See problem with superweapons that are Orbital is.... protecting them. It's not hard for any single country to shoot down sata's. Especially if they try and orbit over said area. Although a weapon that employs kinetic energy from space would be capable of destorying almost any target and with great accuracy.

Oh and about the PLD (Point laser defense) weapons/counter-measueres. They are useless. A missile that slowly turns while heading to it's target will have no problems with it what so ever.

These are pretty common here in Israel. I have a miniture one of these to keep wild animals off our farm; I paid $24,700 (US) for it from our military and it can pop cattle like corn when it's turned up to high setting.

its funny how these wepons go against no laws and so cannot prompt fission weapons with out a over-the-top responce from the rest ot the world,

mainly becuse if one major power trys to fight with illigal wepons the rest of the major powers would most likely try to canablise their county to make theirs more powerfull.

Well anti nuke systems will destabilize the world as they will cast doubt on the result of a conflict between the major powers. So they are bad in that way.

But they are way too cool. I hope i see real footage of them in action in my life time.

With the amount of warheads, MIRV's and decoy warheads (thousands) posessed by the major powers, any abm systems will have to be extremely reliable and numerous to avoid mutually assured destruction.

The best I think they can realistically hope for in the near future is the ability to shoot down a very small number of missiles launched by a minor nuclear power.

I was talking about the MTHEL laser - it shoots down stuff like nuclear bombs. I think building a laser to defend against bombs is definitely more peaceful than making bombs to defend against bombs.
