This is just like the Roth/Hagar crap, and Jon Schaffer is Eddie. No one talks about him, just who was the better singer. Good luck with whatever you think will validate you. We will still be talking about Owens and Barlow as great metal singers, while this guitar player is reduced to writing columns in guitar magazines.
Awesome, The first album with Tim doesn´t like so much, but Framing Armageddon it´s simply once of the best metal albums... Matt is a good singer but Ripper rules.
Anithing has seen a live version of "Whatching over me" with Ripper on vocals, if you seen can post the video? thanks.
@beyondshadowsband What do you expect?? Have you ever been to Pops' in Sauget?? I have many times. The stage is not very big at all. When I saw Dio down there in 2002 he didn't have much of "stage presence" either. You just can't say that about Ripper Owens because it isn't true. Check out his vids of when he was with Priest! He was MUCH better than Halford......
Tim Owens is a great vocalist, but not for these Iced Earth songs sang by Matt Barlow. What I Think is that maybe Ripper is better as a high notes singer than Matt but Matt has great high notes and great baritone vocals, and that's what Ripper Owens lacks. His normal vocals are too gayish.
This is pretty good for not being Barlow. I like both ripper and barlow. It's not like he was Blaze singing Old Maiden songs and being a complete fail at it
Blaze did a phenomenal job while in Maiden. His renditions of many songs were better than Di'Anno's and Dickinson's, including Fear Of The Dark, Hallowed Be Thy Name, Afraid To Shoot Strangers, Wrathchild, Iron Maiden, The Trooper (Only one bad version of this song I've heard, all others were great) and there are others. Plus he recorded X-Factor, one of Maiden's best albums period.
@H4ll3luj4 Absolutely serious. One of the reasons I hated Iron Maiden as a kid was Bruce's voice. As soon as I heard Bayley was leaving Wolfsbane and joining Maiden, I was immediately interested, and those 2 albums remain my favorites to this day
I like both equally. They each have their own unique singing style. I think it would be cool if they did a duet conert and maby a duet album. That would be interesting. What do you think?
That'd be brilliant, especially if they used the parts of songs that sounded best. This song in particular would work really well with Ripper in the chorus.
I wonder now that Ripper is out of Iced Earth, do you think that Something Wicked PArt 2 will be better? I wonder do you think they should go back and redo Framing Armageddon and TGB with Matt?
Guys the barlow version is so much version..with more feeling into it..this is what this songs needs..rippers voice has feeling and its amazing all in all but melancholy is one of the greatest songs of iced earth and this songs need barlow..im so happy hes back.. xD
the most difficult dilema ever.....ripper or barlow !!!! as for the ripper or halford ? the easiest ever..ripper

I Like The Ripper's Falsetto.
I don't like Matt's.
I like them Tim more than Matt because of Tim's Falsetto. Tim's voice is amazing!
Matt's is ok though.

Damn, so brilliant. If they had only released a DVD from the time Ripper played there. He definitely is in my top 3 of the best singers ever.
I love this.
