Ok so heres a question, I used to have one of these basically the same as the one rolling out at 1:20. Back when I had it the car seemed very touchy engine wise and very low power, as in I was afraid to take it on the highway. Do most of you guys drop a new engine in these when you buy one? I want a new one to travel cross country so, mountains, snow and desert, its gotta be tough. If your wondering I flipped the old one when an old man t-boned me with his oldsmobile.
There's a reason you still see these VW Buses on the road to this day, granted many are restored, but on occasion you will see the originals putting around. Any vehicle that's been in production for 60 years can't be bad....
My T4 Automatic needed a new gearbox, apparently a common problem as the original box was too weak for the maximum load. Now my camper gets wheelspin after changing into second gear and does 165 kph when it was only meant to do 150kph absolute max!
the older ones are pretty cool, but they made some neat buses after 67 too. i don't like the ones with the tire in the front too much. Same with the vanagans. i have a 74 baywindow that i'm really starting to like.
Yeah who gives a crap what you do or don't like you spoilt brat you probably just bought the thing to look cool well you're not. whoever enoys his whatever bus that's cool i own a t3 wich is very cool in it's own way!
Aren't those little VW vans a pain in the arse for repairs? It looks like it's made/marketed towards the peacefully smart have-no-money hippie, but in reality you'd have to have some serious money to keep this crappy car running...
What dude? The mechanics of these cars are proven to be reliable, as it's engine/trans/suspension has gone though 70 years of continuous production, and Never had a major design problem of any kind.
Not to mention the aftermarket stuff, a VW at factory spec is literally unkillable!
I've seen vans set on fire, let burn to a crisp, they they started and drove fist time. video evidence is on this site.
My family and I drove a 68 bus from Cali to Ohio and back. They are the best!!! I had a 68 auto stick bug that I use to work on. Broke down on the side of the freeway and fixed it myself. And I was on my way
Looks a great event, would love to have been there !!..
