  • LISA...THE WORLD MISSES YOU...Your spirit lives on in your music. So few people understood you... but those who did have been forever altered by you. The purple flame burns in my heart. Thank you for sharing your connection with us and showing us the divine...

  • I always knew there was something weird about Lisa - now I know, it's her earlobes, OR LACK OF THEM - think she can't hear herself talking gibberish.

  • What I find amazing is that when she actually speaks what she has to say is even more gibberish than when she is singing gibberish. She is a female version of Charley Sheen. DO not get me wrong. I find her music interesting, but clearly she is deluded.

  • What the F is she talking about????????????

  • ...You're really Brendan Perry, aren't you? Admit it.

  • what is the name of son at minut 6:20 pleaseeeeeee <3

  • @Flaminio90 Dead Can Dance's Ariadne

  • Lisa is bat shit insane, and the only reason that people can sit through her inane rambling is that she just happens to be one of the best (if not the very best) singer in the world.

If you wrote this crap down and had some ugly bum speak the same words, you'd make it a point to walk on the other side of the street from him.

But then she sings, and we instantly know what it was she was fumbling toward so awkwardly with words.

  • @032125 ... so is insane being a little closer to the divine? I totally get what you mean, but I really don't think she's insane. I think she is wiser than most, and I do think she channels what she calls the holy ghost. Your comment about walking on the other side of the street of someone saying similar things makes me remind myself to watch for the divine in all things.

  • @boodahduck2 being insane is not equivalent to being "closer to the divine". I know some very holy people (not pious or sanctimonious, but actually holy) who don't babble like Lisa.

It is true that some cultures view insane people as touched by the gods, and they are free to interpret t that way, but I disagree. I think Lisa is rambling in the direction of enlightenment, but does not understand or posses it.

Again, this is just what I see. Feel free to differ.

  • @032125 Indeed, being insane has nothing to do with proximity to the divine. I have met insane people much closer to the Devil than divinity. Insanity is just insanity. There's also socially defined insanity, which classifies as insane anybody who differs from social norms.

As for "babbling and rambling", Lisa's way too smart to get to the point. She IS the point. Don't expect to understand everything, unless you can BE music, or at least try. I mean, don't listen, don't make but BE music.

  • @032125 Negativity, negativity. The fact remains, she's successful and loved by all, while some people are foulmouthing famous characters on the internet just to feel a little bit better about themselves. I have no trouble understanding her "inane rambling" at all, but of course I know what she's talking about. She's an improviser, music come to flesh. I'm not as good, but trying, so I have perspective. Lighten up and stop analyzing what can't be analyzed by the likes of you.

  • @jannevellamo By the likes of you. Cute.

I'm not decrying Lisa as a world class singing talent; I just can't take her seriously in this context. It's very common who are gifted and brilliant in one field to be utterly incompetent in another; a sort of deep specialization. Again, I love, love love her music beyond words, but she should stick to glossolalia.

  • @032125 Cute? You should see me when I really get started. Troll after troll has suffered a hideous, but swift end in my hands. Well, enough narcissism for tonight.

You're just so wrong about the deep specialization. That's what qualifies her to say pretty much anything she wants about music in any way she pleases. If there's something unclear, you may rest assured it is the mere mortal who's not been paying attention. Negativity is keeping you down. Lose it. Check out Eckhart Tolle for help.

  • @jannevellamo I know and deeply respect Eckhart, and most of the time I agree with his ideas. I don't like the bell though, it's just weird.

What I object to is people slobbering all over Lisa as though she were a shaman. I loathe idol worship, and refuse to let my adoration of her singing translate into a free pass to speak nonsense. If you wrote down what she said and read it to people who had never heard of LG or DCD, they'd call it daft rambling, and they'd be right. Lisa is not a god.

  • @032125 You already know Eckhart? So, you're not a lost cause after all. If anything he says sounds weird, it means the listener is not yet in touch with himself enough to understand. The time is coming, though....

Try YogeeshAshram's channel. Now, there's a smart man who goes straight to the point, clearly, succinctly and without beating around the bush.

If people feel like worshiping, they'll always find something to worship. Lisa's a whole lot better for that than most others. Could do worse.

  • @jannevellamo Oh thank heavens, you don't think I'm a lost cause.

  • @032125 Not lost, just suffering like the rest of us. Perhaps somewhere along the line somebody ordered you to fit in a box way too small for your soul. Now the box is cramping your growth and hurting your soul. You went to Eckhart for help and something inside you just knew LG can make dead souls dance. Good. So, what's all this negativity? It's the box telling you it's you. "You don't really have to open the box, just stay in the dark, ignoring the truth." The box is evil, but it's not you.

  • @jannevellamo Or perhaps I simply do not hand out unqualified praise, but rather take each statement, critically asses it, and give feedback as appropriate. No matter how much we adore someone, if they say something idiotic, we ought to identify it as such. Critical thinking ≠ negativity.

Realize that this conversation is not productive because you are taking a mystical tack and I am taking a rational tack. This will not lead anywhere, so we are left at our original opinions.

