Yes, Bono and U2 have achevied alot but they worked very hard to where they got. It took them thousands of concerts before they got big. When i seen there 83 concert on VHS in Denver, I even told my own mother that this band is going to be big one day and I was right. I did meet Bono and the boys a few times since i have seen U2 13 times in concert since 1985. I told Bono that I wish I could work for him and he told me, " I wish I could work for you.I think he was trying to say it is hard work.
I'm so jealous of him. He was so young here and full of plans about leading U2 and now it's pretty clear he has achieved everything he wanted! Being 20 and wanting to live everything at once is driving me crazy!
this guys brilliant i think he's sufferd of late almost heard him being apologetic..I wish he's never do another NME interview he might've reasd that growing up.but they're irrelevant now..NME come out fighting Bono I#ll back you boy
How can anyone be negative after this. I mean if you have NEVER known who Bono is or what he's doing now you would say this young man is incredibly smart and more humble than his fellow musicians of the time.
@thetrueparadisecity I agree with you as well. Most people that say bad things about others who are not only sucessful, but save lives on this earth, are unhappy and discrutled about there own lives. What a pity. Have a realationship with God and maybe you wouldnt be so unhappy and have bad things happen in your life and quit slamming on a wonderful human being.
@BarkingEggplant You say that about a wonderful person who has not only gave happyness to millons of people in his music, but also has saved thousands and if not millons of lives. What did you ever do you? Probebly nothing. Because most people who say things bad about good people are unhapppy inside. Another wondering spirit. How sad.
Who cares what he is wearing. That has nothing to do with his intelligence etc.... If you really need to know that,, to me he looks like he is wearing a leather jacket also made with brown sweade but like i said that is not important. What is important is what the Bono says etc..... He is an incredible human being
@BrotherHubbs the Bono? like the Buddha?..lol i do think U2 is a cult, a religion to many people, bono is their Jesus, their Saviour, and larry, the edge, & adam their disciples, really, i'm sure there's people that would kill themselves if something happened to U2 -how fucking pathetic, did bono just come from the set of a middle ages film? or renaissance festival? i think he is playing a peasant, lol, ireland does have castles, lol, only Jesus is Lord, receive him into your heart
@iEatwoMensbuTThoLes Your comments are not only ridiculous but ludicris as well. I never even thought of Bono as being Jesus Chirst or the band being his disciples and all the other nonsense gargabe you said about them. I have been a fan since 1984. Sounds like from what you wrote about U2 that your just jealous and another discrunteld and unhappy human being.
I am so glad you like this early interview with Bono. I have been wanting to put in on Youtube for a number of years and now i finally did it!! I seen U2 this past july 5th 2011 at Solider field in Chiacgo. This is the 15th time i have seen U2! GOD BLESS THEM ALL!!! : )
@BrotherHubbs i hope you saw anything before zoo tv, because after rattle and hum, lovetown tour, U2 died.........if u saw zoo tv and after, u just saw lights, dancing, a bunch of bullshit, dancing with the stars, soap operas, that's all, that' all, disco too.........
@iEatwoMensbuTThoLes I seen U2 in concert since March of 1985. I love all of U2 Tours but i will admit, my favorite tour was The Joesh Tree but U2 did not die. They chopped down the J Tree and continued on to be The Greatest Band in the World.
I love this man! Intelligence and heart, poet and sex symbol! Successful because he truly believes in what he says, they are the little band that could <3
theedge2009 im glad you liked this rare early interview with Bono. if you get a chance type in on youtube Sightings of Bono if u havent seen this i think you will like it. Best, BrotherHubbs
I walked past the man himself back in the late 80s - which wasn't and still isn't all that unusual an occurance in Dublin (he was chatting to someone, leaning up against a car. I shuffled past him and left him in peace.
My Bono house story. Yeah, I was with a friend and we went to check it out one day. We were reading lyrics that are written in bronze on the gate when it suddenly opened (like the Mordor gates!) Turns out it was only a security guard going home. We had a good laugh
@WhoDoYouWant Im glad you liked the video. I see you live in Ireland. I like to visit there someday. Ever walk past Bonos house? Let me know. Best, Bob from Chicago IL USA
