First off, a big reason for having the convention is that, unlike the Republicans and Democrats, the Libertarian National Convention is actually a fund raiser--it makes money, not loses it (and certainly not at taxpayer expense).
As for the dress code, those "Libertarians" are missing the point--Libertarians should not be against SELF-IMPOSED rules and codes. We like UL, ISO, and IEEE. It's only when they're imposed by force that Libertarians should take issue with it.