  • @032125 Actually, I'm one of the most rational people alive. I could have included my whole chain of conclusion, but there's a limit to the length of a YT message, so I just skipped 90% of it and went straight to the crux. Lisa can do it and so can I. I was a lot like you, till I realized pure intelligence can be deceptive. Successful rationality requires access to ALL existing data, which is something none of us have. So, I fill the gaps with approximations. Is that mysticism or an algorithm?

  • @jannevellamo Mysticism. Or inductive logic. Or wishful thinking. In any case, I repeat my original statement that Lisa's lips are moving, but nothing is coming out. Love her music, but she is not communicating any actionable or coherent information here.

  • @032125 Why not philosophy? Most philosophers are difficult to grasp at best and incomprehensible at worst, unless you are prepared to open your mind to unfamiliar thought structures, which superficially may seem quite irrelevant and alien to the tangible reality. Civil rights, national states, the abolition of slavery and the eight hour working day were once seen as folly and nonsense, until thinkers formulated the ideas, put them in print and saw people turn them to reality.Lisa is the future.

  • @032125 Agreed. I think she will come to the truth of the matter one day when it will be far too late.

  • She gives me goosebumps.

  • she talks a LOT of shit, but her voice is stunning, beautiful. What a shame she feels the need to fill a void in her knowledge with mystical rhetoric. The music IS 'god'. What is IS 'god'. It is life-force, structured for our aesthetic pleasures.

  • I love you voice, your biographic story, your music all the time since everytime lisa !

  • Her work ..is soul work...

I hear her voice surround my spirit~

  • adorable woman

  • you`re so miserable...go and fuck off!!!

  • ...to answer your question. No, she's not a lesbian. The last I heard, she was married. Her husband was either Australian like her, or American. She also has (at the least) a daughter, who's probably around 18yrs old now. Also, I think she used to be involved with Brendan Perry, in the very early DCD days.

  • So thats what Brendan always crying about!

  • LOL! I suspect the same thing:)

  • Maybe... So what. Whether she was or was not she is a beautiful human

    - like you.

  • @gardenofarcane

She didn't seem like one last night.

  • BI curious!

  • She has a nice mouth!

  • @gardenofarcane Yes she does!

  • @gardenofarcane .. a beautiful mouth!

  • OHHHH IS one Diossaaaaa

  • She has a very interesting haunting contralto vocal range.

  • So high, respect!

  • We will never see another Lisa Gerrard or Brendan Perry again. They are truly unique souls.

  • no need to call on god to connect to their incredible music... you have to be numb not to the the goose bumps anyway!

  • the beauty of creation speaks through you

  • I just love this woman! she makes complete sense to me

  • Your voice manifests the beauty of God...

  • As can all of our voices !

  • I love you in all bodies , Lisa...Thank you for being awake & aware of the deepest, most quiet, most inner understandings.

  • thank you

  • "her philosophy is a rag bag of new age vacuous nonsense"

At least she's trying.....ask any artist these days if they have any sense of, say, reality or their respective take on the philosophy of music..they'd be lost ......

  • a dvd the world needs to see, the bees are dying we dont have much time, much is to be learned...

  • papasitoman, you're understanding of physics is certainly not a rag bag of new age vacuous nonsense. (but lisa gerard is not a philosopher, she is a (damn good) singer). :)

  • What is the song played at 1:45 to 3:00? It sounds amazing!

  • Sorry it took so long to reply, and you might know already, but it's "Indus".

  • I didn't know and I'm glad I checked my account before going to sleep. Thanks a lot. I appreciate it!

  • Sanvean

  • Well, I hate the so-called "New age" stuff as well. But this NA stuff has been around for hundreds or thousands of years. 95% has been shown time after time to be BS. BUT, because the universe had a beginning and expanded and this 'energy' became atoms and molecules and gases to solids-all of this 'stuff' is what we are made of. We know when two electrons are created at the same time, you can separate them and do something to one and the other responds instantly. We are all connected. Always.

  • "It would be possible to describe everything scientifically, but it would make no sense; it would be without meaning, as if you described a Beethoven symphony as a variation of wave pressure." -- Albert Einstein

Music, like any other art, is a form of communication. If all you hear is a beautiful voice and some "nonsense philosophy", then the circuit has shorted on *your* end.

  • I love her analogy of a butterfly. So true...

  • "host of seraphim", from "the serpent's egg" album is the most beautiful piece of music i ever heard... brendan and lisa, thank u, for sharing all that positive energy with us...

  • and the end?

  • whatste song that shes singing at the begining?????

  • She is so brilliantly articulate. She can move me with her words just as much as with her abstract sounds.

  • Is there anyone who knows the song at 6:30?

    and album as well...???

  • hi, it's "ariadne" on the "into the labyrinth"-album :-)

  • thanks ...I relly appriciate...:)

  • Very intelecctually stimulating and the music is spiritually uplifting. my soul dances to lisa gerrard's music.

  • Absolutely!

  • This is absolutely beautiful!

  • Where does the song that starts at around 2:00 come from? Can anyone help me out? Thanks.

  • Indus

  • on album Spiritchaser

  • We are starving, a lot on youtube proves that.
