I'm SO glad that me and my brother never got our genitals mutilated. Circumcision is pure child abuse, whether it's done on boys or girls.

I'm so glad to see this raging debate being won by people who have respect for the integrity of a baby's body. It would be great if this were taken to the next level all over the country with in person meet ups and pickets of hospitals. Doctors should know better than to amputate the most sexually sensitive part of a future MAN. Circumcision must END.

I'm a libertarian, so I believe in maximizing individual freedom. The world's adults have to stop treating kids merely as property and realize they are sovereign human beings.  There are certain things you cannot force a child to do, like get circumcised. You can't morally sell your children into sex, like in places like Thailand where girls as young as 13 (or maybe younger) are prostitutes. Lots of stuff you shouldn't be allowed to do to your children. It's called decency.

Culture, religion or tradition cannot justify mutilation of a body part without a person's consent. And obviously an infant cannot consent. I mean, don't those screams from the infant while circumcision is going mean anything to these jackass doctors?? What, you think it's just a reflex, and he's not actually feeling the pain? Oh, he's feelin it alright. And it hurts like hell. Let the child grow up and decide on his own when he can get it done with anesthesia and shit.

the reason why circumcisions are practiced in the united states, is that america is a mostly religious nation. the catholics do that, the protestants do that, the jews do that , and the muslims do that. i love to see an america with no circumcisions, i love that. how are we going to change the jew's and muslim's minds? that is their culture to circumcise babies, just as catholics submerge babies underwater briefly. many cheers and 5 stars for you for showing us how MGM and FGM are horrible.

Too bad this type of information wasn't available when I was born... too late for me, but not too late for my kids (someday). I'm pretty sure my nephews have been circumcised, otherwise I would have shown this to my sisters and maybe it would have changed their minds. In any case I feel bad for my nephews. This type of information should be mandatory and shown to expecting parents by doctors. If everyone knew about how terrible this is, it wouldn't happen anymore.

It is illegal to perform such acts on girls here in America, and that is good. There is no reason this protective right should not be given to boys as well.

yeah i know, why the HELL would it not be? its supposedly more painful for a man then a woman, man has 20,000 nerve endings and woman has 8,000 (not that it doesn't as hurt much but it was a known fact i had read.) and when i watched a video of it being done (different one) it pissed me off it was a woman doing it!! its surgery.. a nurse doing that?? (not that big a deal really..) but the fact I'm mad about is she doesn't know what its like having one, yet performing such barbarism?

An infant being circumcised is a horrific thing. It's not only a traumatic experience for him but it takes away his foreskin forever. The foreskin belongs to him not the parents. It saddens me that this is still allowed to happen. I'm so pleased that I didn't allow it to happen to my boys.
