  • the most difficult dilema ever.....ripper or barlow !!!! as for the ripper or halford ? the easiest ever..ripper

  • This is just like the Roth/Hagar crap, and Jon Schaffer is Eddie. No one talks about him, just who was the better singer. Good luck with whatever you think will validate you. We will still be talking about Owens and Barlow as great metal singers, while this guitar player is reduced to writing columns in guitar magazines.

  • no matter how much I prefer matt, I cannot say any bad words about this.. it still is FUCKING ICED EARTH !!!

  • I miss this guy.

  • I live in Belleville, Illinois I should have went to this. I remember hearin about it. Ripper RULES!!

  • Awesome, The first album with Tim doesn´t like so much, but Framing Armageddon it´s simply once of the best metal albums... Matt is a good singer but Ripper rules.

Anithing has seen a live version of "Whatching over me" with Ripper on vocals, if you seen can post the video? thanks.

  • awesome

  • Tim has no stage presence. Pathetic.

  • @beyondshadowsband Tim's epic voice IS his stage presence.

  • @onett128 He sounds like he wants to sound like Rob Halford all the time. Fuck that,

  • @beyondshadowsband What do you expect?? Have you ever been to Pops' in Sauget?? I have many times. The stage is not very big at all. When I saw Dio down there in 2002 he didn't have much of "stage presence" either. You just can't say that about Ripper Owens because it isn't true. Check out his vids of when he was with Priest! He was MUCH better than Halford......

  • @terminator2570 i fully agree ripper by far > than halford

  • this concert was loud, probably the loudest ive been to, of course i was right in front by the speaker

  • Sounds like a bad cover of it.

Not disrespecting Owens,he is an awsome singer and many would love to sing like he does, but not in Iced Earth.

    Matt Barlow Rules :)

  • Plain awesome, Ripper can sing anything.

  • Awesome... Ripper can sing anything.

  • please upload dracula with ripper owens

  • fuck u ripper u have destroyed 2 bands

  • @moby713 shit, shut the fuck up!!

  • I like both Owens and Barlow, but Barlow put more feeling into this song...Tim just can't do it like Matt...

  • Tim Owens is a great vocalist, but not for these Iced Earth songs sang by Matt Barlow. What I Think is that maybe Ripper is better as a high notes singer than Matt but Matt has great high notes and great baritone vocals, and that's what Ripper Owens lacks. His normal vocals are too gayish.

  • not barlow =(

i love how barlow's voice has that eerie feel to it.

  • This is pretty good for not being Barlow. I like both ripper and barlow. It's not like he was Blaze singing Old Maiden songs and being a complete fail at it

  • I coudn't agree more with you dude. You so got a point !!

  • Blaze did pretty well, those were massive shoes he was filling.

  • man Blaze was shit with maiden.... he just couldn't sing old maiden songs.... not even Di'annos.....

  • @945134life

Blaze did a phenomenal job while in Maiden. His renditions of many songs were better than Di'Anno's and Dickinson's, including Fear Of The Dark, Hallowed Be Thy Name, Afraid To Shoot Strangers, Wrathchild, Iron Maiden, The Trooper (Only one bad version of this song I've heard, all others were great) and there are others. Plus he recorded X-Factor, one of Maiden's best albums period.

  • @drewdaspriest

You cant be serious about Bayley singing those songs better than Mr. Dickinson .... ridiculous statement :-)

  • @H4ll3luj4 Absolutely serious. One of the reasons I hated Iron Maiden as a kid was Bruce's voice. As soon as I heard Bayley was leaving Wolfsbane and joining Maiden, I was immediately interested, and those 2 albums remain my favorites to this day

  • Tim Rules!

  • Matt Rules!

  • Matt is like the fucking king of power metal, throw every frontman that a metal fan can love and you get him

  • matt is much much better.tim is good but matt...is the best

  • I like tim more than matt*

  • I like both equally. They each have their own unique singing style. I think it would be cool if they did a duet conert and maby a duet album. That would be interesting. What do you think?

  • I agree with you

  • That'd be brilliant, especially if they used the parts of songs that sounded best. This song in particular would work really well with Ripper in the chorus.

  • I Know but, that will probably never happen a duet with Barlow and Owens that is. Although it would be nice to imagine what it would sound like.

  • @mkadragtonslayer thats what i was hoping they'd do with The Crucible of Man

  • @mkadragtonslayer that would be awsome

  • @mkadragtonslayer great idea man....i wish jon had think of it earlier cause know it is quite impossible!!!!!!

  • I Like The Ripper's Falsetto.

    I don't like Matt's.

I like them Tim more than Matt because of Tim's Falsetto. Tim's voice is amazing!

    Matt's is ok though.

  • The Barlow spirit cannot die... lol

  • I'm glad I saw this but Barlow is the man to sing this. I do want to hear other older songs sung by Ripper.

  • i agree my friend its pity that people cant understand this and that is true

  • lol, what the fuck kind of solo was that...?

that didnt sound like the melancholy solo.

  • That solo was bad. Geez...

  • Damn, so brilliant. If they had only released a DVD from the time Ripper played there. He definitely is in my top 3 of the best singers ever.

    I love this.

  • Man, I've seen them both live and both are brilliant. But the Ripper nails this version here. Awesome.

  • Barlow is da man!!!

    period

  • ripper is a very good singer, but barlow suits much better in iced earth than ripper.

  • I wonder now that Ripper is out of Iced Earth, do you think that Something Wicked PArt 2 will be better? I wonder do you think they should go back and redo Framing Armageddon and TGB with Matt?

  • Barlow is much better, Ripper was good in judas priest and he should have stayed there to be honest

  • Guys the barlow version is so much version..with more feeling into it..this is what this songs needs..rippers voice has feeling and its amazing all in all but melancholy is one of the greatest songs of iced earth and this songs need barlow..im so happy hes back.. xD

  • AMEN to that

  • Meant Barlows version is so much better.. mistyped... xD

  • Agreed, Owens nailed it with Gettysburg though, he's perfect for it.

  • Yeah for Gettysburg and for the glorious burden he is the best..but i still believe that barlow is the singer for iced..

  • esta cancion no es para owens!!!

realmente hace que la cancion apeste..

pero barlow hizo que setian massacre fuera una reverenda porqueria

  • Ripper is just awsome

  • It's good but his voice doesnt really fit this song. I love Tim but he really doesnt sound right singing Barlow era stuff it seems.

  • Holy Shit! His voice gives this song an awesome sound!!!
