OMG!!!! I felt like u were speaking to me!! I have so much issue!! Ive always hated my big bright brown eyes and my light brown skin. Ive always said i wish i had hazel or green eyes or lighter skin with curlier hair, but after watching ur video I'm learning to love every feature i have because I'am wonderfully made in Gods eyes and is about time I see the true beauty in me.
This is exactly what I think. We as black people need to inspire our people to love themselves in the way God created us. We are created in God's image, thus we are divine.
@MommyHot25 Thanks so much for your kind words! The continued support of everyone spreading the word about my videos not only motivates me to make more, but it makes my message of "loving our natural bodies" available to the youth and their families :)
Awsome video, I am raising 5 children with my husband. We are always very clear and concious, of how we parent our children in the ways you described. Great information and so important to our community. God Bless.
you said it all sis'! I just realized that I've never had major self-esteem issues because i have loving parents who have always told me that im beautiful and smart...guess i'm too brainwashed to have anyone make me believe that i'm not a wonder of God's creation!
Thanks so much for sharing such insightful videos! God bless!
This is great for people to see I still have people around me talk down on natural hair I'm transitioning and I have to hear them say the word nappy headed. I'm confident in my hair I just hate when people don't love themselves enough so they put down people who do. I also hear the term "good hair" a lot also and it's just pure ignorance after I explain to them there is no such thing as "Good hair" they still continue to say it well "good hair" equals having hair it equals healthy hair
This is interersting as far as influencing sons. My husband has 2 nephews(brothers who are young adults) through highschool they would NEVER date a black girl, and if she was "black" she had to be mixed. One of them blame it on black girls personalities and the other says it is just his preference to date girls that look more "exotic" (translation anything but black) Their mom seems to have high self esteem? So Idk. but we thought it had to do with the prodom White community they grew up in.
@godsflame2 Your point in so true, we live in an area where it is common place to date and marry other than us. We see this while raising our children. There is no perfect solution, but we work to expose our chidlren to other parts of the country. Like travelling and pointing out other examples, plus ourselves. Thats an important dynamic that is really affecting our communities as well. God Bless
well said, however it is extremely necessary for a godly ordained teacher to be sent to this african descended people and be TAUGHT how to truly love our god created image. A lot of intelligent seeming individuals always talking about" you got to love yourself", apparently we were not taught how to truly appreciate ourselves.
excellent teachings and information in this video.
