  • I renember last year when it was the 11th of the 11th that 1 minute silence people were still talking in class and "laughing" at those who died.

Some of them got expelled for doing that.

  • fuck them they were pobably islamic swines

  • Nope they were white and they had that "Ghetto" speak in them.

  • Bless you Mr. Allingham and Mr. Patch, God had a reason to let you live so long, perhaps that was to remind us if the loss that war brings, but also to show us the cost of freedom.

  • R.I.P Henry..

  • wow respect to this man and to all men and women who serve their countries

  • i wanna cry

  • R.I.P to Henry Allingham. You will be missed so.

  • you are a caste-iron idiot. the man had no lawful reason not to join military. besides he went to war as he seen it as his DUTY to serve regardless of his personal views about war, and you should be glad he did go for if he and his generation did not you might be speaking german today. that said, now get down on your knees and ask god to forgive your ignorance.

  • If you had any respect, regardless of your entitlement to your opinion you would air your views elsewhere

  • Thank you ever so much Henry, Harry and all the lads (on either side). Your legacy shall go on through the generations.

  • Henry Allingham was a true hero and gent and the world is a darker place without him.

R.I.P Henry you will never be forgotten xxxx

  • Henry Allingham and now Harry Patch both gone one week apart from each other. How very say. May these two remarkable veterans rest in peace.

  • We lost Henry and Bill Stone this year, as well as Aussie hero Jack Ross.

May they all RIP and may they all be remembered.

  • Amen.

  • R.I.P Henry Allingham

This was a man who made Britain great

This was a man who was a hero

This man was a true gentleman the likes of which we won't see again

    Goodnight and Godbless xxx

  • Well said.

    RIP Henry.

  • RIP Henry Allingham. A true British hero if ever there was one.

  • Henry Allingham was a real hero

  • Thankyou Mr Allingham.. Rest In Peace..

  • Rest in Peace Mr. Allingham

  • This was a man who justified his long years on earth by his determination to honor standards so easily forgotten in our day, and those who died that we might live. He set an indelible example. I wept over his death, as should many others. How many men or women of his caliber are alive today? Not enough. Rest in peace, good soldier, great man, comrade in arms who never forgot.

  • Men or women of his caliber alive today? Very few, I doubt that any will emerge from the future generations in this fluffy world of ours.

  • Hear hear!

This was a man from an era of no welfare, no hand outs. It was shut your mouth, dust yourself off and don a stiff upper lip.

He was a true embodiment of what once made Britain great.

I have to wonder what he thought about the world he was leaving. Was it worth all he sacrificed and the millions of his brothers in arms as well. Somehow I think not.

  • R.I.P HENRY ALLINGHAM

  • R.I.P Henry Allingham

  • RIP Mr. Allingham..

  • Lovely tribute video. Hope you don't mind but I've added a link back to it from the page for Henry that is on the Lasting Tribute website.

    A great man.

  • Not in the least! I am honoured; as I am sure that Henry Allingham would have been by your gesture. Thank you ... PJP

  • The life of one man can only be justified by the measure of his sacrifice...

Rest now, before you set off again on the path to eternity...

  • Rest In Peace, Henry.

I met Henry back in 2004, but the resonance and importance of his message of never forgetting WWI and the horrible cost that the world paid in innocent, promising young lives didn't hit me until I visited the war cemeteries in and around the Somme in 2006. I literally just broke down in front of my Great Uncle's grave.

If anyone has earned an eternity of peace, it is the wonderful Henry Allingham. Thank you.

  • Rest In Peace Henry, a true hero.

  • sleep well old boy, you deserve it.

  • I hope he would stand up again. I pray for him and the rest of surviving WWI veterans.
