I know you don't need to kite him, this method just worked best for us.

it would have worked quicker and better if you didnt kite him. melee dps isnt running round chasing him all the time and ranged dps suffer less pushback

This was on the PTR and we just came up with a strat on the spot, but your right, that is the best way to do it and is how I do tank him now.
