Chet lived the life. Even as his voice was ravaged by smoking, booze, drugs and aging, he could pull off that incredible scat singing in this song. It's one of his best performances ever!
Thanks vlaimirsmartin. Yeah I ended up looking it up and saw that it was indeed Harold. He sounds great here as do the Bass and Drums. I thought it might have been McNeely, he's on another CB record I have w/Stan Getz.
He was more than the pretty face that made women and gay men swoon when he was a young man. The first jazz CD I ever listened to was a Chet Baker CD. Thanks for posting.
He was a natural born gifted genius musician lived only for music & didn't care about anything else. That's the reason he was a drug addict. It gave him the energy stamina he need to create. He took Baudelaire's advise - 'One should always be drunk' - with wine, poetry, virtue or music.' Chet Got Drunk on music and this was his real addiction & gift to at least a part of mankind.
It's unbelievable how pure talent and passion stay constant during a life time of self-destruction and self irresponsibility... Chet is more than just a human... Great video vladimirsmartins!
Take a look at other Chet's videos I posted: My Funny Valentine, Candy, My Ideal, Just Friends. And visit my channel, if you can. There's a lot of gems right there. Thanks.
somebody knows the adress of the school that teaches to sing like that?

Yes, indeed! Sorry, I had no choice: YouTube doesn't allow more than ten minutes per video.

It's hard to believe that he was such a 'pretty boy'. Drugs will take take you down fast! But boy, could he play and sing!!!

glad to see some Chet Baker again, YTube has been blocking all his videos, let's hope now they'll leave this one alone. Thanks for posting it, Bob!!
