OK, it's well armored... BUT: It's heavy as hell and can't swim. In Eastern Europe (main area of its tactical operation) it's rather not very useful -it easly get stuck in heavy mud and easy swamps and can't cross very numerous rivers and lakes... And it's hellish expensive... You can buy at least three amphibious BTR-90 with comparable firepower and uncomparably better manoeuvrability (ie. turning at place of standing).

Who win the engagement when 1 Boxer meet 3 distributed BTR-90, hmm? :)

OK, Boxer could be very useful when on Autobahn :p But it will be naive to expect the confilct will happen on a motorway! The price-tag for Boxer is comparable to a russsian tank which is uncomparably more durable and also Autobahn-compatible ;)

Ps. And amphibious mode of BTR-90 is a feature that is hard to overvalue!

They've built a rescue vehicle with terrain capabilities lower than the already existing one(s):

1. Can it swim over water obstacles (rivers, lakes)? Apparently NOT.

2. Can it drive through the half-meter-depth mud terrain? Hardly believable, 33 tons.

3. How many bridges in the potential area of warfare could survive that monsterito? Not so many, as they are mostly built for trucks up to 20 tons.

4. And very simple thing: can it drag itself with a winch?

1. no, it is not amphibian, but he can deep wading (what a lot other machines can not)

2. is it constructed to operat in regions where is no "half-meter-depth mud terrain" ... we are not in Russia ;-)

3. as i wrote, he can deep wading, so we need no bridge, but if we need a bridge, we have the bridge-laying tank Bieber, that can give a bridge for vihicles up to 55 tons

4. what do you think about a second Boxer??? ;-)

OK, imagine following case study somewhere off the road in usual European landscape:

1. Two Boxers slide down into the river wade over the muddy and steep riverbank;

2. They successfully pass through the wade, having detailed maps of every sudden pit on their way, and close to the other side of the river;

3. They try to climb up the other muddy and steep riverbank but the moist soil vs 33 tons... And the other Boxer is still in water!

in basic version the lazar is armored like an atf dingo, only with the adaptive armor it is nearly at the boxer, but i think adaptive armor would not be standard (the name say adaptive ;))

@Lewisit As I told you the engine is Mercedes' and should be stronger in the second series of some 650-700hp. Armor is a multi-making and even composed of four different substances in the Basic version except that it can add extra protection and ERA from T90 tanks. The glass surfaces of all the armor and it was proved that they can not be pierced even RPG. and if you do not trust tests to see MI28 because the same glass used lazar

This is a very good looking vehicle but at 32t it would be restricted only on roads. Mud? Forget it... Furthermore the size of it indicates indicates that those 32t are widespread and not as impressive as they appear. Does anyone know if it can at least skidsteer like a tracked vehicle, like the AMX - 10 RC and the BTR-90? If not then it's a waste of money.
