@PCXPBOY the so call "standard" you are asking about would be a "resistive touch".You would find that tech on many cheap platforms. Capacitive would be the way to go if you really want to boost your day to day performance when using touch screen enable laptops. See it this way. capacitive is, similar, equal to the tech used on a iphone or ipod touch screens, expect for the multitouch features. Resistive is equal to the Chinese touch screen enable phones that are sold on eBay or on any website.
@Gatecra5her dude are you some sort of "perfect human" or what???? If this would've been speech class, then you're comment would've been "constructive", but this isn't the case unfortunately. later
Great! All they years of me yelling at my kids to keep their fingers off the screen... I think this is a very bad idea. Why would you want to touch the screen?
Wow! This is a really informative video, thanks for illustrating the differences between the two. I thought that the capacitive technology would be superior, but I had no idea just how much better it was.
Don't feel too bad -- it's obviously not an iPhone, but... then... Vista really isn't quite designed for finger use.
But, WOW. Capacitive touchscreens rock resistive touchscreens faces off. Now if only Dell would make a 13.3" one... :D
