this video is a couple of years old and since then I have been freshly squeezing all citrus into drinks to order. Simple syrup i still stand by, although sugar itself dissolved and mixed in is something i do too. With regards the measuring. i have always free poured...it is alot to do with feeling the drink and balancing on my taste as opposed to measures all the time. jiggers are used for some drinks and but not for all. thats how i do it and will continue to do that. check out the new season!
nice, though it is a bit disconcerting to see simple syrup and lime juice rather than the traditional practice of sugar in the glass, juice squeezed freshly over it, mixed, then of course ice then the rum... and no measuring with a jigger? I know you might feel comfortable with the difference between 1.5 and 2 ounces or 2 and 2.5, but precision is part of the art, then you adjust for the strong or light prefs of the drinker.
Hey Buddy. nice daiquiri. I in Havana next week on holiday& shall visit La Bodeguita del medio where hemingway had his favourite daiquiri's many moons ago. Word is these places r a mere photo opportunity nowadays &have lost the atmosphere that made them favoured haunts. None-the-less i shall check it out&then b on way along the Malecon. Let me know if want anything brought back buddy(im due u4 my bday gift) Either way we should puff on big fat cohiba's 2gether very soon. Take care my friend x
he actually had mojito's in el bodeguito del medio, la floridita was his favourite daiquiri spot. although i would reccomend el bodeguita del medio over la floridita. la floridita has a very sterile atmosphere
I think this is actually called a rum sour X-(
Daiquiri should have some Cointreau in it, or some other orange flavored liqueur.

good video. I love the classic daiquiri. Had to laugh at the rum splashing out at 0:38 though

Nice. it's just the way a purist would order a daiquiri.
