advantageous then are no longer our advantage now.

  • @oldieschick16 Sadly most obese people get sucked in by corporations promoting sweet sugary, fatty foods because they are cheaper/ easier to prepare/tastier than proper healthy meals.

Simply, they lack the knowledge of how to eat better.

  • This is probably why some ppl eat when they are depressed: the body is tricked into thinking it needs energy, when a hormone in the brain is causing the body to be low in energy, the brain probably sends signals to the taste buds and stomach to signal hunger, so that the body can get the energy it feels it lacks. Because depression is a mood disorder, and the lack of energy isn't caused by lack of food, and the metabolism is low because of the depression, ppl will gain weight.

  • @oldieschick16 I know that there are the few exceptions of people who fall outside the normal variation in metabolism that gives them a heavier body weight.

If they do exercise and eat right then I suppose type 2 diabetes isn't their fault.

The majority of obese people need to learn a thing or two about proper nutrition they are probably deficient in iron, zinc, and other micro-nutrients which cause cravings which they mistake for foods with high energy content and little nutritional value.

  • @oldieschick16

By the way depression it not an excuse for being lazy.

I am depressed but I don't go out and buy kfc or eat sugar because that makes me even more depressed. I get of my ass and go out for a walk or jog which is what most people with depression should do. Exercise reduces depression. People shouldn't give into depression if they want to be healthy.

  • It depends on how severe the depression is for one thing, and how good/bad a person's metabolism is. Secondly, I do not think it is fair to point fingers and say "It's their own fault they have this disease" because that isn't solving the problem. Before you blame the unhealthy food companies (I'm not saying they don't deserve blame), how about the medicine/pharmacy industry? How about all of the money being made off of diabetics of both types? They don't want to find a cure b/c of greed.

  • @oldieschick16

No but it is their fault if they don't care about being obese and don't bother educate themselves about proper nutrition and get diabetes type 2 as a result.

Yes I agree that the pharmaceutical companies are greedy about not wanting to find a cure.

  • @oldieschick16 I do realize that it is harder for some obese people to go out in public and walk around because they may be afraid of being ridiculed about their size which would make them feel even worse but they shouldn't have let themselves get that way in the first place. They should think about this before they make the decision to gorge themselves.

  • @Manganese5 It is not always a decision. I admit that I'm biased b/c I am a little overweight and b/c type 2 runs in my family, and because of that bias, I hate to hear ppl put blame on the person who has it. My opinion is that regardless of fault, diabetes--both types--should be cured b/c it is a chronic disease and no one deserves to have their life depend on a daily injection, regardles if it is the person's "fault" or not.

  • @oldieschick16 Well type II diabetes is caused by today's processed food supply, homoginized and pasterized meat & dairy products, GMO foods, as well as consuming foods loaded with high fructose corn syrup.Least but not last over consumption of white flour & sugar.Cities that have high levels of Fluoride in the water supply have higher instances of obesity and diabetes since it affects the glands of the bodies including the pancreas.

  • thank you sooo much for sharing this educational video about diabetes. it's very clear and understandable. ^_^ it helps me review on the exam. thank you very much

  • Wow. I am 44 and I drink a lot of white wine, usually with pop/soda. Recently after imibbing, I have noticed a time later that I have developed hives on my breast and abdomen. I have also felt "tickles" on my head, face and body. My Dr told me 2 years ago that I am a candidate for diabetes....am I now on my way? My Dad's mom died of pancreatic cancer. YIKES!

  • @rainslave

hi! I would suggest you will try to drink or share to your friends and family, barley grass in capsule or powder.its really good for people who have health problems. either diabetis, hyper tension, atritis, ulcer.miraculous product..if you want to know more pls email me at chan_noli@yahoo.com

  • actually sandiegomitch, that is not true. I have type one diabetes but I got it when I was five, though everything else is very much correct.

  • Read the china study to understand diabetes predictors in cultural food choices; and reversing diabetes, through these choices.

  • hey xxfrutixx. you cant "LOSE" type 2 diabetes. you can only control it through modifiable life style changes such AS losing weight, exercise, sodium restriction etc. you can never "LOSE" diabetes, you can only control it. Diabetes is life long and if its not controlled it can definitely become worse than type 1. you should really consider your choice of words. you cant LOSE you can only CONTROL AND PREVENT.

  • does any one know about glucose toxicity induced insulin resistance? lot of research is going on regards to the glucose flux through hexosamine pathway, induced insulin resistance playing a major role in type II diabetes

  • It is no longer 4-7mmol/L as the normal range..it is now 4- 6 mmol/L (normal range)

  • makes me so sad about myself

  • More videos like this (only for physicians) at symposier (.com)

  • i love this video very easy to understand

  • @DarkRain9000 i no huh

  • @DarkRain9000 That is what I thought as well. :)

  • wow type 1 and type 2 are two different categories. I am taking metformin for mine. I have mistaken 2k for 4k pills. I almost passed out. Well I have to watch myself before it gets worst. I have also changed my diet. I have lost over 50+ in weight. that is american pounds okay. I hope there is a cure for this.

  • wow, so type 2 is worse than type one? or are they the same? i don't get it!

  • High level glucose can lead to all those symptoms, it doesn't matter wheter is because of type 1 or type 2 diabetes. In type 1 diabtes you DON'T have enough insulin, in type 2 diabetes you might have insulin but your body is not responding to it. No matter the reason, if you have high level glucose for a long period of time, you'll suffer al those problems.

  • @AndrusPr8 can a person suffer symptons but not be a diabetic?

  • @Zimba9810 Who knows? I suffered the opposite case, i didn't present any symptoms but i happen to have high sugar levels. Maybe you can suffer some of the symptoms, but they are result of another metabolic issue. But i'm not an endocrinologist or diabetologist. I'm just one of those cases where a young person suffers type 2 diabetes.

  • um no type 1 is worse in type 2 you dont need needles but type 1 u do and u are stuck with type 1 for the rest of you life its sp annoyiing but with type 2 you can get rid of it with losing weight

  • no u cant get rid of type 2

  • it depends how hard u have it because u can lose type 2 by diet and exercise

  • well to swine flue (yeah SWINE FLU) type 1 is better where the immune system is better and if your type 2 its more dangerous

  • Type 1 = Pancreas provides little or no insulin

Type 2 = Pancreas provides little insulin

If you are still puzzled Type 1 is worse as it may provide no insulin.

  • @madfish94 no way is type 1 worse, I'll take type 1 any day. It is not uncommon for type 1 diabetics to be full athletes. there is a whole tour de france cyclist team of type 1 diabetics.

Type 2 are people who are un active, overweight, eat poor foods, or older.

Type 1 = healthy people who are born with the pancreas not working correctly. all you they need to do is take a injection of Insulin, and there bodies function normal.

  • This video was easy enough to understand so that my brother knew what is wrong with me.
