that thing looks like it has more power than the humvee. but they still havent showed me it all loaded down with soldiers wearing gear and all the ammo and other crap that has to be in the truck. plus the add on armor and all that. then put it through its course. the humvees are junk and always braking down. and as far as the push buttons they have that crap in the new MRAPs and it works just fine everything is push button now.
The whole push button thing seems like way too much tech. Shouldn't a military vehicle be, tough, reliable, and SIMPLE? The cab looks more like a cockpit. Seems like more stuff to break and more money to replace when it fails or is destroyed. Let the guys set their own tire pressure. Maybe I'm wrong but it just seems like overkill.
Hmmmm, the cost of the machine vs the cost of the occupants of the machine? This vehicle is expensive, but I feel our soldiers are worth a hell of a lot more. As for it's performance in comparison to the humvee, anyone who has actually sat in it and gotten to try it out has nothing but good things to say so far. I say it is worth it. However, as light vehicle, for reconnaissance, I'd say no. The humvee was still too big. Miniaturize this, with fewer bells and whistles.
so what if its just a little bigger the life span and durability of it is more than 2x.. my father is currently in the USMC and going on 21 years of service and he had the chance to try the "cheetah" as its nicknamed and he said it is far better in everything from mobility....off roading...armor...... and now it has a robotic machinegun on top where the gunner is inside shooting..... so no more negative comment about this wonderful vehicle.... this thing will save our soldiers
@97devilpup just 5 % of this vehicles have the electrically powered .50 cal,the cost of just one of those turrets is so ridiculously high, you are been robbed.
Obviously a lot of time and thought was put into this. Something like "urr lets just makes everything bigger". It's meant to be a LIGHT vehicle. The hummer was always pushing that anyway. This isn't a light vehicle at all. It's just a wheeled APC.
theres no need to waste more tax money we has a new u.s.a made vehicle Oshkosh M-ATV , if you want to help the usa build factories to build t.v and p.c and all types of goodies to sell to americans and the world, like we use to! and stop buying everthing from china wake the f---- up
It looks like the next gen vehicle that our troops fighting in Afghanistan and Iraq deserve. I'm sure, that it costs multiples of what US Govt pays for current Humvees, but, I do believe, that we should supply our bravest with best of the best.
When i join the military after my senior year i would love to drive the CTV over the humvee any day. CTVs seem to better for patrol and more suited to an ambush than the humvee. So i'd have to go with the CTV i wanna survive long enough to get in the fight not die from a roadside bomb
It appears that MRAPs and M1s are getting blown up on a regular basis resulting in injuries and deaths. So where is the so called superior protection? The latest up armored humvees are more than adequate. The only sure way to protect everyone from an IED is to locate them in NORAD.

i am from germany and we have the DINGO, which looks like the CTV and we also have the Fennek. but as far for the humvee, its just a character you cant just trade i think, i would replace it for patrols, but itsso versitile... but you are the american, not me, so i respect your solution...
Actually, I spent the better part of a week in the CTV and during the same period did a road move driving the humvee in this story. In terms of functionality and mobility, the CTV is far better. The humvee got stuck in the sand four times and had to be towed. It also had difficultly making it up the hill. You can sit six with gear in the CTV as opposed to four in the humvee. The CTV is the most superior military vehicle I have experienced in 18 years in the military.

how many people can fit into it?
zeusgarcia97 1 year ago
it's amazing how people will bullshit to sell products. they made the tech demonstrator strong enough so a 45mph roll-over wouldn't hurt ?!
and this thing is so big now the maneuverability is sacrificed.

WOW, they are mis-representing HUMVEE handling characteristics. Very interesting, who would ever think these so called science people would lie?
Well what about the numerous people that have died from IED blasts riding withing MRAPS and tanks? You mean to tell me these vehicles are not safe?

That thing looks badass. I especially love the hydraulics and self inflating tires!
