@ductape95 Nope. 405nm is very dim in real life. Even with a 100mW blu-ray its hard to see the beam without smoke or fog.

Violet lasers are diode lasers. The simple answer is that diode lasers have less components then DPSS lasers such as blue and green.

50MW can, but very very little. The most it can do is smoke a trash bag, or cut electric tape, however it does burn if you keep your hand in front of it.

405nm is very deep violet (almost ultra violet) but 473 is just normal blue :)

The difference is the 405nm looks blue on some surfaces but the 473nm looks blue on ANY surface. Oh, and the 405nm is MUCH cheaper than 473nm and burns better than blue, green or red.
