I remember these sorts of systems from ages ago, except that when I played them, they were sold as what they were (as much cheaper alternatives to things like the gameboy, gamegear and lynx).

Though I haven't seen anything like these popstations here in Australia, even in the more dodgy places like paddy's market in Sydney the are more likely to be selling pirated console games than things like these, and Australian equivalents of poundland don't se;; stuff like this.
