How srtong is the peper in this i cant stand peper dominated scents or a pepper dry down. or fresh chilli note. recently i got Dzonkgha from l'artisan and that scent was smooth and great till an hour later where it turned to freshly chopped pepper and now im going to have to return it. also i can tolerate pepper in terre d hermes and chanel edition blanche because those are very mild and dont take over.
This stuff is GREAT! I tryed a sample off Luckyscents very soon after watching your video. Than bought a new bottle VERY quick after sampling. Montale - Red Aoud is going to be one of my most used fragrances, first impression of this I was sniffing in some Sweetness + Oud. The sweetness was not Sugary(new haarlem) it smelled like the sweetness that comes with "Kettle Cooked Popcorn".. I was very close to getting a bottle of New York Oud for double the price of Red Aoud and THANKYOU for Red Aoud!
That's a very spicy oud. But I guess it's best suited for men. I bought a sample of Lime Oud hoping that it would be more feminine. It is indeed! But it is reminiscent of a product that I loathe: Veet depilatory cream. I' m really trained into evoking that smell, although I' ve only used the cream a long time ago, for a couple of years. Now, I can't have an unbiased sense on this one. :( Ata, what does Aoud Lime smell like to you?
Frankly speaking, it is difficult to capture the brilliant exquisite smell of burning agawood into perfumes.....I have sampled some of montale fragrances and they seem to me orientalist....for a western crowd, yes but for me an Arab, there are a lot of choices which I am not sure if they are available in western markets such as Ajmal and Rasasi perfumes.
@noharddays Go with Kilian's Incense Oud, 10 Corso Como, Saffran Aoud by Montale (LuckyScent doest carry this), Le Labo's Oud 27, Oud Shamash by The Different Company, Al Oud by L'artisan
@noharddays That depends on how much experience you have with Oud. Can you tell the difference between Indian Oud vs. Indonesian Oud vs. Laos Oud or you are just starting to get exposed to oud
my man, great! These explanations are perfect for all, frag teacher dude, this is what we need, and i really appreciate it, keep it! hugs from Brazil!
Great job buddy. Some of my top favorite notes right here!! Hope to smell this one, it sounds like it would satisfy my quirkiness ha.. I'd keep the reviews just how they brother =) take care!
Great review Ata i actually ordered samples of this today from Perfumed Court they had 30% off on the samples... looking forward to trying this. But off topic have you tried Bond No9 New York Oud? If so what's your opinion. I've been testing it but i want to get someone's else's take on it. I have Kilian's Incense Oud and i love it. Just want your opinion thanks.
@IDONTPLAYENT Hey Buddy! Thanks for watching. I know both of those fragrances pretty well and here is my opinion, hope it doesn't offend you in any way if you think otherwise. New York Oud is a very nice fragrance but it is an embarrassing that they have called this an "Oud" fragrance. This fragrance has 0 Oud in it. It is a Pass for me. As far as Kilian's Incense Oud, I believe that it is a very well made fragrance but the price tag that they are charging is way too much for what you are gettin
@fristpartisan So If you really like Incense Oud, I suggest getting the re-fill bottles; however, I believe that there are way better Ouds out there than what Kilian's offering in their Oud series.
Man, guys I hate Oud and can't stand that shit, but Red Aoud is just straight up sexy! Ata thank you so much for introducing this to me, the dry down does seem creamy chocolate. Once again, top notch review and it just keeps getting better!
Excellent vid me friend!!!!!! This sounds absolutely delicious! I will have to get my nose on this! Very informative! Man saffron is expensive as hell!! Project like a beast......yeah this sounds like it's right up my alley, lol.
Great review bro, you sold me on this guy!! Looks like I'm going to have to put this guy to the top of my buy list... Keep them reviews coming brother!!!
@Fejosol Black Aoud is one of my favorites but it is not appealing to everybody, this one is more appealing and it is worth the investment in my opinion.
Awesome review Ata. I appreciated you explaining the story about the bottle. I'm a huge fan of Oud so I will have to check this one out for sure. Thanks
@notreveh I love your country! I have had some good times in Rio, Buzios, and Fernando de Noronha. I will be back in a few months (hopefully for Christmas and New Years)
Awesome review Bro! This stuff sounds intresting I will need to check it out, but my first Montale that I will be getting is the beauty Aoud Cuir d'Arabie that you inroduced me too, I really loved that one. I love watching your videos bro, they are always educational and help expand my knowledge of fragrances to look into. Keep them coming friend!
@codehorror Tony, Thanks alot brother. I appreciate all the kind words, I do learn also watching your videos. I think you will enjoy this fragrance but I also knew that you would enjoy Aoud Cuir d'Arabie. You have tons of experience with Oud bro, that is awesome. I personally think that Red Aoud should be the first Montale oud fragrance that one smells and Aoud Cuir d'Arabie the last.
i must try this now. Will be ordering some Montales from luckyscent soon. Great review buddy. I almost felt like I could smell it from your description.
Check out Dark Aoud if you haven't already, definitely a great one.

Yell, you're right! I have samples coming of Incense and Rose Oud from LuckyScent. I don't know why I didn't just get all three.

What do you think of the By Kilian Arabian NIghts Collection (Pure Oud, Rose Oud, and Incense Oud?
gibsonlr1 2 months ago
@gibsonlr1 Love Pure Oud, I don't like the Turkish Rose used in Rose Oud and I really enjoy Incense Oud but Incense Oud is not a true Oud scent :)
