Never go against Red with pokemons that are 55-59..All of your pokemons must be at level 65 or even 70 to beat him with no problems! I always battle him with my pokemons at level 70-72 and beat him with only two pokemons :)

Lol I beat red with one highly overtrained lvl100 typhlosion with the killer moveset. It's how I beat the elite 4 like 200 times before I reset the game.

Btw killer gsc moveset for typhlosion is thunderpunch, dynamicpunch, earthquake, and flamethrower. That is all it takes
