Colin Powell is a confused idiot! He says he's a republican and that McCain is the "ideal" republican candidate and then he endorses Obama, a far far left liberal! But he is the ultimate politician! NOBODY has any clue as to what he actually stands for! He's a blank slate, so he is whatever you want him to be! All things to all people! A republican who voted for Obama! Hmmmm...could race have played any part in that decision? Naahhh couldn't be! LOL!
Mr. Powell, at one time i would have cast a vote to aid in making you the first black president in America, mostly based on your military background.Since then, i have changed my opinion about you .I do though wonder if you may be a( yes man) or just along for the ride ,on another mans wagon,or BOTH.hummmm!!!
Politics aside...General Powell is 10 times the man Rush will ever be...its like comparing apples to oranges...Powell is a decorated military general with tons os service to his country...Rush is a draft dodging, drug-addicted coward...jut like Cheney.
BTW, the firemen's case was not a tricky case. Sotomayor's summary judgement on the case was voted down 9-0 by the Supreme Court. That's unanimous for you libs out there.
Powell can't seem to get over his fixation with a radio show host. Perhaps it's because Rush told the stark truth about Powell, namely that he supported Obama strictly because he was black. The truth apparently hurts the prince of affirmative action.
Sotomayor is clearly a racist and sexist idiot. She's made DOZENS of sexist and racist remarks for decades. As has Obama and Powell. She was even a member of La Raza which literally translates to the "The Race" which was founded by a crazy extremelt racist hispanic nationalist. And Obama himself attended an extremely racist black nationalist church himself. Powell also has expressed his support for "affirmative action" aka politically correct bigotry multiple times.
And the excuses he made for not supporting his extremely close friend and fellow Republican John McCain were very hard to believe and reeked of manufactured bullcrap. And he's the only Republican I know who says Americans want to pay higher taxes and want more government control in their lives. He seems to be a political oppurtunist. Whichever party is popular he joins. He'll declare himself a Democrat any day now. And good riddence.
It is not just her ruling that is what concerns people, it is her statement on video that white men could not have her compassion and judgement because of their skin color. Like her ethnicity gives he special powers. Poverty knows no color, gender, or ethnicity. They forgot to mention that video, conveniently. Go figure.
Powell said a mouthful. Democrats and Republicans don't have spirited debates, they simply hate one another. It doesn't bode well for the future of our country.
Haven't heard his actual reasons for voting for Obama. Has anyone? Sure like to know how he came to conclusion Obama's better for country than McCain. Really. Seems he's just coverin his own you know what. Appears to be a somewhat bigoted fellow.
Powell laid out at length and in detail why he supported Obama, but Republicans just want to see it as "racial."
I'm not surprised. I was recently reading some Republican comments which referred to Obama as "Chimp Obama" and "Monkey Obama." Racists are going to see racism in others. They have no other choice.
Really? Please provide some of the reasons. Powell scolded the GOP for not being more "centrist", and then he endorsed the most liberal member of the Senate over someone reknowned for years as the epidome of a moderate. Experience? McCain had loads and Obama had a laughably paltry amount.
Face it. It was primarily about race. He wanted to get back in the good graces of the black community. He also wanted to get back in good with the media after his UN speech.
I actually haven't seen him EVER articulate CLEARLY how Obama deserved his vote more than McCain. He maintains his title "Republican," but all that matters are where one stands on issues. Any clear-minded person can see through that disguise. Bottom line. His support of Obama makes him liberal, or he voted for Obama because of an affinity towards another black person. Either way, while I'm grateful for his prior military service and support of W, at that time, Powell lost my respect also.
Colin Powell is someone who supported Obama just to get the face recognition he needed to be relevant supposedly. No one can truly be a Republican and vote for the Marxist Obama.
@truthforamerica You literally have no idea what Marxist means. Obama is helping the working class seize the means of production? Oh, wait, I thought he was bailing out banks and big business and then telling the working class they're going to have to "tighten their belts". Marx would be spinning in his grave, you idiot.
@truthforamerica P.S. Reagan supported unions, legalized abortion as governor of California and had absolutely no problems with gay people. He was also very much in favor of the New Deal. And his wife is extremely in favor of stem cell research. By your definition, no one could be truly Republican and vote for Ronald fucking Reagan.
Relevant...? Huh? The guy is a retired 4 star general...Former Head of the Joint chiefs of Staff...A REAL warrior, as opposed to some fire breathing, but sissies in a real fight, self proclaimed rednecks, I know...so go crawl back under your rock moron...
Fuck all republicans!!
