There was a chorus of people behind me that kept yelling, "keep playing the hits!" in a very sarcastic manner. Which I thought was pretty hilarious. Oh and the 12 year old kid selling weed next to me was pretty comical as well, if not a little pathetic.
I was pretty dissapointed with the show for the same reasons mentioned below. It was my first time seeing MMouse live. They actually sounded better at this show than any of the live recordings I've heard, so that was a plus. But I just kept waiting for them to play something off of A Long Drive or Lonesome Crowded West... but I left dissapointed.
Yeah...It's too bad you didn't see them before this album's tour, their shows were much more interesting before now...I saw them again a month or so ago (only because they were with man man), and it was a pretty bad show (again). Here's hoping for next album.
i am not and idiot. it was fun... lol. my arm is in the lower left corner. thanks for posting this bruh. it was a great set. like u said very HIGH energy. high is in caps for a reason. lmao
I've always thought maybe that since Johnny Marr is new that he didn't know all the old songs well enough yet. Hopefully after this tour they will do another one and get back to their old stuff.
I'm just hoping that they played a set like this as a result of it being a festival. Doesn't really make up for it, I guess, but the songs would match the crowd they were likely to get.
i'm glad they got float on and dashboard finished early on in the show to clear our the faggots and bitches. they are pretty good songs. but put them up against even something like cowboy dan and you see the true brilliance of what is modest mouse.
all of your comments are absolutely true and capture perfectly what I found wrong with the show. I like the songs they played, i like dashboad i like float on, I just miss songs like broke, cowboy dan, dramamine, talkin shit about a pretty sunset, stuff like that. I've heard them play all of them at other shows and they absolutely blow anyone who hears them away. They shouldn't be holding themselves back.
i hate that they adapt their set list because people won't "know" the song.
i've been a modest mouse fan forever. they are hands down my favorite band. then of course things like built to spill, death cab, shins, muse, interpol, decemberists, and the like.
i sang along the whole show and freaked out the whole time. i told some girl to fuck off. this chick asks me "is this the band that plays 'float on'?" and i said "are you the girl that's not supposed to be here? FUCK off"
i was front row for this. i just went straight there when i got into the festival. there were too many tools there. i thought they had a pretty good set, but c'mon brock used to live in chicago and they have a huge indie following in the underground.
to think more moon and antarctica wasn't played kind of sucked. tiny cities made of ashes was a must. and where the fuck was dramamine? doin' the cockroach? out of gas? convenient parking? karma payment plan? never ending math equation?
there is nothing bad about this... they are amazing live.

I strongly disagree about this show being considered anything close to great; but good you enjoyed it, I guess.
