Battle for The Marshall Islands

It was the Army's 7th Division at Kwajalein Island, Kwajalein Atoll, and the Marine's 4th Division on Roi Namour - an island of Kwajalein Atoll. The battle lasted 3 days. 8,000 Japanese died and about 200 American soldiers. It was the liberation of Kwajalein from the Japanese - not an invasion by the Americans.

The largest island in the Marshalls was Kwajalein. The Army's Seventh Infantry Division took Kwajalein, not the Marines. Typical of the Marines to think they did it all.
