I'm Glad my state doesn't sell to people like you. You wanna complain about the cost i bet you dont want to see a video of someone doing your line of work themselfs now i agree that the price you were given is high and if your unit was under warranty why did you have to pay for the board. Us HVAC guys have to make a living just like you pisses me off
You should have disabled comments on this, the majority of the comments you are going to get are from people that don't have the balls to try something for themselves. no he might not be a professional and it might burn out again but so fucking what? he's trying something for himself and if you don't like it then you don't have to do it and its "people like you" that overpay for simple shit to fix...idiots
So you're just changing the board out, hoping that whatever really caused the last board to fail never happens again? The difference between a DIY'er and this professional is I would find the root of the problem THEN replace the board. No offense, but I could train a monkey to change out an identical board. Troubleshooting is entirely different matter.
Thank you. This is a great how to video. I feel confident I can do this myself. I pride myself in being self sufficient. If all else fails, I like to know what my repair man is doing so I don't feel like they will not take advantage of me.
great job on the defrost control board replacement - I'm about to do the same thing - I almost ended up replacing my unit until I began reading around and found out that all my symptoms led to this board and an hvac tech told me the same thing yours told you - replace that board before the unit given mine cooled just fine in the summer - DIY is the only way to go - & btw I was able to find a local dealer that sold direct to the public, otherwise I would have ordered mine off ebay for 1/2 price
very good work. can you do a DIY on how to fix a concrete slab that needs to be raised and have 7 piers installed? you can use my house as the location.

People like you are the reason HVAC contractors are needed. In my state YOU are not allowed to buy the parts.
