  • are those colmans?

  • @HVACKID94 the one on the right is the larger one.

  • her name is rio and she dances on the sand .

  • why 2?

  • Because there is an upstairs and a downstairs plus a basement and attic. Half the house is a vaulted ceiling of 26 ft. One system cannot cool that area, so we have a smaller system for the 4 rooms upstairs and the larger system for the entire downstairs. The attic and basement are not cooled. The small system is in the attic blowing down. The larger system is in the basement blowing up.

  • @scaredrosey We have one unit for the main floor and a smaller unit for the upper floor which was actually the attic (12 pitch roof on a cape). The two together also help to cool the living area which has vaulted 26 ft ceilings.

  • dip shit didn't cut the shaft down because that's a universal motor ,shaft needs to be cut to length

  • an its not a wire. a wire wont make it do that an it it was hitting the wire you got about 3 sec to get it off

  • you might want to change out the blade dumb ass or call a factory york tech need a phone number

  • who is the hack that did that?

  • looks like the fan blade is out of balance most likely it is what made the motor go bad in the first place

  • what jackass installed that fan motor

  • @samperipeter Yeah, exposed wiring and all. I only counted three mounting screws for the motor.

  • ???????

  • The saddest part of all of this is that this was supposed to be a professional job for a lot of money. We will be "do-it-yourselfers" from now on. I just feel bad for the honest repair business owners who lose business because those of us who were ripped off will never trust anyone else again.

  • year that maks us all look bad.

  • Both cu'fans seem to be improper hs and rpm's

  • The one on the right has a wire hanging down banging on the fan blade.

  • probably some home warrenty band aid rescue motor b.s.

  • lol, That universal condensor motor is like 50-75 dollars to buy... and it takes less than 30 minutes to install. 750 dollars?

  • ouchy

  • You can use a "universal" motor vs. going to York for an OEM. But you do need to match the HP and RPM's of the motor to match the duty of the motor to the load of the fan blade. And only a jackleg hangs those reversing wires through the fan grill. I cut mine off and use dead end connectors so they NEVER fall into the blade or rott from the sun. I bet you $10 the new Run Capacitor is also hanging under the fan on that unit. The HVAC biz has too many HACKS!

  • need to match more that HP and RPM. Need to match Voltage, phase, HP, match or less amp draw, RPM, frame size, enclosure type, Service factor match or exceed, shaft size

  • Well, that stuff is OBVIOUS LOL! I was listing what most people overlook! The average DIY will find his way to getting a 230V for a 230V and the same FRAME by walking into Grainger or something. But they often think that going BIGGER HP rating is better, etc. :p

  • need to match more that HP and RPM. Need to match Voltage, phase, HP, match or less amp draw, RPM, frame size, enclosure type, Service factor match or exceed, shaft size

  • ooo that sounds lovely

  • $750 is cheap..............next time hire a union HVAC company

  • um balance that and get theos wiers off the grill dumbass

  • Thanks, but this was already fixed. I only posted this as proof if I needed to take the repair guy to court cause he charged me $750 for this crap job.

  • $750! That motor only costs about $50.00 and the Capacitor $5.00 Wholesale! You WERE ripped off

  • more like 130 for the motor, 50 wont even be the contractors cost from the wholesale house, unless it is some chinese made junk motor you buy from menards.

  • My catalog lists a ¼ HP 1075 RPM 208-230V Dayton condenser fan motor part# 4M205 at $49.70. Heck you can buy it on the internet for $62.

  • $130? WTF? An OEM from a YORK distributor wouldn't cost us anywhere NEAR that! I'm talking getting the EXACT motor for this unit from a YORK distributor! Universal G.E., Emerson, A.O.Smith, etc goes for $39 to $59 for us!

  • The fan blade seems to be out of balance.

  • You need to get someone in to fix it quite quickly!

  • It already fixed. Thanks :)

  • looks to me like whoever did the recent repair bent one of the fan blades before re-installing it. Causes all sorts of turbulence and vibration. But yeah, york parts are hard to get ahold of.

  • Loom missing on right unit. The fan wires have probably either opened or shorted by now

  • This video is of the bad repair job - we have since had it repaired correctly. I made this video because the owner of the A/C repair place didn't believe me when I said they did a bad job.

  • get a daikin

  • You just need a new condenser fan bearings might have went also check the fan blades they might be causing the vibration but judging by the sound new fan will probably fix it.

  • You did not see the wires huh?

  • i really did not notice anything wrong my speakers dont work hhahahaah and a hohoho

  • so did the guy get sucked up in it or what that caused it to actually start working better

  • i'm suprised the compressor didn't burn out.

  • This is the normal working condition of a York cooling system. The left hand unit is not working propertly.

  • The left one has always worked fine. The right ones fan became off balance. Cannot get york parts. The tried to fit a motor that was too big with the incorrect fan blades. The wiring is both pathetic and dangerous. This was done from a professional for $700.

  • call a pro

  • repair?

  • Looks like the fan guard is not secured to the chassis. Also the fan probably not secured to the fan guard. And by the way what was repaired?

  • It needed a new motor, but the guy put in the wrong size motor and that caused the fan to go off kilter and not spin smoothly. Eventually they found a motor that was not the right one, but fit and put in a new fan that is also not the right one, but ran more smoothly.

  • I have a Master's HVAC license and run my own business. This is really shoddy workmanship, but I don't have to tell you that. How old is the system? Did they offer you the option of replacement? York equipment really does have a problem with not making their parts available in many areas.

  • where are you that you can not get York parts? I was the regional service manager for York International Baltimore/Washington UPG for 14 years. That unit is an olympian series. Most items are standard, Plus it probably had a 5 year warranty on all parts. You tell me where you are and I'll tell you where your closest distributor is. In fact if you have trouble trying to determine what is wrong with a York system you happen to be working on I'd be more than happy to walk you through it.

  • some how I messed up and forgot to address this to hewhoschozn,,,sorry,,,but really "he" if you have problems with York gear contact me. I'll help you out

  • I'm in South Georgia. We have to get our parts out of Tallahassee which is 2 hours away.

  • This was fixed with "other" parts. Its better but nowhere near like it was. I will never hire that AC guy again and tell everyone not to use him. I am near Poughkeepsie NY.

  • wrong motot and fan vlades bent will do that to ya, who did you have work on this thing?

  • so like tie the wires up so they not hitting....

  • That is the least of the problem. The motor was the wrong size and the fan blades were bent which made the whole unit shake and make the horrible noise. The ground wire was attached flimsly on the outside. The others could be tied up but should be enclosed in weather proof casing - they could have easily been sliced by the fan and cause an electrocution hazard.

  • pathetic repair on an AC system.
